What the Interact Zapier integration does for you
The Interact Zapier integration links the quizzes you build in Interact to the rest of your tools. Each time someone finishes a quiz and leaves their details, Interact hands that lead to Zapier, and Zapier passes it to the next app you picked. No export, no copy and paste.
Everything here starts from one event, New Lead. That sounds thin. In practice it covers the job most quiz owners care about: getting a fresh contact out of the quiz and into the place where follow-up happens. Three outcomes people build most often:
A subscriber in your email tool. The lead goes straight into a list, so the welcome sequence starts while the quiz result is still on their screen.
A record in your CRM. Sales sees the person who just took the quiz without waiting for a weekly import.
A ping to the team. A short message in a chat channel tells someone a new lead came in from a specific quiz.
Now the honest part. Zapier cannot do anything inside Interact. There are no actions and no searches for this app, so a Zap (more on that word below) can read new leads but never create a quiz, edit a result or look up an old lead. It only listens. If the plan is to push data back into Interact, this integration will not get there.
The same app also has a page on the other side of the fence: the Interact Make integration. If you are weighing the two platforms in general, Make vs Zapier sets them side by side.
Zapier vocabulary in one minute
Seven words cover everything on this page. Each one is explained once, then used as is.
- Zap
- The automation you build in Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time that trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. Here it is a new quiz lead in Interact. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it.
- Action
- What the Zap does after it starts: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you in another app.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills. One task equals one action your Zap completes successfully, and your plan counts those.
- Polling vs instant
- Polling: Zapier checks the app on a timer. Instant: the app calls Zapier the moment something happens. Interact is instant.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap continue only when what arrived meets a condition you set, and stops it quietly otherwise.
- Connection
- Your Interact account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every Zap and every step that needs Interact.
What an Interact Zap really costs
Short version: Interact is not a premium app, so it works on the free plan, and the trigger itself is free.
- TriggerFree, never counted as a task
- Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps only
- Premium appNo, available from the free plan
- New LeadInstant, no interval on any plan
A new lead arriving costs nothing. Zapier only counts a task when an action succeeds, so one lead sent to Mailchimp is one task, and the same lead sent to Mailchimp and Slack is two. An action that fails is not counted. The free plan gives you 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, but each Zap stops at two steps: one trigger, one action. Add a filter or a second action and it becomes a multi-step Zap, which needs a paid plan. The interval grid below applies to polling triggers only; New Lead is instant, so it skips the wait on every plan.
Connect Interact to Zapier in three steps
- 01
Open your connections
In Zapier, go to the Apps page of your account and click + Add connection. A dialog opens with a search box. Type Interact and pick it from the list.
- 02
Sign in to Interact
Click Add connection. A new tab asks you to log in to Interact. Use the account that owns the quizzes you want to automate, or one with access to quizzes someone else built.
- 03
Grant access
Approve the access Zapier asks for. The connection then shows up in your list and every future Zap can reuse it, so this is a one-time job per Interact account.
Your first Zap: quiz leads into Mailchimp, with a Slack heads-up
GoalA coach runs a quiz as a lead magnet. Every new lead should join a Mailchimp audience, and the coach wants a Slack message the moment it happens.
- 01
Create the Zap
Start a new Zap from your dashboard. For the trigger, choose Interact, then the event New Lead, then the connection you set up earlier.
- 02
Pick the quiz
Select the quiz in the required Quiz field. One Zap watches one quiz, so a second quiz means a second Zap or a duplicate of this one.
- 03
Test the trigger
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent leads from that quiz. Take the quiz yourself first if it is brand new, so there is something real to look at.
- 04
Add Mailchimp and map
Add the Mailchimp action, choose the audience, and map the lead details from the test into the matching boxes. Test the step and check the subscriber appeared.
- 05
Add the Slack message
Add the Slack action, pick the channel and write a short message that pulls in details from the lead. Two actions after the trigger: this Zap needs a paid plan.
- 06
Publish
Click Publish. From now on each new lead reaches Mailchimp and Slack the moment it is captured. Earlier leads stay where they are.
The Interact trigger
1 event starts a Zap when something happens in Interact, and one of them is instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.
New Lead
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new lead is collected from quiz.”
Fires each time a visitor completes one of your Interact quizzes and leaves their contact details. The lead arrives in Zapier ready to be mapped into whatever app comes next, whether that is an email list, a CRM or a spreadsheet.
When an Interact Zap breaks
Zapier links no help article to Interact, so the traps below are the general ones that hit an app like this.
Most of these fail quietly: the Zap runs, just less often or less fully than planned. If one rings a bell, Zapier troubleshooting is the next stop.
Old leads never show up
A Zap only reacts to leads captured after you publish it. Everyone who took the quiz before stays in Interact, and moving that backlog is a separate job.A sudden wave gets held back
If a quiz goes viral or leads arrive in one huge batch, Zapier's flood protection can hold the trigger back instead of firing for every single one.The quiz dropdown is empty
The required Quiz field only lists quizzes the connected account can see. Wrong account, or no quiz built yet, and the trigger cannot be set.Two actions on the free plan
Mailchimp plus Slack is a multi-step Zap. The free plan stops at one trigger and one action, so either drop the Slack step or move to a paid plan.
