LunaNotes Zapier integrationAutomate LunaNotes with Zapier.
The LunaNotes Zapier integration gives you 3 triggers, 0 actions and 0 searches: three note events that LunaNotes reports to Zapier as they happen. Data only flows out of LunaNotes. Here is what each trigger does, what it costs and where it trips people up.

What the LunaNotes Zapier integration does with your notes
LunaNotes is a note-taking app: you write notes, sort them and share them with others. Connecting it to Zapier means every note you create, edit or remove can set off something in another tool, so the people and systems around you hear about it without anyone copying text across.
Three results come up most. An index of everything you write: New Note adds each fresh note to a spreadsheet, so there is one list to scan, sort and share. A team kept in the loop: Note Updated posts a message when a note changes, which helps when several people rely on the same page of instructions. A trace of what disappeared: Note Removed records each deletion somewhere else, so a missing note can at least be identified later.
Now what Zapier does not do for LunaNotes. There is no action and no search, so a Zap can read what happens in LunaNotes but never write a note, change one or look one up there. Everything starts in LunaNotes and ends in another app. The upside is that all three triggers are instant, which matters a lot on the free plan: a note reaches your other tools without waiting for any scheduled check.

The Zapier words used on this page
Seven words carry everything that follows. Each one is explained here once, then used as is.
- Zap
- The automation you build in Zapier: one trigger first, then one or more actions that run every time the trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap, such as a note created in LunaNotes. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it.
- Action
- What the Zap does once it has started: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you in another app.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. The count on your plan is a count of those, nothing else.
- Polling vs instant
- A polling trigger is checked by Zapier on a timer. An instant trigger is reported by the app itself the moment the event happens.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap go on only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
- Connection
- Your LunaNotes account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every Zap that starts from LunaNotes.
What LunaNotes on Zapier really costs
LunaNotes is not a premium app, so it works from the free plan up. The bill is counted in tasks, and with LunaNotes only the steps after the trigger produce them.
- Premium appNo, works on the free plan
- Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps
- LunaNotes triggersAll 3 instant, no task cost
- Failed actionNot counted
A trigger never costs a task, so a note event reaching Zapier is free. Each action that follows counts once when it succeeds; one that fails is not counted. A Zap that logs a note and then sends a message spends two tasks per note. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, but each Zap stops at two steps: one trigger and one action. A filter or a second action makes it multi-step, which needs a paid plan. The interval grid below is the one Zapier applies to polling triggers; it does not apply to the three LunaNotes triggers, which are all instant.
Connect your LunaNotes account in three steps
- 01
Open the Apps page
In your Zapier account, go to Apps and click + Add connection. You need a LunaNotes account, plus access to any shared notes you do not own but want the Zap to follow.
- 02
Pick LunaNotes
Type LunaNotes in the search box of the dialog, choose it from the results, then click Add connection. A new tab opens on the LunaNotes side so you can sign in.
- 03
Sign in and grant access
Log in to LunaNotes in that tab and allow Zapier to access the account. The connection then appears on your Apps page, and every Zap that starts from LunaNotes reuses it.
Your first Zap: index the LunaNotes notes you care about
GoalEach new LunaNotes note that passes your filter becomes a row in your spreadsheet, so you get one searchable index of what you wrote.
- 01
Create the Zap
From your Zapier dashboard, start a new Zap. The filter in the middle makes it a multi-step Zap, which needs a paid plan; drop the filter and the two other steps fit the free plan.
- 02
Set the trigger
Choose LunaNotes as the app and New Note as the event, then select the LunaNotes connection you added a moment ago from the account list.
- 03
Test the trigger
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent notes of the account, so the next steps are set on a real note rather than a guess.
- 04
Add the filter
Click the plus icon under the trigger and pick Filter. Fill in the three boxes: the field to look at, the rule, and the value to compare with. Only notes that pass go on.
- 05
Add the action
Pick your spreadsheet app and its new-row event, then drag the note details LunaNotes sent into the matching columns of the sheet.
- 06
Test, then publish
Test the action once and check the row it wrote. Then click Publish: from that moment, each new note that passes the filter adds its own row.
LunaNotes triggers in Zapier
3 events start a Zap when something happens in LunaNotes, and 3 of them are instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.
New Note
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new note is created.”
Starts the Zap each time a note is created in LunaNotes. The new note travels to the following steps, so another tool can store it, list it or announce it.
Note Removed
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a note is removed.”
Goes off when a note is removed from LunaNotes. The Zap starts as the note goes away, which is the only chance to record it elsewhere.
Note Updated
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a note is updated.”
Reacts when an existing note is edited in LunaNotes. The updated note reaches the Zap, so the tools that held an older version can catch up with the new one.
When a LunaNotes Zap breaks
Zapier attaches no help article to LunaNotes and records no limit of its own. The problems come from the way Zapier works with every app.
Three cases explain most surprises with a LunaNotes Zap. They rarely show up as an error; they show up as a missing note, a filter that blocks everything, or a task counter climbing faster than planned. If none of them matches, see Zapier troubleshooting.
Past notes never arrive
A Zap only reacts to what happens after you publish it. Notes already in LunaNotes are not picked up; moving that history is a separate job.A big batch gets held back
When a trigger suddenly sends a huge batch, after an import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold those items back instead of running them all.A filter that never passes
Filter rules are typed: a text rule only works on text, a number rule only on numbers. Picking the wrong one is why a filter stops every note.
