What the Life Mib Zapier integration does for an agent
The Life Mib Zapier integration links your Life Mib account to the other apps you use, through a Zap (an automation you build on Zapier). Life Mib can start the Zap when a lead or an appointment appears, and it can receive new leads, new appointments and lead updates sent by other apps.
Three concrete outcomes come out of it, each tied to a real operation. A running log of prospects: New Lead starts a Zap each time a lead lands in Life Mib, and the next step writes it wherever your team keeps track. A calendar that stays in step: New Appointment hands every booked appointment to another app. And an inbox for outside leads: Create Lead and Create Appointment drop records into Life Mib from forms or other tools, while Lead Update edits a lead that already exists.
Now the limits. Both triggers are polling ones, so nothing here is instant, and a new lead waits for the next check of your plan. There is no search, which means a Zap cannot look up an existing lead before writing. There is no delete step either. And any Zap with a filter or a second action needs a paid plan. If you would rather plan around those gaps with people who build Zaps for clients, talk to our Zapier agency before you start.
The Zapier words you will meet
Seven terms come up on every screen of the editor. Here they are, each in one plain sentence.
- Zap
- The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time that event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it. Life Mib has two: New Appointment and New Lead.
- Action
- What the Zap does once it has started: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you, such as Create Lead.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. The allowance on your plan is a count of those.
- Polling vs instant trigger
- Polling: Zapier asks the app for new items on a timer. Instant: the app calls Zapier itself. Both Life Mib triggers are polling.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap go on only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
- Connection
- Your Life Mib account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every step of every Zap that touches Life Mib.
What Life Mib Zaps cost in tasks
Zapier counts tasks, and only a completed action is billed. The trigger never costs a task, and neither do the checks Zapier runs on Life Mib, however often they happen.
- Free plan100 tasks per month
- Zaps on the free planUnlimited, two steps each
- Premium appNo
- Instant triggersNone, both triggers poll
A Zap that turns each new lead into a spreadsheet row costs one task per lead. Add a second action and it costs two per lead, since each successful action counts on its own. A failed action is not billed. Life Mib is not a premium app, so the free plan covers it, but that plan stops at one trigger and one action: a filter or a second action makes a multi-step Zap, which needs a paid plan. Because both triggers poll, your plan also sets how long a new lead waits before the Zap sees it.
Connect Life Mib to Zapier
- 01
Go to your Apps page
In Zapier, open the Apps page of your account, where every connection is stored. Click + Add connection. The connection you create here is reused by any Zap that uses Life Mib later.
- 02
Find Life Mib
Search for Life Mib in the dialog and pick it, then click Add connection. A new tab opens on the Life Mib sign-in page; leave the Zapier tab open in the background.
- 03
Sign in and allow access
Log in with your Life Mib account and grant Zapier access. You need your own Life Mib account, plus access to any lead or appointment you do not own but want the Zap to read or change.
Your first Life Mib Zap: a lead log with a filter
GoalEvery new Life Mib lead that passes your condition gets its own row in a spreadsheet, so the team sees fresh prospects in one place.
- 01
Build: start on New Lead
Create a Zap, pick Life Mib as the trigger app and New Lead as the event. Choose your Life Mib connection, or add it now if this is your first Zap with it.
- 02
Test the trigger
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent leads in your account, so pick a real one: the fields it shows are the ones you will map later.
- 03
Add the filter
Click the plus icon and add Filter. Set the three boxes: the lead field to look at, the rule, and the value to compare with. Pick a text rule for text and a number rule for numbers.
- 04
Add the spreadsheet row
Add your spreadsheet app as the action, on the event that creates a row. Map each lead field from the trigger into its column, then test this step and read what came back.
- 05
Publish
Publish the Zap to switch it on. Only leads created from now on go through; the ones already in Life Mib stay where they are. The filter makes this Zap multi-step, so it runs on a paid plan.
Life Mib triggers
2 events start a Zap when something happens in Life Mib. Zapier checks for them at the interval your plan allows.
New Appointment
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when new appointment is created.”
Starts your Zap whenever an appointment is created in Life Mib. Whatever the appointment carries becomes available to the next steps, so you can push it to a calendar, a reminder tool or a shared sheet without retyping it.
New Lead
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when new lead is created.”
Fires each time a fresh lead appears in your Life Mib account and passes that lead's details down the Zap. It is the natural starting point for logging prospects, alerting a colleague or copying the contact somewhere else.
Life Mib actions
Life Mib gives you 3 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.
Operations index
Create Appointment
ActionIn Zapier“Create an appointment”
Books an appointment in Life Mib. It asks for a lot up front: name, address, email, phone number, coverage, source and status are all required.
Create Lead
ActionIn Zapier“Create new Lead”
Adds a new lead to Life Mib from data another app sent. First name, last name and email are required; the Bot field is optional.
Lead Update
ActionIn Zapier“Easily update a specific lead on your Life Mib account”
Changes an existing lead in your Life Mib account rather than creating a new one. The only notable field Zapier lists for it is Bot.
When a Life Mib Zap breaks
Zapier links no help article to Life Mib and lists no limit of its own. The failures you will meet are the ones every Zap shares, and two of them bite harder on a CRM.
Read the four cases below before you publish. If a Zap still misbehaves, our Zapier troubleshooting page is the place to start.
Existing leads are ignored
A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. Leads and appointments already in Life Mib are never picked up; moving them is a separate job.The lead loop
A Zap that starts on New Lead and ends with Create Lead writes into the very place its trigger watches. It sets itself off again and again and eats your tasks.Bulk imports held back
Import a big batch of leads at once and the trigger suddenly returns a huge pile. Zapier's flood protection can hold it back.No double runs
On a polling trigger, Zapier keeps track of what it has already seen, so the same lead or appointment does not start the Zap twice.
