Maverick Zapier integrationAutomate Maverick with Zapier.

0 triggers, 0 actions, 1 search. The Maverick Zapier integration does one thing: inside a Zap started by another app, it fetches a personalized video from Maverick for a contact, so the next step can send or store it. Here is what that costs and where it breaks.

Overview

What the Maverick Zapier integration is good for

The Maverick Zapier integration connects Maverick, a tool that produces personalized videos with AI for each of your customers, to Zapier, a service that passes information between apps. On Zapier, Maverick offers a single step, Get Video, which looks up the personalized video for a person by their first name.

A welcome email that carries a video. A new contact appears in your CRM, Get Video fetches their personalized video, and your email tool sends it. Nobody has to look the video up by hand for each contact.

A record that keeps the video next to the contact. Instead of sending, write what Get Video returns into a field of your CRM or a spreadsheet row. Your team then finds the video where it already works.

A check before anything goes out. Post the video in your team chat first, so someone looks at it before it reaches a customer. Which fields Get Video hands back, the link included, is something to check at the test.

Now, what Zapier does not do with Maverick. Nothing in Maverick can start a Zap: there is no trigger, so the Zap always opens on another app. There is no action either, so a Zap cannot create, change or send anything inside Maverick. One search, nothing more. If you are still choosing a tool, see our Make vs Zapier guide.

Vocabulary

Zapier vocabulary in one minute

A handful of words carry this whole page. Here they are once, in plain English.

Zap
The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more steps that run every time that event happens.
Trigger
The event in an app that starts the Zap. Maverick has none, so your Zap starts on another app's event.
Action
What the Zap does once started: the step that writes, sends or creates something for you, in your email tool for instance.
Task
The unit Zapier bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. The count on your plan is a count of those.
Polling vs instant
A polling trigger is checked by Zapier on a timer. An instant trigger is reported by its app the moment the event happens.
Search step
A step that looks up something that already exists in an app and hands it to the next steps. Get Video is one.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap go on only when what arrived meets your condition, and stops it otherwise.
Multi-step Zap
Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A search, a filter or a second action makes one, and it needs a paid plan.
Cost

What a Maverick Zap really costs

Maverick is not reserved for paid plans on Zapier. But its only step is a search, and that changes the bill.

  • Trigger0 tasks
  • Each successful action1 task
  • Zap with Get VideoMulti-step, paid plan
  • Free plan100 tasks a month, two steps per Zap

A Zap with a search is a multi-step Zap, and the free plan builds two-step Zaps only: one trigger, one action. So any Zap that uses Get Video runs on a paid plan. The trigger never costs a task, each action that succeeds counts as one, and an action that fails is not counted. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, but only two-step ones, so none of them can carry Maverick. The interval grid below concerns the trigger of the other app if it is a polling one; Maverick has no trigger of its own.

Connect

Connect your Maverick account to Zapier

  1. 01

    Open the Apps page

In your Zapier account, open Apps and click + Add connection. A connection is your Maverick account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every Zap step that uses Maverick.

  2. 02

    Pick Maverick

Search for Maverick in the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. The Maverick account has to exist already: Zapier links to it, it does not open one.

  3. 03

    Sign in and grant access

Sign in to Maverick in the tab that opens and grant Zapier access to the account. For anything in Maverick you do not own yourself, read or write access must be granted to you first.

First Zap

Your first Zap: send each new CRM contact their video

GoalWhen a contact is added to your CRM, fetch their personalized video from Maverick with Get Video and send it to them by email.

  1. 01

Create the Zap on your CRM

Start a new Zap and pick your CRM as the app that starts it, with its new contact event. Maverick cannot open the Zap: it has no trigger.

  2. 02

    Test the trigger

Run the test and pick a real contact among the recent ones Zapier brings back. Check that a first name comes through, because the next step depends on it.

  3. 03

    Add Get Video

Add Maverick as the next step, choose Get Video under the searches, select your connection, then map the contact's first name into First Name.

  4. 04

    Add the email

Add your email tool as the action, write a short message, and insert what Get Video returned. Test each step once and read what came back before going further.

  5. 05

    Publish

Publish the Zap to switch it on. With a search inside, it is a multi-step Zap and needs a paid plan. For a guided build, our Zapier training covers that kind of Zap.

Searches

The Maverick search on Zapier

1 search step looks for data that already exists in Maverick, so a later step can use it.

Maverick has one search step. Like every search on Zapier, it comes with settings that decide what the Zap does when the lookup goes wrong.

1

Get Video

Search

In Zapier“Gets a personalized video from Maverick”

Looks up the personalized video Maverick holds for a person and passes it to the steps that follow, so an email or a record can carry it.

When to use it
right after a trigger that brings in a new contact, when that contact should receive or keep their own video.
Watch out
First Name is required, and how closely Maverick matches it is decided by Maverick, not Zapier. Check at the test which video comes back.

The three settings every search exposes

  1. Successful if no search results are found?
Left on its default, a search that finds nothing stops the Zap there and the steps that depended on it are skipped. Switched on, the Zap carries on without a video.
  2. Create X if it doesn't exist yet?
On apps that offer it, this box turns a search into a find-or-create. Get Video has no such variant, so a missing video is never created by the Zap.
  3. If multiple search results are found?
Three ways out when several items match: keep the first one, which is the default, stop the Zap, or hand all of them on at once.
When it breaks

When the Maverick Zap breaks

Zapier attaches no help article to Maverick and no Maverick limit is recorded. The breakdowns are the ones every Zap meets, plus the required first name.

These cases cover the general limits worth knowing. Read them before you publish; if a Zap still misbehaves, our Zapier troubleshooting page is the next stop.

  • Old contacts get no video

A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. Contacts that existed before are not picked up; sending them their video is a separate job.
  • No first name, nothing to find

Get Video needs First Name. If the trigger brings a contact without one, the search cannot do its job; check at the test what happens in that case.
  • A Zap that sets itself off

A Zap that writes into the place its own trigger watches can start itself again and again, and burn through your tasks. Keep the final step away from what the trigger watches.
  • An import held back

After a bulk import into the app that starts the Zap, its trigger can return a huge batch at once, and Zapier's flood protection can hold those runs back.

FAQ

Maverick Zapier integration: your questions

01Is the Maverick Zapier integration free?
Maverick itself is not reserved for paid plans, but in practice a Maverick Zap needs one. Its only step is a search, and a Zap with a search is a multi-step Zap. The free plan builds Zaps of two steps only, one trigger and one action, with 100 tasks a month and as many of those Zaps as you like. A Zap that starts on your CRM, runs Get Video and then sends an email has three steps. Count on a paid plan from the start.
02How many tasks does a Maverick Zap use?
The trigger costs nothing and each action that succeeds counts as one task. In a Zap where a new contact leads to Get Video and then an email, the email is the action you can be sure is billed: one task per contact. Whether the search step itself is counted is not something to guess, so read the task count after your first runs. An action that fails is not counted against your plan, and a few apps take more than one task per action.
03Is the Maverick integration real time?
Maverick has no trigger, so the timing comes from the app that starts your Zap. If that app has an instant trigger, it tells Zapier the moment the event happens and the Zap runs right away, whatever your plan; the editor shows a lightning bolt on those Zaps. If it is a polling trigger, Zapier checks it on a timer: 15 minutes on Free, 2 on Professional, 1 on Team and Enterprise.
04What is needed to connect Maverick to Zapier?
An existing Maverick account you can sign in to. On the Apps page of Zapier, click + Add connection, search for Maverick, click Add connection, then sign in in the new tab and grant access. For anything in Maverick you do not own yourself, read or write access must be granted to you first. You also need a second app to start the Zap, since Maverick has no trigger, and that app needs its own connection too.
05Why does Get Video find no video?
Start with First Name, the one required field of the search. If the trigger brings a contact without a first name, or the wrong field is mapped, there is nothing to look up. How close the match has to be is decided by Maverick, not by Zapier. Then check the setting Successful if no search results are found: on its default, a search that finds nothing stops the Zap, and the email after it is skipped.
06What if the Maverick operation you want is not there?
Then Zapier cannot do it with Maverick today. The integration holds one search, Get Video, and nothing else: no trigger to start a Zap from Maverick, no action to create or change anything inside it. What you can do is let another app start the Zap and use Get Video in the middle. Any step that has to change something inside Maverick is out of reach through Zapier, whatever the plan.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for Maverick?
Decide on criteria, not on a winner. On Zapier, Maverick gives you one search that slots between another app's trigger and an email or record step, and the Zap needs a paid plan because of that search. Make and n8n have their own catalogues and pricing logic, and whether they offer Maverick at all is something to check on their side. Compare which steps each tool gives you with Maverick, how each one counts runs, and who maintains the automation.
