What the kwtSMS Zapier integration does
kwtSMS is an SMS provider that delivers text messages in Kuwait and to other countries. On Zapier it does one job: send an SMS. Something happens in another app, a sale, an appointment, a status change, and Zapier passes the details to kwtSMS, which texts the numbers you choose. kwtSMS never starts a Zap itself.
One operation, Send SMS Message, still covers a lot of ground. Three results come up most. Order confirmations by text: a buyer gets an SMS the moment the shop records the purchase. Appointment reminders: a booking in your scheduling tool sends the client the date and place. Internal alerts: a high-value lead or a failed payment texts the person on duty, even away from email.
Here is what Zapier cannot do with kwtSMS. It cannot react to anything that happens inside kwtSMS, since the app has no trigger: nothing that happens on the kwtSMS side will ever start a Zap. It cannot look up a contact or a past message, as there is no search. And it only sends to numbers written the way kwtSMS expects them, which is the most common cause of a failed run.
The practical consequence: every kwtSMS Zap starts in another app, and the speed of the text depends on that app's trigger. An instant trigger sends the SMS straight away; a polling one waits for the next check.

Zapier vocabulary in plain words
Seven terms carry this page. Here they are, one line each, before you go any further.
- Zap
- An automation built on Zapier: one starting event, then one or more steps that run each time that event happens.
- Trigger
- The event that starts a Zap. kwtSMS has none, so the trigger always comes from another app, like a shop or a calendar.
- Action
- What the Zap does after it starts: the step that writes or sends something. For kwtSMS, it is sending a text message.
- Task
- What Zapier bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. Each SMS sent through the Zap counts as one task.
- Polling vs instant
- A polling trigger is checked on a timer; an instant trigger is reported the moment it happens. It depends on the app that starts the Zap.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap continue only when the incoming data meets a condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
- Connection
- Your kwtSMS account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every Zap that sends a text through it.
What a kwtSMS Zap really costs
On the Zapier side, each text sent is one task. The trigger in the other app costs nothing, and a send that fails is not counted against your plan.
- Trigger (other app)0 tasks
- Each SMS sent1 task
- Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps
- Premium appNo
The free plan gives you 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, each limited to two steps: one trigger, one action. kwtSMS is not a premium app, so a simple order-to-SMS Zap runs on that plan. Add a filter to text only some customers, or a second action, and the Zap becomes multi-step, which needs a paid plan. The time before the SMS goes out depends on the trigger app: instant triggers fire at once, polling ones follow the grid below.
Connect kwtSMS to Zapier in three steps
- 01
Open your connections
In your Zapier account, go to Apps and click + Add connection. Before you start, check that your kwtSMS account already has a registered sender ID, since every message needs one.
- 02
Pick kwtSMS
Type kwtSMS in the search box of the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. A new browser tab opens where kwtSMS asks for your account details.
- 03
Sign in and allow access
Sign in to kwtSMS in that tab and grant Zapier access to the account. From then on, every kwtSMS Zap reuses that connection, so you only do this once.
Your first kwtSMS Zap
GoalText every customer whose order is over a set amount, right after the purchase.
- 01
Create the Zap
Start a new Zap and choose your shop as the app that starts it, with the event that fires on a new order. Connect your shop account and select the store.
- 02
Test the trigger
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent orders, so you map the phone number and the order details from a real purchase rather than a blank sample.
- 03
Add a filter
Click the plus icon, add Filter and keep only orders above your threshold. Pick a number rule, not a text one. The filter makes the Zap multi-step and paid.
- 04
Add the SMS
Add kwtSMS, choose Send SMS Message, select your sender ID and language, map the customer's mobile number, then write the message with the order details.
- 05
Test and publish
Send the test to your own number first and check the text on your phone. When it reads right, click Publish to switch the Zap on.
The kwtSMS action
kwtSMS gives you 1 action. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

Send SMS Message
ActionIn Zapier“Send SMS message to specific number.”
Sends a text message from your registered sender ID to one or several mobile numbers, in the language you pick, with content built from the earlier steps.
When a kwtSMS Zap breaks
Zapier links no help article to kwtSMS and lists no limit specific to it, so the cases below combine the action's required fields with Zapier's general rules.
Most failures come from the number format or the plan, not from kwtSMS itself. If a run fails and the cause is unclear, see our Zapier troubleshooting guide.
The number is rejected
kwtSMS wants international numbers with no plus sign, no 00 prefix, no dots and no spaces. A number copied as typed by the customer often fails.Old orders never get a text
A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. Orders placed before publishing are not picked up; texting that backlog is a separate job.The filter is locked on Free
On the free plan a Zap holds one trigger and one action. A filter or a second action makes it multi-step, which needs a paid plan.A burst of orders is held back
If the trigger app suddenly returns a huge batch, after an import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold it back instead of texting everyone.
