Manifestly Checklists Zapier integrationAutomate Manifestly Checklists with Zapier.
The Manifestly Checklists Zapier integration gives you 3 triggers, 1 action and 0 searches. Your checklists can start work elsewhere when a run begins, a step is ticked or a run ends, and another app can launch a new run. Here is what that buys you, and where it stops.

What the Manifestly Checklists Zapier integration is for
The Manifestly Checklists Zapier integration connects your Manifestly account to Zapier, so the life of a checklist run can drive other apps, and other apps can start a run. Three events go out: a run starts, a step is completed, a run is completed. One thing comes in: starting a run of a workflow. All three events are instant.
Three results people build with it. A relay between processes: when a run of one workflow ends, Complete Run fires and Run Workflow starts the next workflow, so the handover between the two processes is never forgotten, even when the person who closed the first run is busy elsewhere. A checkpoint alert: Complete Step watches one step of one workflow and posts a message in your team chat when it is ticked, which suits a checkpoint that others wait on. A start log: New Run drops a line into a spreadsheet each time a run begins, so you can count runs outside Manifestly.
What Zapier does not do here. There is no search, so a Zap cannot look up an existing run or workflow. The only action starts a run: nothing ticks a step, assigns a person or closes a run from Zapier. And every trigger is tied to the workflow you pick when you set it up, so one Zap does not watch your whole account.
Before you build, see our Zapier review first.
Zapier vocabulary in one minute
The same handful of words comes back on every Zapier page. Here they are once, in plain English.
- Zap
- The automation you build in Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time the trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event that starts the Zap, such as a run completed in Manifestly. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it.
- Action
- What the Zap does after it starts: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you, like starting a run.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. Your plan's allowance counts those.
- Instant trigger
- A trigger the app reports itself: it calls Zapier when the event happens. All three Manifestly triggers work this way.
- Polling trigger
- A trigger Zapier checks on a timer, asking the app for new items at a fixed interval. Manifestly has none on Zapier.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap carry on only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
- Multi-step Zap
- Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action or a filter makes one, and that needs a paid plan.
What it really costs
Manifestly Checklists is not a premium app on Zapier, so it runs on the free plan. Triggers never cost a task: a run that starts, a step ticked or a run that ends costs nothing by itself.
- Premium appNo, works on the free plan
- Free plan100 tasks a month, unlimited two-step Zaps
- What costs a taskEach successful action; triggers are free
- TriggersAll 3 instant, no waiting for a check
Tasks are counted only for actions that succeed. A Zap where a completed run launches the next workflow costs one task per completed run. Add a chat message after it and the same run costs two. A failed action is not counted. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and Zaps of two steps, one trigger and one action. A filter or a second action makes the Zap multi-step and calls for a paid plan. The interval grid below is Zapier's general rule for polling triggers; it does not apply to the three Manifestly triggers, which are all instant.
Connect your Manifestly Checklists account
- 01
Go to Apps
In Zapier, open Apps and click + Add connection. A connection is your Manifestly account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every Zap that touches it.
- 02
Find Manifestly Checklists
Search for Manifestly Checklists in the dialog, select it and click Add connection. You need an existing Manifestly account to go further. You only do this once per account.
- 03
Sign in and allow access
Sign in to Manifestly in the tab that opens, then grant Zapier access. If the workflows you want to use belong to someone else, make sure your login can read or run them.
Your first Zap: chain two workflows
GoalWhen a run of one workflow is completed and passes your condition, Zapier starts a run of the next workflow.
- 01
Create the Zap and set the trigger
Start a new Zap, pick Manifestly Checklists and Complete Run, choose your connection, then pick the workflow whose finished runs should start things.
- 02
Test the trigger
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent items of the account, so you build on a real completed run. Note the fields it shows.
- 03
Add a filter
Click the plus icon, add Filter, then set the field, the rule and the value. A text rule only works on text. With a filter, the Zap is multi-step and needs a paid plan.
- 04
Add Run Workflow
Add Manifestly Checklists again as the action, pick Run Workflow and choose the next workflow. Map what you need from the finished run.
- 05
Test and publish
Test each step once and check that a new run of the next workflow appears in Manifestly. Then click Publish to switch the Zap on.
Manifestly Checklists triggers
3 events start a Zap when something happens in Manifestly Checklists, and 3 of them are instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.
Complete Run
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a run is completed.”
When someone finishes a checklist run of the workflow you picked, this trigger hands the finished run to your Zap. It is the natural end-of-process signal: what follows can start a new workflow, warn a team or record the result.
Complete Step
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a workflow step is completed.”
This one goes finer than the run: it reacts when one chosen step inside a workflow is ticked. You get a signal in the middle of a process, not only at its start or end.
New Run
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a run is started.”
As soon as a run is started in Manifestly, your Zap receives it. Use it to announce that a process is under way, or to keep a running count of launches outside the app.
Manifestly Checklists action
Manifestly Checklists gives you 1 action. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.
Operations index
Run Workflow
ActionIn Zapier“Creates a run of a workflow.”
Starts a new run of a workflow you choose, so a checklist opens in Manifestly because something happened in another app or in another workflow.
When it breaks
Zapier attaches no help article to Manifestly Checklists, and no limit specific to the app is on record.
The cases below are the general Zapier limits that matter for these triggers and this action. When a Zap misbehaves, see our Zapier troubleshooting guide.
Runs from before the Zap are ignored
A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. Runs started or completed earlier never reach it, and moving that history is a separate job.A Zap that keeps restarting itself
A Zap that writes where its own trigger watches can set itself off again and burn tasks. Run Workflow next to New Run deserves a check at test.A bulk launch held back
If a trigger suddenly sends a huge batch, after a bulk import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold those items back.Nothing fires for other workflows
Each trigger is set on one workflow, and Complete Step on one step. Events from any other workflow do not reach that Zap.
