Learn Amp Zapier integrationAutomate Learn Amp with Zapier.

The Learn Amp Zapier integration gives you 5 triggers, 4 actions and 0 searches. It works both ways: new users, enrollments, channels, items and learnlists can start a Zap, and a Zap can create users, teams and enrollments in Learn Amp. Here is what each one does and what it costs.

Overview

What the Learn Amp Zapier integration actually does

Learn Amp is a people development platform: learning content, connections between colleagues and performance tracking in one place. With Zapier, it can both send and receive. Things created in Learn Amp can start an automation, and an automation can create users, teams and event enrollments in Learn Amp for you.

Three results worth building first. Accounts that open themselves: a new row in the spreadsheet where you list newcomers becomes a Learn Amp account through Create User, with the right system role from day one. Teams that stay in order: Create Team sets up a team and Create Team Member places people in it, so the structure in Learn Amp follows the one you already keep elsewhere. A record of who signs up: New Enrollment sends every new enrollment to another app, so the people organizing a session see the list grow without opening Learn Amp.

What Zapier does not do for Learn Amp matters as much. There is no search, so a Zap cannot check whether a user already exists before creating one, and Learn Amp refuses an email that is already in use in your company. There is no update and no delete: the four actions only create. And all five triggers work by polling, so there is always a short wait between an event in Learn Amp and the moment Zapier notices it.

If you plan to run several of these flows at once, a short Zapier training pays off before you wire users and teams together, because mistakes here create real accounts.

Vocabulary

Zapier vocabulary in one minute

Seven words carry this page. Here they are, once, in plain English.

Zap
The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time the trigger event happens.
Trigger
The event in an app that starts the Zap; once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it. Learn Amp offers five of them.
Action
What the Zap does once it has started: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you, like creating a Learn Amp user.
Task
The unit Zapier bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. The number on your plan is a count of those.
Polling trigger
A trigger Zapier checks on a timer: it asks the app for new items at a fixed interval and keeps only what it has not seen yet.
Instant trigger
A trigger the app reports itself, the moment the event happens. Learn Amp has none: all five of its triggers are polling ones.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap go on only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
Cost

What a Learn Amp Zap really costs

Learn Amp is not a premium app, so it runs on the free plan. Zapier bills in tasks, and only the actions produce them.

  • Free plan100 tasks per month, unlimited Zaps
  • Premium appNo, Learn Amp works on the free plan
  • Triggers5, all polling, never billed
  • Costs a taskEach successful Learn Amp action

The five Learn Amp triggers never cost a task, and neither do the checks Zapier runs to find new users or enrollments. Each action that succeeds counts once: a user created, a team created, a member added, an enrollment made. A failed action, such as a duplicate email, is not counted. On the free plan Zapier checks every 15 minutes and a Zap stays at two steps. Creating a team and then adding a member is two actions, so that Zap is multi-step and needs a paid plan.

Connect

Connect your Learn Amp account in three steps

  1. 01

Add Learn Amp from your apps

In your Zapier account, open Apps and click + Add connection. Search for Learn Amp in the dialog and select it. You do this once: every Learn Amp step in every Zap reuses the connection.

  2. 02

    Sign in to Learn Amp

Click Add connection. A Learn Amp tab opens: sign in with an account allowed to create users and teams if you plan to use the actions, not only to read what others created.

  3. 03

    Grant access

Allow Zapier to use the account when Learn Amp asks. Back in Zapier, the connection appears in your list and can be chosen from the account menu of any Learn Amp trigger or action.

First Zap

Your first Zap: put every new Learn Amp user in a team

GoalEach user created in Learn Amp is added to a team, but only when they match the condition you set.

  1. 01

    Pick the trigger

Start a new Zap from your Zapier account. Choose Learn Amp as the app, New User as the event, and select your Learn Amp connection.

  2. 02

    Test on real users

Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent users of the connected account, so you map the next steps on a real person rather than empty values.

  3. 03

    Add the filter

Click the plus icon, choose Filter, and set the field to look at, the rule and the value. Only the users who pass go on; this step makes the Zap multi-step, so it needs a paid plan.

  4. 04

    Add Create Team Member

Add Learn Amp as the action app and choose Create Team Member. Fill in the boxes the step shows with the details of the user coming from the trigger, then pick the team they should join.

  5. 05

    Test and publish

Test the step and check the team in Learn Amp. Then click Publish: Zapier checks for new users at your plan's interval and places each one that passes.

Triggers

The Learn Amp triggers

5 events start a Zap when something happens in Learn Amp. Zapier checks for them at the interval your plan allows.

1

New Channel

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a new channel is created.”

Starts your Zap when Zapier's next check finds a channel newly created in Learn Amp. The new channel's details travel to the next step, so another app can announce it or log it.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one
When to use it
you want the people who never open Learn Amp to hear about a new channel in the tool they do use.
Watch out
only channels created after the Zap is published come through.
2

New Enrollment

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a new enrollment is created.”

Runs every time an enrollment is created in Learn Amp, carrying who enrolled into the steps that follow. It is the natural partner of a sign-up sheet kept outside the platform.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one
When to use it
the organizer of a session wants a running list of enrollments in a spreadsheet or a message.
Watch out
pairing it with Enroll User on the same account can loop, each enrollment triggering another one.
3

New Item

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a new item is created.”

Fires on each item newly created in Learn Amp, so the arrival of fresh content can set off whatever comes next in another app. The item's details become available for mapping.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one
When to use it
you keep a catalogue of content outside Learn Amp and want each new item added without copying it by hand.
Watch out
a bulk upload can return a large batch that Zapier's flood protection holds back.
4

New Learnlist

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a new learnlist is created.”

Picks up every learnlist created in Learn Amp and hands it to the next step. Useful when a new learnlist is news that other people should receive somewhere else.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one
When to use it
managers want to know when a learnlist goes up, without checking the platform themselves.
Watch out
learnlists that existed before the Zap was switched on are never sent.
5

New User

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a new user is created.”

Reacts to each user created in Learn Amp and passes that person's details down the Zap. It is the starting point for keeping another list of people in step with Learn Amp.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one
When to use it
a newcomer arriving in Learn Amp should also appear in a spreadsheet or trigger a welcome message.
Watch out
never combine it with Create User on the same account, or each new user creates the next.
Actions

The Learn Amp actions

Learn Amp gives you 4 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Create Team Member

Action

In Zapier“Creates a Team Member in the Team”

Places a person in an existing Learn Amp team, so the team's roster grows as people are assigned.

When to use it
right after Create User, to put a newcomer straight into the team they joined.
Watch out
chaining it after another action makes the Zap multi-step, so it needs a paid plan.
2

Enroll User

Action

In Zapier“Enrols a user to an event session”

Signs a user up for an event session in Learn Amp, using the event name you give it.

When to use it
registrations are collected outside the platform and should land in the right session automatically.
Watch out
Event Name is required, so the trigger must carry it or you type it in the step.
3

Create Team

Action

In Zapier“Creates a team”

Need a new team in Learn Amp? This action sets one up, and the team name is the one box it will not run without.

When to use it
a new group is formed elsewhere and Learn Amp should reflect it right away.
Watch out
with no search on Learn Amp, the Zap cannot tell whether a team with that name already exists.
4

Create User

Action

In Zapier“Creates a new user in LearnAmp”

Opens a Learn Amp account for someone, with their name and system role, from whatever started the Zap.

When to use it
newcomers are listed somewhere else first and should get their access without anyone typing it again.
Watch out
Email, First Name, Last Name and System Role are required, and the email must be unique within the company.
When it breaks

When a Learn Amp Zap breaks

Zapier publishes no help article and no rate limit specific to Learn Amp. The failures below are the general ones, sharpened by an app that both sends and creates.

Four cases come back most. They rarely show while you build; they appear once the Zap runs on real people. If a run fails and the cause is unclear, start from our Zapier troubleshooting page.

  • The Zap feeds itself

New User plus Create User, or New Enrollment plus Enroll User, on the same account: each run creates what the trigger watches, and the task count burns fast.
  • The user already exists

Create User needs an email unique within the company. With no search step to check first, a returning address makes the action fail, and that run stops.
  • Past records never arrive

A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. Users, items or enrollments created before stay out; moving them is a separate job.
  • A bulk import gets held back

If Learn Amp suddenly returns a huge batch, after an import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold those items back instead of running the Zap for each.

FAQ

Learn Amp Zapier integration: frequent questions

01Is the Learn Amp Zapier integration free?
Yes, on Zapier's side. Learn Amp is not a premium app, so its five triggers and four actions work on the free plan, which includes 100 tasks per month and unlimited Zaps. The free plan only builds two-step Zaps, though: one trigger and one action. Creating a user and then placing them in a team is two actions, so that Zap is multi-step and needs a paid plan. A filter has the same effect. You also need a Learn Amp account.
02How many tasks does a Learn Amp Zap use?
One per successful action. The five triggers are free, and so are the checks Zapier runs to find new users, items or enrollments. Each user created, team created, member added or enrollment made counts once. An action that fails, for example because the email is already taken, is not counted. A Zap that creates a user and then adds them to a team costs two tasks per newcomer, one for each action that goes through.
03Does Learn Amp work in real time with Zapier?
No. All five Learn Amp triggers are polling triggers: Zapier asks Learn Amp for new records at a fixed interval. That interval depends on the plan: every 15 minutes on Free, every 2 minutes on Professional, every minute on Team and Enterprise. On paid plans the frequency can be changed, and a check can be run by hand from the editor. The type is decided on Learn Amp's side and cannot be switched from the editor.
04What does connecting Learn Amp to Zapier require?
A Learn Amp account, plus the rights to create users, teams and enrollments if you plan to use the actions. The connection is made once: Apps page of your Zapier account, + Add connection, search for Learn Amp, sign in in the tab that opens, then grant access. Every Learn Amp step afterwards can pick it from its account menu. Reading new records only needs access to them; writing needs more.
05Why does Create User fail on some rows?
Usually because of the email or a missing field. Create User requires an Email, a First Name, a Last Name and a System Role, and the email must be unique within the company. A row with an address already used in Learn Amp, or with an empty role, stops the action. Since Learn Amp offers no search on Zapier, the Zap cannot check beforehand. Clean the source list, or add a filter that lets through only complete rows.
06What if the Learn Amp operation you are after is not in Zapier?
Then it is not available on Zapier for now. Learn Amp offers five triggers on new records and four actions that create users, teams, team members and enrollments. There is no search, no update and no delete. Asking Learn Amp whether it plans to extend its Zapier app is the cleanest route. Meanwhile, changes to existing users or teams stay in Learn Amp itself, or go through another automation tool if Learn Amp exposes them there.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for Learn Amp?
It depends on the criterion, not on a ranking. To create users or enrollments from a list kept elsewhere, or to send new records out, Zapier covers it with its nine visible operations and a free plan for two-step Zaps. If you need to update or look up existing users, Zapier offers neither for Learn Amp, so check what each tool exposes first. Then weigh billing against your volume, since Zapier counts one task per successful action.
