What the Masteriyo Zapier integration actually does
Masteriyo is a learning platform that runs as a WordPress plugin. Connected to Zapier, it becomes a starting point: every time a student enrolls, finishes a lesson or completes a quiz, Masteriyo tells Zapier, and Zapier carries that event into another app of your choice. The traffic goes one way, out of Masteriyo.
Three things you can build with it. A live enrollment log: Student Enrolled sends each new sign-up to a spreadsheet, so the list grows where your team already looks, without opening WordPress. A completion trail: Course Completed and Quiz Completed pass the finished work to the tool where you follow up, whether that is a mailing list or a team chat. A support inbox for learners: Course Question Created pushes each new question to the person who answers, instead of waiting for someone to check the course page.
What Zapier does not do here matters just as much. Masteriyo has no action and no search on Zapier. A Zap cannot enroll a student, publish a lesson or look up a learner inside Masteriyo. If you need data to flow into the platform, Zapier is the wrong door for this app, and that is worth knowing before you sketch anything.
The upside of a trigger-only app: every one of the twelve is instant, so even the free plan reacts without waiting for a check. If you are still weighing the tool itself, see our Zapier review.
Zapier vocabulary in one minute
Eight words come back on every line of this page. Here they are in plain terms.
- Zap
- The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time the trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it. Masteriyo offers twelve.
- Action
- What the Zap does after it starts: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you, in another app here.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills: one action the Zap completes successfully. The number on your plan counts those, nothing else.
- Polling vs instant trigger
- Polling: Zapier asks the app for new items at a fixed interval. Instant: the app calls Zapier the moment the event happens.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap carry on only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
- Multi-step Zap
- Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action or a filter makes it one, and it then needs a paid plan.
- Connection
- Your Masteriyo account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every Zap step that talks to Masteriyo.
What it really costs
Masteriyo is not a premium app, so it works on the free plan. The trigger never costs a task: only an action that succeeds in the other app is billed.
- Free plan100 tasks a month, unlimited Zaps, two steps each
- Premium appNo, Masteriyo runs on every plan
- Trigger costZero, only successful actions count
- Masteriyo triggers12, all instant
A one-action Zap fed by Masteriyo uses one task per event, and a failed action is not counted. The catch is the free plan's two-step ceiling: add a filter or a second action and the Zap becomes multi-step, which needs a paid plan, even for a simple Zap. The interval grid below shows how often Zapier checks a polling trigger on each plan; it does not apply to Masteriyo, whose twelve triggers are all instant.
Connect Masteriyo to Zapier in three steps
- 01
Open your connections
In Zapier, go to the Apps page of your account and click + Add connection. You need a Masteriyo account first, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch.
- 02
Pick Masteriyo
Type Masteriyo in the search box of the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. A new browser tab opens on the Masteriyo side to finish the link.
- 03
Sign in and grant access
Log in to Masteriyo in that tab and allow Zapier to reach the account. The connection is then saved once and offered again in every Zap that starts from a Masteriyo trigger.
Your first Zap: log every new enrollment
GoalEach time a student enrolls in a Masteriyo course, check the event against one condition, then add a row to your spreadsheet.
- 01
Create the Zap
Start a new Zap, pick Masteriyo as the app that starts it, and choose Student Enrolled as the event. Select the connection you added earlier.
- 02
Test the trigger
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent items from the connected account, so you map the next steps on a real enrollment. Check at the test which details actually come through.
- 03
Add a filter if you need one
From the plus icon, add a Filter and set the field to look at, the rule and the value. A filter makes this a multi-step Zap, so it needs a paid plan.
- 04
Add the spreadsheet action
Pick your spreadsheet app and its add-a-row action, then map the enrollment details from the trigger into the columns you want filled.
- 05
Test, then publish
Run each step once and read what came back. When the row looks right, click Publish to switch the Zap on. From then on, each new enrollment counts one task.
The 12 Masteriyo triggers
12 events start a Zap when something happens in Masteriyo, and 12 of them are instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.

Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a student enrolls in course.”
Runs each time a student enrolls in a specific course, the trigger to pick when the course itself matters.
When it breaks
Masteriyo has no app-specific error documented on Zapier. What trips people up comes from how Zapier itself works.
Four situations to know with a trigger-only app like this one. When a run fails and the cause is not obvious, our Zapier troubleshooting page is the place to start.
Old events never show up
A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. Existing students, past reviews and earlier completions are not picked up; moving them is a separate job.Bulk changes get held back
When a trigger suddenly sends a huge batch, after an import or a migration for instance, Zapier's flood protection can hold those runs back.A Zap that sets itself off
As a general precaution: a Zap that writes into the place its own trigger watches can start itself again and again, and burn tasks fast. The filter will not publish on free
A filter turns the Zap into a multi-step Zap. On the free plan, only one trigger and one action are allowed, so a filtered Zap needs a paid plan.
