mails.so Zapier integrationAutomate mails.so with Zapier.
mails.so Zapier integration: 0 triggers, 1 action and 0 searches. One step, Validate Email Address, checks whether an address is real and can receive mail before another tool stores it, so bad addresses stop at the door instead of piling up in your lists.

What the mails.so Zapier integration is for
mails.so is an email validation service: give it an address and it tells you whether the address is valid, whether it exists, and whether it can receive mail. Through Zapier, that check runs on its own each time another app hands over a new address, so your contact lists stay clean without a manual review.
Sign-ups checked on arrival. A form response comes in, Validate Email Address checks the address, and only the ones that pass move on to the next tool. Nobody has to scan the list for typos afterwards.
A verdict written next to each address. In a spreadsheet of contacts, every new row can get the mails.so answer in its own column, so whoever works the list sees which addresses to trust.
Fewer bounces at the next send. Run the check before an address reaches your email tool, and a mailing goes only to people who can actually receive it.
What it will not do: mails.so has no trigger on Zapier, so it can never start a Zap; another app always opens it. There is no search step and only this one action. It also does not go back over the addresses you already store; a Zap only handles what arrives after it is switched on. If you are still weighing tools, read n8n vs Zapier or Make vs Zapier first.
Zapier vocabulary, in plain English
Seven terms carry the rest of this page. Here they are once.
- Zap
- The automation you build on Zapier: one starting event, then one or more steps that run each time it happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. mails.so has none, so the trigger always comes from another app.
- Action
- What the Zap does once started: the step that checks, writes or sends something for you. Validate Email Address is one.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. Each validation that goes through counts as one.
- Polling or instant
- A polling trigger is checked by Zapier on a timer; an instant one is reported by its app straight away. It depends on the starting app.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap continue only when what arrived meets your condition, such as the mails.so answer, and stops it otherwise.
- Connection
- Your mails.so account linked to Zapier once, then offered again in every mails.so step you add.
What a mails.so Zap really costs
The trigger of the starting app never costs a task. Each address mails.so checks successfully costs one.
- Starting triggerFree, never a task
- Each successful validation1 task
- Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps
- Premium appNo, available on the free plan
A Zap that takes a form response and validates its address uses one task per run; a validation that fails is not counted. mails.so is not a premium app, so the free plan works for that two-step Zap. Add a filter on the answer, or a second action that stores the address, and the Zap becomes multi-step, which needs a paid plan. mails.so has no trigger of its own: the interval grid below applies only to the starting app, and only if its trigger is a polling one.
Connect mails.so to Zapier in three steps
- 01
Open Apps and add a connection
In your Zapier account, open the Apps page and click + Add connection. In the dialog that appears, type mails.so in the search box and pick it from the results.
- 02
Sign in to mails.so
Click Add connection. mails.so opens in a new tab: sign in with the account your validations should run on. You need that mails.so account before you get to this step.
- 03
Grant access
Allow Zapier into the account. From then on the connection appears in every mails.so step. If the Zap touches lists or sheets you do not own, make sure you have read or write rights on them.
Your first Zap: let only valid sign-ups through
GoalEach new form response gets its email address checked by mails.so, and only the addresses that pass your condition become a row in your spreadsheet.
- 01
Create the Zap on your form
In the editor, pick your form app and its new-response event as the trigger. mails.so cannot start a Zap, so it comes second, as an action.
- 02
Test the trigger
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent responses of the connected form; pick one that contains an email address, so the next steps work on a real case.
- 03
Add Validate Email Address
Add mails.so, choose Validate Email Address, select your connection and map the address from the sample response. Test the step and read the answer it returns.
- 04
Filter on the answer
Click the plus icon, add Filter, then set the field to look at (the mails.so answer), the rule and the value. Match the rule to the kind of field the test returned: a text rule only works on text.
- 05
Store, test, publish
Add your spreadsheet and its add-a-row action, map the columns, test each step, then click Publish. With a filter and two actions, this Zap needs a paid plan.
The mails.so action
mails.so gives you 1 action. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.
Operations index
Validate Email Address
ActionIn Zapier“Checks if a given email address is valid and if it can receive email.”
Takes one email address from an earlier step and returns the mails.so verdict: whether it is valid, whether it exists, and whether it can receive mail. The steps after it can then use that answer.
When a mails.so Zap breaks
Zapier ties no help article to mails.so, so the cases below are the limits shared by every Zap, seen from a validation step.
Since mails.so always sits after another app's trigger, most of these traps come from that starting app. When a run fails for reasons not listed here, Zapier troubleshooting is the next stop.
Addresses already stored are not checked
A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. The addresses already sitting in your list are never sent to mails.so; checking them is a separate job.Writing back where the trigger looks
If the Zap writes the verdict as a new row in the very sheet that starts it, each row starts another run, and the task count drains quickly.A big import held back
When the starting app suddenly returns a huge batch, after a bulk import for instance, Zapier's flood protection can hold those runs back. The same item never runs twice
On a polling trigger, Zapier remembers what it has already seen, so an address already sent through the Zap is not validated a second time.
