KlipLink Zapier integrationAutomate KlipLink with Zapier.
The KlipLink Zapier integration gives you 1 trigger, 3 actions and 1 search. That is enough to spot every new short link, create links from other apps, edit or remove them, and look one up before a later step in the Zap needs it.

What the KlipLink Zapier integration actually does
KlipLink is a link manager: short links, landing pages and QR codes, with click stats on top. Plugging it into Zapier means your short links stop living in a silo. Another app can create them for you, and KlipLink can tell the rest of your tools a new one exists, at Zapier's next check (more on that below).
Three results people usually build first. A shared link log: New Link watches your account and copies every fresh short URL into a spreadsheet or a chat channel, so nobody asks "which link did we send?" again. Short links on autopilot: a CRM record, a product page or a new campaign row fires Create Link, and the short URL comes back ready to drop into the next email. Clean-up after a campaign: Get Link pulls the details of a known short URL, then Update Link or Delete Link fixes or retires it.
What Zapier does not do here matters just as much. The only trigger is New Link: there is no event for a click, a scan or an edited link, so a Zap cannot react to traffic. The search needs the short URL itself, it does not browse your account by tag or date. And the trigger is checked on a timer, never pushed by KlipLink.
If you are weighing tools, the KlipLink Make integration page covers the same app on the other platform, and Make vs Zapier puts the two editors side by side.
Zapier vocabulary in one minute
Eight words carry the whole page. Read them once and the rest gets easy.
- Zap
- The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time that trigger event shows up.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is switched on, Zapier sits and waits for it to happen.
- Action
- What the Zap does after it starts: the step that writes, sends or changes something in an app on your behalf.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills. One action your Zap finishes successfully equals one task, and your plan counts those.
- Polling vs instant
- A polling trigger is checked by Zapier on a timer. An instant trigger is pushed by the app itself the moment the event happens.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap continue only when the incoming data matches the condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
- Search step
- A step that looks up something already stored in an app, so later steps can reuse what it found.
- Premium app
- An app Zapier keeps for paid plans and free trials. KlipLink is not one, so the free plan can use it.
What KlipLink on Zapier really costs
The trigger is free. Checking for new links is free too, however often Zapier looks.
- TriggerCosts no task
- Successful action1 task each
- Free plan100 tasks a month, 2-step Zaps
- Premium appNo, works on Free
You pay in tasks, the only unit Zapier bills: every action that succeeds counts once, and a failed one counts for nothing at all. A Zap with three actions burns three times what a one-action Zap does. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and checks every 15 minutes, but it stops at two steps. Add a filter, a second action or Get Link as a search, and you have a multi-step Zap, which needs a paid plan.
Connect your KlipLink account in 3 steps
- 01
Open your connections
In Zapier, go to the Apps page of your account and click + Add connection. A connection is your KlipLink account linked once, then reused by every Zap that touches KlipLink.
- 02
Pick KlipLink
Type KlipLink in the search box of the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. You need an existing KlipLink account first: Zapier connects to it, it does not create one.
- 03
Sign in and allow access
A new tab opens. Log in to KlipLink there and grant Zapier access to the account. If the links you want to manage belong to someone else, make sure your login can read and edit them.
Your first Zap: post every client link to Slack
GoalEach new short link pointing to a client domain lands in the team's Slack channel; internal test links stay out.
- 01
Create the Zap and pick the trigger
Start a new Zap from your Zapier dashboard, choose KlipLink as the app and New Link as the event, then select the KlipLink connection you added earlier.
- 02
Test the trigger
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent links of your account, so pick one that points to a client page and map from it.
- 03
Add the filter
Click the plus icon, choose Filter, then set the field, the rule and the value. Use a text rule on the destination, or the filter never passes. This makes the Zap multi-step, so a paid plan is needed.
- 04
Add the Slack action
Add Slack as the next step, pick the channel and drop the short URL from the trigger into the message. Test that step and read what came back.
- 05
Publish
Click Publish to switch the Zap on. From now on, only links created after this moment will be posted to Slack; older ones stay where they are.
The KlipLink trigger
1 event starts a Zap when something happens in KlipLink. Zapier checks for them at the interval your plan allows.
New Link
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new link is created.”
Starts your Zap each time a new short link is created in your KlipLink account. You get the fresh link to pass on to the next step, which is the backbone of any link log or notification Zap.
KlipLink actions
KlipLink gives you 3 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.
Operations index
Create Link
ActionIn Zapier“Creates a new short URL.”
Turns a long address coming from another app into a KlipLink short URL. The only required field is the Destination URL, so a product page or a form answer is enough to feed it.
Delete Link
ActionIn Zapier“Deletes a link from your account.”
Removes a link from your KlipLink account. It asks for the short URL itself, not the destination, so keep that value stored somewhere a Zap can read it.
Update Link
ActionIn Zapier“Updates / edits a link.”
Edits an existing KlipLink link instead of creating a second one, which keeps your account free of near-duplicate links.
The KlipLink search
1 search step looks for data that already exists in KlipLink, so a later step can use it.
A search step sits under the SEARCH heading at the bottom of the Action event list. Three settings decide what happens when the result is not the one you expected.
Get Link
SearchIn Zapier“Finds a link on your account.”
Looks up one of your KlipLink links from its short URL and hands its details to the steps that follow. The Short Url field is required, so the search cannot browse by name or date.
The three settings every search exposes
- Successful if no search results are found?Left on its default, a search that finds nothing stops the Zap and skips the steps that relied on it. Switched on, the Zap continues with empty values.
- Create X if it doesn't exist yet? This box turns a search into a find-or-create. KlipLink offers no such variant, so you will not see it on Get Link.
- If multiple search results are found?Keep the first match (the default), stop the Zap, or pass every match on at once.
When the KlipLink Zap breaks
Zapier lists no help article and no documented limit specific to KlipLink. What goes wrong comes from how Zapier works in general.
Four cases cover most of the surprises. If something feels stuck, the Zapier troubleshooting page walks through the usual checks.
Old links never show up
A Zap only reacts to what happens after you switch it on. Links created before that are ignored; moving the backlog is a separate job.The Zap keeps restarting itself
New Link followed by Create Link writes into the very account the trigger watches. Each new link fires the Zap again and drains your tasks.A bulk import goes quiet
When the trigger suddenly returns a huge batch, after an import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold the run back. The same link is not sent twice
Zapier remembers which links it has already seen on a polling trigger. That is expected: editing a link will not start the Zap again.
