Leap AI Zapier integrationAutomate Leap AI with Zapier.
The Leap AI Zapier integration gives you 2 actions and no trigger or search step. One starts an AI workflow you built in Leap AI, the other fetches a workflow run. Another app has to start the Zap. Here is how each piece works and where it breaks.

What the Leap AI Zapier integration actually does
Leap AI is a platform for adding image or text generation to your apps and workflows. Through Zapier, it can be one step of a Zap, the automation that starts with a trigger (an event in some app) and continues with actions (the work done next). Leap AI only offers actions, so it always sits after the trigger.
Three results this makes possible. AI output on every new entry: a new item lands in another tool, and Run Workflow sends it to the AI workflow you prepared in Leap AI. A run you can come back to: Retrieve Workflow Run fetches a given run by its ID, so a later step can pick up what the workflow produced. One workflow, many sources: since the action only needs a Workflow ID, the same Leap AI workflow can sit behind several Zaps, each started by a different app.
Now the limits. Leap AI has no trigger on Zapier, so nothing inside Leap AI can start a Zap: another app always has to. There is no search step either, so a Zap cannot look up a workflow or a run by name. Both actions need an ID, and those IDs have to come from your Leap AI account or from an earlier step. Zapier also does not build the workflow for you: it must exist in Leap AI before the Zap can run it.
If those limits weigh on your flow, read the n8n vs Zapier comparison before you pick a platform for your AI steps.
Zapier vocabulary in one minute
Seven words come back through this page. Here they are in plain terms.
- Zap
- The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time that trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event that starts a Zap. Leap AI has none on Zapier, so the trigger always comes from another app you use.
- Action
- What the Zap does once it has started. Leap AI offers two: starting an AI workflow and fetching a workflow run.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills: one action your Zap completed successfully. Your plan counts how many of those you get each month.
- Polling vs instant
- A polling trigger is checked on a timer, an instant one is pushed by the app. With Leap AI, it depends on the app that starts the Zap.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap carry on only when the incoming data meets your condition, and quietly stops it otherwise.
- Connection
- Your Leap AI account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every Zap step that calls Leap AI, whatever starts the Zap.
What a Leap AI Zap really costs
Zapier counts tasks, not Zaps. The trigger, whichever app it comes from, never costs anything; checking for new data is free too.
- Trigger and checksFree
- Each Leap AI action that works1 task
- Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps
- Premium appNo
Each Leap AI action that completes is one task, and an action that fails is not counted. A Zap that runs a workflow and then retrieves the run uses two tasks per pass. Leap AI is not a premium app, so it works on the free plan: 100 tasks a month, unlimited Zaps. The hidden limit is that free Zaps stop at two steps, one trigger and one action. Chaining both Leap AI actions, or adding a filter, makes a multi-step Zap, which needs a paid plan. How fast the Zap starts depends on the trigger app, using the grid below if it polls.
Connect your Leap AI account to Zapier
- 01
Open Apps in Zapier
Go to the Apps page of your Zapier account and click + Add connection. You need a Leap AI account first, with access to the workflows you plan to run.
- 02
Choose Leap AI
Search for Leap AI in the dialog that opens, pick it, then click Add connection. A new browser tab appears on the Leap AI side, ready for you to sign in.
- 03
Sign in and grant access
Log in to Leap AI in that tab and allow Zapier to use the account. The connection is saved once, and every Zap that calls Leap AI afterwards reuses it.
Your first Leap AI Zap, step by step
GoalSend each new form entry to a Leap AI workflow, but only the entries that pass your filter.
- 01
Pick the trigger in another app
Leap AI has no trigger, so start the Zap with your form tool and its new-entry event. Connect that account and choose the form to watch.
- 02
Test the trigger
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent entries of the connected account, so you map the next steps on a real one.
- 03
Add the filter
From the plus icon, add Filter and fill in the field to check, the rule and the value. A text rule only works on text, so match the rule to the data.
- 04
Add Run Workflow
Add Leap AI, event
Run Workflow, and select your connection. Fill the required Workflow ID with the workflow you prepared in Leap AI, then map the entry data. - 05
Test, then publish
Test the action once and check the run in Leap AI. Then click Publish. With the filter, this is a three-step Zap, which needs a paid plan.
Leap AI actions on Zapier
Leap AI gives you 2 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.
Operations index
Retrieve Workflow Run
ActionIn Zapier“Retrieves a Workflow Run.”
Fetches one specific run of a Leap AI workflow, so the next steps of your Zap can read what that run returned. The only required field is the Workflow Run ID.
Run Workflow
ActionIn Zapier“Trigger an AI workflow.”
Starts an AI workflow you built in Leap AI, with the data coming from the trigger. It is the core of this integration, the action that actually puts a workflow to work. One field is required, the Workflow ID.
When a Leap AI Zap breaks
Zapier links one help article to this app, How to get started with Leap AI on Zapier. The cases below come from the general Zapier limits, applied to Leap AI.
Leap AI only acts after another app has started the Zap, so the weak spots sit on both sides: the trigger app and the IDs Leap AI expects. Here are the four to check before you publish. For problems that are not specific to Leap AI, see the Zapier troubleshooting guide.
Old items never go through
A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. Entries that existed before in your trigger app are never sent to Leap AI; processing that backlog is a separate job.A workflow ID that does not exist
Run Workflow needs a Workflow ID from your Leap AI account. If the workflow is missing or out of reach for the connected user, the action fails and the run never starts.A Zap that restarts itself
If the Zap writes its AI output back into the very place its trigger watches, it sets itself off again and again and burns through your tasks fast.Bulk imports get held back
When the trigger app suddenly returns a huge batch, after an import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold it back instead of running every item.
