Overview

What the Lucep Zapier integration does for your leads

Lucep helps a sales team capture leads and follow up on them while they are still warm. On Zapier, Lucep is a destination only: it has two actions and no trigger. Something else has to start the Zap, and Lucep is where the lead ends up, ready for a call or for qualification.

Three outcomes are worth building. A lead your callers can claim: a new form entry starts the Zap and Creates a New Lead. puts the prospect in the Lucep mobile and web app, where one of your callers picks it up. A lead that gets qualified first: Submit Your Lead for ALQ sends the same prospect into Automated Lead Qualification instead, for the leads you want screened before anyone dials. One entry point for scattered sources: one Zap per source, each ending on the same Lucep action, so every lead lands in the same queue whatever form or tool it came from.

Now what Zapier cannot do with Lucep. There is no trigger, so nothing that happens in Lucep (a lead claimed, a call made, a qualification result) can start a Zap. There are no searches either, so a Zap cannot check whether a prospect already exists in Lucep before creating it. And both actions need a name and a phone number with its country code; a source that does not carry those cannot feed Lucep as is.

Vocabulary

Zapier words in one minute

Seven terms come back on every Zapier page. Here they are in plain words, once.

Zap
The automation you build: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time the trigger event happens.
Trigger
The event in an app that starts the Zap. Lucep has none, so the trigger always comes from another app, like a form.
Action
What the Zap does after it starts: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you. Both Lucep operations are actions.
Task
The unit Zapier bills. One action that completes successfully is one task; your plan counts those, nothing else.
Polling vs instant
A polling trigger is checked on a timer by Zapier. An instant trigger is reported by the app itself the moment the event happens.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap continue only when the incoming data meets your condition, and stops it quietly otherwise.
Multi-step Zap
Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action or a filter makes one, and it then needs a paid plan.
Cost

What a Lucep lead costs you in tasks

The trigger from your other app never costs a task. Each Lucep action that goes through costs one; a failed one costs nothing. Lucep is not a premium app, so it runs on the free plan.

  • Premium appNo, works on the free plan
  • Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps
  • Lucep triggersNone, start from another app
  • Each Lucep action1 task when it succeeds

The free plan gives you 100 tasks a month and Zaps of two steps: one trigger from another app plus one Lucep action. Add a filter, or a second action, and the Zap turns multi-step, which needs a paid plan. Lucep has no trigger of its own, so the interval grid below applies only to the trigger you pick in the other app, and only if that trigger is a polling one. An instant trigger there skips the grid.

Connect

Connect Lucep to Zapier in three steps

  1. 01

    Open your connections

In Zapier, go to the Apps page of your account and click + Add connection. A connection is your Lucep account linked once, then reused by every Zap that sends leads to it.

  2. 02

    Pick Lucep

Type Lucep in the search box of the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. The same connection serves both actions, Creates a New Lead. and Submit Your Lead for ALQ.

  3. 03

    Sign in and allow access

A tab opens on Lucep. Sign in and grant Zapier access to the account. If the Zap writes into anything you do not own yourself, you need write access on it.

First Zap

Your first Zap: form leads go straight to your callers

GoalEach form entry that passes your condition becomes a Lucep lead that one of your callers can claim.

  1. 01

    Create the Zap

Start a new Zap in the Zapier editor. Pick your form tool as the app that starts it and its event for a new entry, then connect your form account.

  2. 02

    Test the trigger

Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent entries; pick one with a name and a full phone number so the mapping uses real values.

  3. 03

    Add the filter

Click the plus icon and add Filter. Set the field to look at, the rule and the value. Use a text rule on text fields and a number rule on numbers.

  4. 04

    Add Creates a New Lead.

Add Lucep as the action app, choose Creates a New Lead., select your connection, then map the prospect's name and phone number from the form.

  5. 05

    Test and publish

Test the action and check the lead in Lucep. If it looks right, click Publish. With the filter, this is a multi-step Zap, so it needs a paid plan.

Actions

The Lucep actions

Lucep gives you 2 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Creates a New Lead.

Action

In Zapier“Creates a new lead which will appear in our mobile / web app for your tellers to claim it.”

Drops a new prospect into Lucep, where it shows up in the mobile and web app for one of your callers to claim and phone.

When to use it
a lead should reach a human caller as soon as it is captured, with no screening first.
Watch out
the name and the phone number are required, and the number must start with its country code.
2

Submit Your Lead for ALQ

Action

In Zapier“Submit your lead for Automated Lead Qualification (ALQ)”

Hands a prospect to Lucep's Automated Lead Qualification, so the lead goes through that automatic screening rather than straight to a caller.

When to use it
you get more leads than your team can call, and you want them qualified before anyone spends time on them.
Watch out
it asks for the same name and country-coded phone number as lead creation.
When it breaks

When a Lucep Zap breaks

Zapier attaches no help article to Lucep and lists no limit of its own for it. Apart from the phone format, what breaks here is what breaks on any Zap.

  • The phone number is refused

Both Lucep actions require the number with its country code, like +15551234. A local number without that prefix leaves the required field wrong and the action fails.
  • Old leads never reach Lucep

A Zap reacts only to what happens after it is switched on. Entries collected before that stay in the source; moving that backlog is a separate job.
  • A big batch gets held back

If a bulk import suddenly fills the source with a large pile of entries, Zapier's flood protection can hold the batch back instead of sending every lead.
  • The filter never passes

Filter rules are typed: a text rule only works on text, a number rule only on numbers. The wrong type is the usual reason no lead gets through.

FAQ

Lucep Zapier integration: common questions

01Is the Lucep Zapier integration free?
Yes, for two-step Zaps. Lucep is not a premium app, so the free plan covers it: 100 tasks a month and Zaps made of one trigger and one action. A new form entry followed by Creates a New Lead. fits that. Add a filter, or send the lead both to a caller and to qualification, and the Zap becomes multi-step, which needs a paid plan. Zapier lists no separate price for Lucep; what you pay is your plan, and the trigger app must also be one your plan allows.
02How many tasks does a Lucep lead use?
One per Lucep action that succeeds. The trigger in your other app costs nothing, and Zapier watching for new entries costs nothing either. A Zap that only creates the lead uses one task per lead. A Zap that also logs the lead in a spreadsheet uses two. If Lucep rejects the lead, for instance because the phone number lacks its country code, that failed action is not counted. A few apps take more than one task per action, so check the other apps in the Zap.
03Does the Lucep integration work in real time?
It depends on the app that starts the Zap, because Lucep has no trigger. If that app's trigger is instant, it reports the new entry to Zapier as it happens and the lead reaches Lucep right away. If it is a polling trigger, Zapier checks it on your plan's interval: 15 minutes on Free, 2 on Professional, 1 on Team and Enterprise. The Lucep actions themselves run as soon as the Zap reaches them. Look for the lightning bolt on the trigger in the editor.
04What does it take to connect Lucep to Zapier?
A Lucep account, a Zapier account, and an account on the app that will start the Zap. From the Apps page in Zapier, click + Add connection, search for Lucep, click Add connection, then sign in to Lucep in the tab that opens and grant access. If the Zap writes into anything you do not own, you need write access on it. Both Lucep actions reuse that one connection, so you set it up once and every Lucep step can use it.
05Why does Lucep reject the phone number?
Usually because the country code is missing. Both Lucep actions require the prospect's phone number in international form: for the number 555-1234 in the USA, that means adding +1, the country code, in front of it with no spaces. A form that collects local numbers only will pass something Lucep cannot use. Fix it at the source by asking for the full number, then run the test again on an entry that carries it.
06What if the Lucep operation a workflow needs is not there?
Then this integration cannot do it today. Lucep offers two actions on Zapier, no trigger and no search, so reacting to a claimed lead, reading a qualification result or finding an existing prospect is not available. What you can control is the way in: which source sends leads, which ones a filter lets through, and whether each one goes to a caller or to qualification. Anything after that happens inside Lucep.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for Lucep?
Decide by criteria. On Zapier, Lucep is a destination with two actions, which suits a flow where leads come from forms or other tools, and a two-step version runs on the free plan. First check whether Make or n8n offer Lucep at all, since that outweighs any feature list. Then compare how each tool counts usage against your lead volume: on Zapier, each successful action is one task. Last, weigh who on the team will maintain the flow.
