Legnext Zapier integrationAutomate Legnext with Zapier.

The Legnext Zapier integration gives you 0 triggers, 9 actions and 1 search. Zapier can ask Legnext to generate, extend, vary or upscale AI images, and find a past job by its ID. Something else has to start the Zap, since Legnext never does.

Overview

What the Legnext Zapier integration actually does

Legnext runs AI image generation for you, with nothing to install. Plugged into Zapier, it becomes a step you can call from any other app: a prompt arrives somewhere, and Legnext turns it into images without anyone opening its interface. Everything is driven by a Job ID that each generation returns.

Three results show up again and again. A set of four images from a single line of text: Create Image Grid takes a prompt and starts a 2x2 grid, then Upscale Image enlarges the one you pick. A cleaner prompt before you spend a generation: Create Shorten strips a long prompt down to its essentials, and Describe Image works the other way, reading an existing picture and suggesting words for it. Reworked versions of a grid you already have: Create Variation, Create Reroll, Create Pan and Create Outpaint all start from the Job ID of an earlier job.

What Zapier does not do for Legnext: there is no trigger. Legnext never tells Zapier that an image is ready, so a Zap cannot start from it. Each Zap begins in another tool (a spreadsheet, a form) and calls Legnext as an action. Chaining several Legnext steps also means a multi-step Zap, which the free plan does not allow.

Vocabulary

Zapier vocabulary in one minute

Seven words do the heavy lifting on this page. Here they are, once, in plain English.

Zap
The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time the trigger event happens.
Trigger
The event in an app that starts the Zap. Legnext has none, so the trigger always comes from another app, like a new spreadsheet row.
Action
What the Zap does once it has started: the step that writes, sends or creates something. All nine Legnext operations of this kind are actions.
Task
The unit Zapier bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. The number on your plan counts those, nothing else.
Polling vs instant
Polling: Zapier checks an app on a timer for new items. Instant: the app tells Zapier itself. It concerns the trigger app here, never Legnext.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap go on only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
Search step
A step that looks up something that already exists in an app, so the steps after it can use what it found. Legnext has one.
Cost

What Legnext really costs you on Zapier

Legnext is not a premium app: it works from the free plan. The bill is counted in tasks, and every Legnext step is an action, so every successful one counts.

  • Premium appNo, available on the free plan
  • Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps only
  • TriggerNever counted, and it comes from another app
  • Failed actionNot counted

The trigger never costs a task. Each Legnext action that completes counts one; an action that fails does not. The free plan gives you 100 tasks a month, but only two-step Zaps: one trigger, one action. A spreadsheet row that calls Create Image Grid fits. Add Upscale Image behind it, a filter or the Find Image Grid search, and the Zap turns multi-step, which needs a paid plan. A grid followed by an upscale costs two tasks per prompt.

Connect

Connect your Legnext account in three steps

  1. 01

    Open the Apps page

In your Zapier account, go to Apps and click + Add connection. A connection is your Legnext account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every Legnext step of every Zap.

  2. 02

    Find Legnext in the dialog

Search for Legnext in the dialog, select it and click Add connection. You need an existing Legnext account, plus access to anything you do not own yourself that the Zap should use.

  3. 03

    Sign in and grant access

A new tab opens on Legnext. Sign in, then grant Zapier access to your account. Once you are back in Zapier, the connection appears in the list, ready for your first action.

First Zap

Your first Zap: from a spreadsheet prompt to an upscaled image

GoalEach prompt typed in a new spreadsheet row becomes a Legnext image grid, and the image you choose by its position comes back upscaled.

  1. 01

Create the Zap and pick the trigger

Start a new Zap and choose your spreadsheet with its new-row event. Test it: Zapier brings back the three most recent rows, so pick one with a real prompt in it.

  2. 02

    Add Create Image Grid

Add Legnext as the next step with Create Image Grid, select your connection, and map the prompt column into Prompt Text. The step hands back a Job ID.

  3. 03

    Add Upscale Image

Add a second Legnext step, Upscale Image. Map the Job ID from the step above, set the image index from 0 to 3, then choose Subtle or Creative as the upscale type.

  4. 04

    Test each step

Run each step once and read what came back before moving on. A wrong index or an empty prompt shows up here, not in production.

  5. 05

    Publish

Click Publish to switch the Zap on. With two actions it is a multi-step Zap: it needs a paid plan and costs two tasks per row.

Actions

The 9 Legnext actions

Legnext gives you 9 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Create Blend

Action

In Zapier“Combine 2-5 images into a single unique creation with seamless blending”

Merges two to five pictures into one new image. You give it their URLs and pick a portrait, square or landscape shape.

When to use it
a form collects several reference images and you want one combined visual out of them.
Watch out
every URL has to be public and point to a PNG, JPG or WEBP file, or the blend fails.
2

Create Image Grid

Action

In Zapier“Generates a 2x2 image grid from a prompt. Returns the Job Id”

Starts here for most Zaps: you send a prompt and Legnext produces a 2x2 grid of images, then returns the Job ID of that generation.

When to use it
a new row, form answer or message carries a prompt and should turn into images without anyone touching Legnext.
Watch out
keep that Job ID, every rework action below depends on it.
3

Create Outpaint

Action

In Zapier“Extend existing images in all directions using outpainting to expand the visual content beyond the original boundaries.”

Pushes the edges of one grid image outward in every direction, filling the new space according to an extra prompt you write.

When to use it
a square image needs more background around the subject, with a hint about texture or lighting.
Watch out
the scale ratio only goes from 1.1 to 2.0 here.
4

Create Pan

Action

In Zapier“Extend existing images in a single specified direction, allowing for precise directional expansion of your content.”

Extends one grid image in a single direction only: down, right, up or left, each picked by a number from 0 to 3.

When to use it
the picture needs more room on one side, for a banner shape for instance, and nowhere else.
Watch out
the scale ratio can reach 3.0 here, higher than on Create Outpaint.
5

Create Reroll

Action

In Zapier“Re-execute an existing image generation task to create new variations using the same prompt and parameters.”

Runs an earlier generation again with the very same prompt and settings, so you get a fresh set of images without retyping anything. It only needs the Job ID.

When to use it
the first grid missed and you would rather roll the dice again than rewrite the prompt.
6

Create Shorten

Action

In Zapier“Analyze and simplify prompts to their most essential elements”

Reads a prompt and trims it to its essential elements. It accepts text from 1 up to 8192 characters.

When to use it
prompts come from people who write long paragraphs, and you want a tighter version to look at before generating.
Watch out
it analyses text only, it does not produce any image itself.
7

Create Variation

Action

In Zapier“Generates four new images from a previous task.”

Takes one image of a previous grid and spins four new images from it, either subtle (close to the original) or strong (clearly different).

When to use it
one picture is almost right and you want close alternatives around it.
Watch out
the image index runs from 0 to 3, matching the four grid positions.
8

Describe Image

Action

In Zapier“Generate creative prompts by analyzing an image you upload and then offering words and phrases that describe the image”

Works backwards: you hand it an image URL, and it suggests words and phrases describing that image, ready to reuse as prompts.

When to use it
you have a reference picture and no idea how to phrase a prompt that gets close to it.
Watch out
the image must be reachable with no login.
9

Upscale Image

Action

In Zapier“Upscale one of the 4 images from the Image Grid using index.”

Enlarges one of the four grid images, picked by its index, in Subtle mode that keeps details or Creative mode that interprets more freely.

When to use it
the grid is a draft and you need the chosen image at a usable size.
Watch out
the 2x and 4x types are deprecated and only work on older models.
Searches

The Legnext search

1 search step looks for data that already exists in Legnext, so a later step can use it.

A search step sits at the bottom of the action-event list, under the SEARCH heading. Looking costs no task, but adding one makes the Zap multi-step. Three settings decide what happens when the answer is not the one you expected.

1

Find Image Grid

Search

In Zapier“Find an image grid in your account using Job Id.”

Retrieves a past generation from your Legnext account using its Job ID, which any earlier Legnext action such as Create Image Grid or Create Variation gives you.

When to use it
a Job ID is stored in a spreadsheet and a later Zap needs that grid back before upscaling one image.
Watch out
without a valid Job ID, the search has nothing to look for.

The three settings every search exposes

  1. Successful if no search results are found?
Left on its default, a search that finds nothing stops the Zap there and the steps that depend on it are skipped. Switched on, the Zap carries on with nothing.
  2. Create X if it doesn't exist yet?
This box turns a search into a find-or-create. Legnext offers no such variant, so you will not see it on Find Image Grid.
  3. If multiple search results are found?
Three ways out when several items match: keep the first one (the default), stop the Zap, or pass all of them on at once.
When it breaks

When the Legnext Zap breaks

Zapier attaches no help article to Legnext, and no rate limit specific to the app is documented. The usual failures come from how Zapier itself works.

These four cases cover the problems that come up most with a Zap that starts elsewhere and writes back. When a Zap stops and you cannot see why, open our Zapier troubleshooting guide.

  • The Zap keeps restarting itself

If the Zap writes its results into the same sheet its trigger watches, every new row sets it off again, and it burns through tasks fast.
  • Old prompts never get generated

A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. Rows already in the sheet stay untouched; processing them is a separate job.
  • A bulk paste gets held back

When the trigger suddenly returns a huge batch, after an import for example, Zapier's flood protection can hold the run back rather than fire on everything.
  • Find Image Grid stops the Zap

Left on its default setting, a search that finds no grid for the Job ID stops the Zap there, and every step after it is skipped.

FAQ

Legnext Zapier integration: frequent questions

01Is the Legnext Zapier integration free?
Yes, as long as your Zap stays at two steps. Legnext is not a premium app, so the free plan accepts it, with 100 tasks a month. A spreadsheet row that triggers Create Image Grid is two steps and runs for free. The moment you chain a second Legnext action, like Upscale Image after the grid, or add a filter or the Find Image Grid search, the Zap becomes multi-step and needs a paid plan.
02How many tasks does a Legnext Zap use?
One task per Legnext action that succeeds, and nothing for the trigger. A Zap that generates a grid and then upscales one image spends two tasks per prompt. One that only asks Describe Image for prompt ideas spends one. An action that fails is not counted. Keep an eye on loops: a Zap that writes its results into the sheet it watches can trigger itself again and again, and empty your monthly allowance.
03Can Legnext start a Zap in real time?
No, because Legnext has no trigger at all, neither instant nor polling. It cannot tell Zapier that a new image is ready. The way around it is to start the Zap from another app, such as a new spreadsheet row or a form answer, and call Legnext as an action. How fast that Zap starts then depends on the trigger app: if it is a polling trigger, the interval of your plan applies, 15 minutes on the free plan.
04What does it take to connect Legnext to Zapier?
A Legnext account, nothing more on the Zapier side. Open the Apps page of your Zapier account, click + Add connection, search for Legnext, click Add connection, then sign in to Legnext in the tab that opens and grant access. The connection is saved once, and every Legnext step in every Zap reuses it. Before building, check that the images you plan to send sit at public URLs, since private links make some steps fail.
05Why does Upscale Image ask for a Job ID?
Because it works on a grid that already exists, not on a fresh prompt. Create Image Grid returns a Job ID when it starts a generation, and Upscale Image, Create Variation, Create Reroll, Create Pan and Create Outpaint all need that ID to know which grid to work on. Inside one Zap, you simply map it from the earlier step. Across Zaps, store it somewhere and fetch the grid back with Find Image Grid.
06What if the Legnext operation you need is not listed?
Then Zapier cannot do it for Legnext today, and no setting will unlock it. The nine actions and the single search on this page are the full list the editor shows. A common workaround is to let Legnext handle the generation and pass the result to another app that covers the missing part. If the gap blocks your project, it is worth checking what other automation platforms offer for Legnext.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for Legnext?
It depends on your criteria, not on a ranking. Zapier is quick to connect and its free plan covers a one-action Zap, such as a prompt that turns into a grid. Chaining a grid, an upscale and a variation means several tasks per prompt and a paid plan. Make and n8n are built differently, and their Legnext coverage has to be checked app by app. Weigh setup speed, cost per run and how much each Zap needs to do.
