Overview

What the LaunchSoft Zapier integration actually does

The LaunchSoft Zapier integration lets one LaunchSoft event start a Zap, the automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions in other apps. That event is New Notification. Zapier files LaunchSoft under Ads & Conversion, as a tool that returns metrics to its users. Everything the Zap does after the trigger happens outside LaunchSoft.

Three things you can build with it. A relay: each New Notification goes straight to one action in another app, a two-step Zap that runs on the free plan. A sorted feed: a filter sits between the trigger and the action, so only the notifications that meet your condition get through. A fan-out: one notification feeds several actions in a row, each one billed as its own task. The last two are multi-step Zaps and need a paid plan.

What Zapier does not do here: it cannot write anything into LaunchSoft, because the app offers no action, and it cannot look anything up in it, because there is no search. It never reads notifications that existed before your Zap was switched on. And since New Notification is a polling trigger, nothing arrives the second it happens: Zapier checks on a timer set by your plan.

Vocabulary

Zapier vocabulary in one minute

Six words carry the rest of this page. Here they are in plain English.

Zap
The automation you build on Zapier. It starts with one trigger and runs one or more actions every time that trigger fires.
Trigger
The event that starts a Zap. Here it is New Notification in LaunchSoft; once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it.
Action
What the Zap does once it has started: the step that writes, sends or moves something in another app for you.
Task
The unit Zapier bills. One task is one action that completed successfully, and your plan's monthly allowance counts those.
Polling vs instant
Polling: Zapier asks the app for new items on a timer. Instant: the app calls Zapier itself. New Notification is polling.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap carry on only when the incoming item meets the condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
Cost

What it really costs

The trigger never costs a task, and neither does Zapier checking LaunchSoft for new notifications, however often it looks. Only a completed action is billed.

  • New Notification triggerNo task
  • Each successful actionCounted as a task
  • Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps
  • Premium appNo

Every action that succeeds counts on its own, so a Zap with three actions eats three times as much as a Zap with one. An action that fails is not counted. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and builds two-step Zaps only: add a filter or a second action and the Zap becomes multi-step, which needs a paid plan. A few apps and actions take more than one task. LaunchSoft is not a premium app, so it works from the free plan.

Connect

Connect your LaunchSoft account in three steps

  1. 01

    Open the Apps page

Sign in to Zapier and open the Apps page of your account. That is where your connections live: each one links an account to Zapier once, then every Zap reuses it. Have a LaunchSoft account ready before you start.

  2. 02

    Add LaunchSoft

Click + Add connection, type LaunchSoft in the search box of the dialog and pick it from the results. Then click Add connection to start the sign-in.

  3. 03

    Sign in and grant access

A new tab opens on LaunchSoft. Sign in there, then grant Zapier access to the account. If the notifications you want to follow are not yours, check first that your account has read access to them.

First Zap

Your first Zap with New Notification

GoalSend each LaunchSoft notification that meets your condition to another app.

  1. 01

    Create the Zap

In the editor, pick LaunchSoft as the app that starts the Zap and New Notification as the event, then choose the connection you just added.

  2. 02

    Test the trigger

Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent notifications of the connected account, so you map the next steps on a real one instead of a blank.

  3. 03

    Add the filter

Click the plus icon under the trigger and add a Filter. Set the field to look at, the rule and the value. Use a text rule on text and a number rule on numbers, or it never passes.

  4. 04

    Add the action

Add the step in the other app that should receive the notification, map the LaunchSoft fields into it, then test it once and read what came back before going further.

  5. 05

    Publish

Publish the Zap to switch it on. From then on it reacts only to notifications created after that moment. With a filter on board, it runs on a paid plan.

Triggers

The LaunchSoft trigger

1 event starts a Zap when something happens in LaunchSoft. Zapier checks for them at the interval your plan allows.

1

New Notification

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when there's a new notification.”

This one starts your Zap whenever LaunchSoft produces a notification on the connected account, and passes what that notification carries to the steps that follow.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one.
When to use it
when a LaunchSoft notification should set something off in another tool without anyone forwarding it by hand.
Watch out
the test pulls only the three most recent notifications of the account, so pick the one closest to what your filter or action expects.
When it breaks

When it breaks

Zapier attaches no help article to LaunchSoft and lists no limit of its own.

What goes wrong is what goes wrong on any polling trigger, and it is worth knowing before the first notification goes missing. For other cases, see Zapier troubleshooting.

  • No backfill of old notifications

A Zap only reacts to what happens after you switch it on. Notifications already sitting in LaunchSoft are never picked up, and moving them is a separate job.
  • Not instant

New Notification waits for the next check: every 15 minutes on Free, every 2 on Professional, every minute on Team and Enterprise. Plan your expectations around that.
  • Flood protection

A sudden huge batch of notifications, after a bulk import or a migration, can be held back by Zapier's flood protection instead of running all at once.
  • No double runs

Zapier remembers which notifications it has already seen on this polling trigger, so the same one does not start the Zap twice.

FAQ

LaunchSoft and Zapier: common questions

01Is the LaunchSoft Zapier integration free?
Yes, on the free plan, as long as the Zap stays at two steps. LaunchSoft is not a premium app, so Zapier does not hold it back for paid plans. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and checks New Notification every 15 minutes. It also limits each Zap to one trigger and one action. Add a filter, a search or a second action and the Zap becomes multi-step, which only paid plans allow.
02How many tasks does a LaunchSoft Zap use?
Only the actions count. The New Notification trigger never costs a task, and Zapier checking LaunchSoft for new notifications is free however often it happens. Each action that completes successfully counts as one task, so a Zap with one action uses one task per notification, and a Zap with three actions uses three. An action that fails is not billed. A few apps and actions take more than one task, so check the step you add after the trigger.
03Does LaunchSoft send notifications to Zapier in real time?
No. New Notification is a polling trigger: Zapier asks LaunchSoft for new notifications on a timer and keeps only the ones it has not seen yet. The interval depends on the plan: 15 minutes on Free, 2 on Professional, 1 on Team and Enterprise. The type comes from the app's own service, so no setting in the editor turns it into an instant trigger. On paid plans, the interval can be changed and a check can be run by hand.
04What does it take to connect LaunchSoft to Zapier?
A LaunchSoft account and a Zapier account. Open the Apps page in Zapier, click + Add connection, search for LaunchSoft, click Add connection, then sign in to LaunchSoft in the tab that opens and grant Zapier access. If the notifications to follow belong to someone else, the LaunchSoft account needs read access to them. Once added, the connection serves every Zap that works with LaunchSoft, so you only do this once. Keep both accounts at hand: the sign-in happens in a separate tab.
05Can a Zap pick up LaunchSoft notifications from before it was published?
No. A Zap only reacts to notifications created after it is switched on. Anything already in LaunchSoft at that moment is ignored, and moving that backlog is a separate job. When the trigger is tested, Zapier does show the three most recent notifications, but that is only so the fields can be mapped on a real item. Publish the Zap first, then count on new notifications only. That rule holds on every plan, free or paid.
06What if the LaunchSoft operation you need is not on Zapier?
Then this integration cannot do it today. LaunchSoft offers one trigger, New Notification, and no action or search, so a Zap cannot create, change or look up anything inside LaunchSoft. Everything the Zap does happens in the other apps it connects. If the job means writing into LaunchSoft or reading something other than new notifications, it sits outside what the Zapier app covers, and another route has to be found.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for LaunchSoft?
It depends on your criteria, not on a ranking. On Zapier the facts are clear: one polling trigger, no premium restriction, and a free plan of 100 tasks a month limited to two-step Zaps. For Make and n8n, first check whether each one offers a LaunchSoft connector at all and what it can do. Then compare what a run costs, how often new notifications are checked, and how much setup you are ready to handle.
