The LeadDyno Zapier integration offers 3 triggers, 4 actions and 2 searches. New affiliates, leads and purchases can flow out of LeadDyno, and the sales your shop records can flow back in, so your referral program stays in step with the rest of your tools.

What the LeadDyno Zapier integration is for
LeadDyno runs affiliate and referral programs: it tracks who your partners are, which leads they send and which purchases follow. With Zapier, you build a Zap (an automation that waits for an event in one app, then runs steps in others) so that this data moves between LeadDyno and your other tools on its own.
Three results show up again and again. A sales log your finance team trusts: New Purchase copies each referred sale into a spreadsheet, ready for commission checks. Partners onboarded from one form: a sign-up form feeds Create Affiliate, and the new partner exists in LeadDyno without anyone typing. Sales credited even when they happen elsewhere: Find Lead followed by Create Purchase records an order from another checkout against the right customer, so the right affiliate gets credit.
Know the limits before you build. All three triggers are polling triggers: Zapier checks LeadDyno on a timer, so on the free plan a new purchase can wait up to 15 minutes before your Zap sees it. There is no action to delete anything, and no way to update a lead or a purchase once it exists; only affiliates can be edited, through Update Affiliate. If those gaps matter, the n8n vs Zapier and Make vs Zapier comparisons help you check whether another tool suits the job better.
Zapier words in one minute
Eight terms come back across this page. Here they are in plain words.
- Zap
- The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time that trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is on, Zapier simply waits for that event.
- Action
- What the Zap does once it has started: the step that writes, sends or moves something on your behalf.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills. One task is one action your Zap completed successfully, and your plan counts those.
- Polling vs instant
- A polling trigger is checked by Zapier on a timer set by your plan. An instant one is reported by the app the moment it happens.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap continue only when what arrived meets your condition, and stops it quietly otherwise.
- Search step
- A step that looks up something already in an app, so the steps after it can use what it found.
- Multi-step Zap
- Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action, a filter or a search makes one, and it then needs a paid plan.
What a LeadDyno Zap really costs
Zapier bills tasks, and only a successful action produces one. LeadDyno is not a premium app, so it works from the free plan.
- Trigger and checks0 tasks
- Each successful action1 task
- Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps only
- LeadDyno premium? No, available on the free plan
The trigger never costs a task, and neither do Zapier's regular checks of LeadDyno for new affiliates, leads or purchases. Each successful action counts on its own; a failed one is not billed. The free plan gives you 100 tasks a month and Zaps of two steps only. That covers New Purchase to a spreadsheet, but not the Find Lead plus Create Purchase pattern: a search, a filter or a second action makes the Zap multi-step, which needs a paid plan. Since every LeadDyno trigger polls, the plan you pick also sets how fast a Zap reacts.
Connect LeadDyno to Zapier in 3 steps
- 01
Open your connections
In Zapier, go to the Apps page of your account and click + Add connection. A connection is your LeadDyno account linked once, then reused by every Zap that touches it. You need a LeadDyno account first.
- 02
Pick LeadDyno
Type LeadDyno in the dialog's search box, select it, then click Add connection. A new browser tab opens on the LeadDyno side, which is where you actually sign in.
- 03
Sign in and grant access
Log in to LeadDyno in that tab and allow Zapier to reach the account. If the Zap will touch affiliates or leads that someone else manages, make sure your account has read or write access to them.
Your first LeadDyno Zap
GoalAdd each new affiliate to your email tool, but only those that meet the condition you set.
- 01
Pick the trigger
Create a Zap, choose LeadDyno as the app and New Affiliate as the event, then select your LeadDyno connection. Zapier will check for new partners on your plan's interval.
- 02
Test on real partners
Run the trigger test. Zapier brings back the three most recent affiliates of your account, so you can set up the next steps on a real partner instead of placeholder data.
- 03
Add the filter
Click the plus icon, pick Filter, then fill the three boxes: the field to look at, the rule, and the value to compare with. Pick a text rule for text and a number rule for numbers.
- 04
Add the email step
Add your email tool as the action and map the affiliate's email and name into its contact fields. The filter makes this a multi-step Zap, so it needs a paid plan.
- 05
Test and publish
Test each step and read what came back, then publish to switch the Zap on. Only affiliates created after that moment go through; existing partners are not picked up.
LeadDyno triggers on Zapier
3 events start a Zap when something happens in LeadDyno. Zapier checks for them at the interval your plan allows.
New Affiliate
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new affiliate is created.”
Starts your Zap each time a partner joins your LeadDyno program, whether they signed up themselves or were added by you or another Zap.
New Lead
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new lead is created.”
Fires when LeadDyno records a new lead, the person an affiliate sent your way. It is the earliest moment you know a referral worked, well before any sale.
New Purchase
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new purchase is created.”
Runs when a purchase is created in LeadDyno, which is the event that turns into commission. Most programs build their reporting on this one.
LeadDyno actions on Zapier
LeadDyno gives you 4 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.
Operations index
Create Affiliate
ActionIn Zapier“Creates a new affiliate.”
Adds a new partner to your LeadDyno program straight from another tool, so onboarding no longer means copying details by hand.
Create Lead
ActionIn Zapier“Creates a new lead.”
Registers a lead in LeadDyno when the person shows up somewhere LeadDyno does not see, like a webinar list or a booking tool.
Create Purchase
ActionIn Zapier“Creates a new purchase”
Records a sale in LeadDyno against a customer, which is what lets the referring affiliate get credit for orders taken outside LeadDyno's own tracking.
Update Affiliate
ActionIn Zapier“Updates an existing affiliate.”
Changes the details of a partner already in LeadDyno, the only edit this integration allows on existing records.
LeadDyno searches on Zapier
2 search steps look for data that already exists in LeadDyno, so a later step can use it.
A search step finds an affiliate or a lead that already exists, so later steps can use it. Both LeadDyno searches also come as a find-or-create version, which creates the record when nothing turns up. Three settings decide what happens when the search does not find exactly one match.
Find Affiliate
SearchFind or createIn Zapier“Finds an affiliate.”
Looks up a partner by their ID or email, so a later step can update them or tie a sale to them. In the editor it also appears as Find or Create Affiliate: same search, with the create box ticked.
Find Lead
SearchFind or createIn Zapier“Finds a lead by email.”
Finds a lead from their email or ID, which is how a Zap connects an outside order to the right referred customer. Find or Create Lead is this same search, set to create the lead when none exists.
The three settings every search exposes
- Successful if no search results are found?Left on its default, a search that finds nothing stops the Zap there and skips the steps that depend on it. Switched on, the Zap carries on without a result.
- Create X if it doesn't exist yet?Ticking it turns the search into a find-or-create. The setting above disappears and the step asks for the fields needed to create the missing record.
- If multiple search results are found?Three ways out: keep the first match, which is the default, stop the Zap, or hand every match on to the next steps.
When a LeadDyno Zap breaks
Zapier links no help article to LeadDyno and documents no limit specific to it. What breaks here is what breaks on any Zap, with one loop this app makes easy.
Read these four cases before you publish. If a Zap already acts up, the Zapier troubleshooting guide runs through the checks in order.
Past records are never replayed
A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. Affiliates, leads and purchases already in LeadDyno stay out; moving that backlog is a separate job.The lead loop
Starting on New Lead and ending with Create Lead adds a lead LeadDyno will report as new, which starts the Zap again and burns tasks until you stop it.A bulk import gets held back
Import a big batch of affiliates or purchases and the next check returns a huge pile. Zapier's flood protection can hold those runs back instead of firing them all.No double runs on the same item
Zapier remembers what it has already seen on a polling trigger, so the same purchase never starts the Zap twice.
