Overview

What the AgentSmith Zapier integration does for you

AgentSmith is an AI voice agent that handles calls and captures leads. Hooked to Zapier, it reports two moments, a call session that ends and a lead who fills in a form or the widget, and it lets other steps file contacts on lists or stick tags on them. You set the rule once; each call or form after that runs it.

Three outcomes cover most setups. A clean list of inbound prospects: a real estate team sends every widget submission from Get Lead into Add Contact to List, and the contact is created on the way if it did not exist. Tags that tell sales who has already been called: Get Conversation fires when a call wraps up, then Add Tag to Contact marks the person, and a missing tag is created for you. A pipeline that cleans itself: the same finished call can run Remove Tag From Contact to drop a label such as Hot Lead once the conversation has happened.

What Zapier does not do here matters just as much. There is no search step, so a Zap cannot look up an AgentSmith contact and reuse its details. Every action writes to contacts, lists or tags: nothing creates a campaign, edits a call or reads a transcript on demand. If your idea needs one of those, it is not on the menu.

Vocabulary

Zapier words in one minute

Eight terms come back on every line below. Here they are once, in plain words.

Zap
The automation you build: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every single time that trigger event happens.
Trigger
The event in an app that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is switched on, Zapier sits and waits for that event.
Action
What the Zap does after it starts: the step that writes, sends or moves something in an app on your behalf.
Task
The unit Zapier bills: one action that completes successfully. The number on your plan counts nothing else.
Instant trigger
A trigger the app reports itself. It calls Zapier the moment the event happens, so nothing waits for a timer.
Polling trigger
A trigger Zapier checks on a timer, asking the app for new items and keeping only the ones it has not seen before.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap carry on only when the data that arrived meets your condition, and stops it otherwise.
Connection
Your AgentSmith account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every step in every Zap that touches AgentSmith.
Cost

What it really costs

AgentSmith is not a premium app, so it works on the free plan. The bill is counted in tasks, never in calls or leads.

  • Trigger0 tasks
  • Each successful action1 task
  • Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps
  • Premium appNo

The trigger costs nothing. Each action that goes through counts as one task, and a failed one is not charged, so a Zap that lists and then tags a lead spends two. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and Zaps of two steps only: a second action or a filter makes it a multi-step Zap, which needs a paid plan. The interval grid below concerns polling triggers; both AgentSmith triggers are instant, so it does not slow them down.

Connect

Connect AgentSmith to Zapier

  1. 01

    Open the Apps page

In your Zapier account, go to Apps and click + Add connection. You need an AgentSmith account first, plus access to any lists or campaigns that belong to someone else and that the Zap will touch.

  2. 02

    Pick AgentSmith

Type AgentSmith in the search box of the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. A new browser tab opens on the AgentSmith side to identify you.

  3. 03

    Sign in and grant access

Log in to AgentSmith in that tab and allow Zapier to use the account. The connection then appears in your list and every future Zap can reuse it without asking again.

First Zap

Your first Zap: file and tag every new lead

GoalEach lead from the AgentSmith widget lands on a follow-up list with a tag your sales team can sort by.

  1. 01

    Create the Zap

Click Create, then Zap. Choose AgentSmith as the trigger app and Get Lead as the event, then select the AgentSmith connection you added earlier.

  2. 02

    Choose the campaigns

Pick the campaign or campaigns whose forms should start the Zap. Leads from campaigns left unticked will not set it off.

  3. 03

    Test the trigger

Run the test. Zapier fetches the three most recent leads of the account, so submit one test form beforehand if the campaign is brand new.

  4. 04

    Add the two actions

Add Add Contact to List, pick the list and map the email or mobile from the sample lead. Then add Add Tag to Contact with a tag such as Inbound. Two actions make this a paid-plan Zap.

  5. 05

    Test, then publish

Test each action and check the contact in AgentSmith. When the list and the tag look right, click Publish to switch the Zap on.

Triggers

AgentSmith triggers

2 events start a Zap when something happens in AgentSmith, and 2 of them are instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.

1

Get Conversation

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a call session completes in Ai Agent Smith.”

Starts your Zap once an AgentSmith call session is over, so the next steps can act on a conversation that has fully ended rather than one still in progress.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
a recruiting agency wants each candidate tagged as screened the minute the AI agent hangs up.
Watch out
the Campaigns field is required, so the Zap only listens to the campaigns you tick; add a campaign later and you must come back and select it.
2

Get Lead

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a lead submits the form or widget form.”

Fires each time someone submits an AgentSmith form or the widget form, which makes it the entry door for fresh prospects into the rest of your tools.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
a property agency drops every viewing request into a list the agents work through.
Watch out
like the call trigger, it asks you to choose one or more campaigns, and leads from any other campaign never reach the Zap.
Actions

AgentSmith actions

AgentSmith gives you 3 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Add Contact to List

Action

In Zapier“Adds a contact to a list. Creates the contact if they don't already exist.”

Puts a person on one of your AgentSmith lists, and creates that contact first if the account has never seen them.

When to use it
group webinar sign-ups on a dedicated list before the voice agent calls them back.
Watch out
give it an email or a mobile number; at least one of the two is required.
2

Add Tag to Contact

Action

In Zapier“Adds one or more tags to an existing contact by email or mobile. Tags are created automatically if they don't exist.”

Sticks one or more labels on a contact that already exists, found by email or mobile. A tag that does not exist yet is created on the fly.

When to use it
flag a caller as Customer once a payment tool confirms the order.
Watch out
several tags go in one field, separated by commas, and a name that does not exist yet becomes a new tag, so a typo quietly adds one.
3

Remove Tag From Contact

Action

In Zapier“Removes one or more tags from an existing contact by email or mobile.”

Takes one or more labels off an existing contact, again matched by email or mobile, so outdated statuses stop cluttering your segments.

When to use it
drop the Hot Lead tag as soon as a call session with that person has finished.
Watch out
a tag that is missing or not assigned is only reported, not treated as an error, so the step looks green even when nothing changed.
When it breaks

When the AgentSmith Zap breaks

Zapier links no help article to AgentSmith and lists no rate limit for it. What goes wrong comes from Zapier's general rules and from the fields of the actions.

These are the cases worth knowing before you switch the Zap on. For a deeper diagnosis, the Zapier troubleshooting page walks through the usual cases.

  • Old leads never show up

A Zap only reacts to what happens after you switch it on. Calls and leads from before are not picked up; moving that backlog is a separate job.
  • A bulk import gets held back

If a trigger suddenly returns a huge batch, for example after a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold it back.
  • No email and no mobile

Add Contact to List needs one of the two. A lead that came in without either makes the action fail, and that failed run costs no task.
  • A tag removal that did nothing

Remove Tag From Contact reports tags it could not find instead of failing. Read the step output if a label seems to stick around.

FAQ

AgentSmith and Zapier: common questions

01Is the AgentSmith Zapier integration free?
Yes, as long as your Zap stays at two steps. AgentSmith is not a premium app, so the free plan can use it, with 100 tasks a month. A Zap made of Get Lead plus Add Contact to List fits. The moment you add a second action, such as a tag after the list, or a filter, the Zap becomes multi-step and Zapier asks for a paid plan. Pricing itself changes too often to be quoted here, so check the plan page before you commit.
02How many tasks does an AgentSmith Zap use?
One task per action that succeeds, and nothing for the trigger. A finished call that runs Add Tag to Contact costs one task. A Zap that adds a lead to a list and then tags it costs two per lead. An action that fails is not counted. Zapier notes that a few apps and actions use more than one task, so read the task history after the first runs to see your real consumption on AgentSmith.
03Does AgentSmith reach Zapier in real time?
Yes. Get Conversation and Get Lead are both instant triggers: AgentSmith calls Zapier as soon as a call ends or a form comes in. The interval grid that slows polling triggers, 15 minutes on the free plan, does not apply to them. In the editor, a Zap built on an instant trigger carries a lightning bolt. That makes AgentSmith one of the apps where the free plan feels just as fast as a paid one.
04What does it take to connect AgentSmith to Zapier?
An AgentSmith account and a Zapier account. You add the connection from the Apps page with + Add connection, sign in to AgentSmith in the tab that opens, then grant access. If the Zap touches lists or campaigns owned by a colleague, you also need read or write access to them. Prepare at least one campaign and one list beforehand, because the triggers and the list action both require you to pick one.
05Why does a Get Lead Zap miss some leads?
Most often because their campaign is not ticked. Both AgentSmith triggers have a required Campaigns field, and the Zap listens only to the campaigns you selected while setting it up. A campaign you create later is not added automatically, so open the trigger, select it, and publish again. Also remember that leads submitted before the Zap was switched on are never picked up afterwards. When in doubt, test the trigger again: it should bring back a lead from the newly ticked campaign.
06What if the AgentSmith action you need is not there?
Then Zapier cannot do it directly with this app. The visible list is short: two triggers and three actions on contacts, lists and tags, with no search step. Creating a campaign or starting a call is not offered. The usual workaround is to let another tool handle that part and keep Zapier for what it covers: new calls, new leads, lists and tags. Check the action list in the editor first, since the page reflects what Zapier showed when it was read.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for AgentSmith?
It depends on what you value most. Zapier gives you two instant triggers and three contact actions ready to use, with a short setup and no hosting to manage. On Make or n8n, check first which AgentSmith operations they offer, since this page only covers Zapier. Weigh the number of steps per run, who maintains the flows, and whether you need operations that this Zapier app does not expose. None of them is the right answer for every team.
