MayiStay Zapier integrationAutomate MayiStay with Zapier.
The MayiStay Zapier integration gives you 0 triggers, 2 actions and 3 searches. Every Zap starts in another app, then books, reviews or looks up a renter in MayiStay. The app works on the free plan, but a search makes the Zap a paid one.

What the MayiStay Zapier integration actually does
MayiStay is a rating app for RV park owners: renters get anonymous ratings, kept in a database you can search with your own criteria. On Zapier it has no trigger, so it never starts a Zap. It acts at the end of one, to book, review or look up a renter.
Three outcomes cover most of what you can build. Bookings that log themselves. A booking request arrives in another tool and Create Booking records the stay in MayiStay with its start and end dates. Reviews left without retyping. When a stay is marked as over somewhere else, Leave Review files the review, including the one question it always asks: would you rent to this person again? A check before you say yes. Find Renter looks the person up by name and date of birth, and Find Past Reviews brings back the reviews already on file.
What Zapier does not do here matters as much. No MayiStay event can start a Zap, so a new review or a new booking inside MayiStay stays invisible to Zapier. There is no update or delete action, and no find-or-create shortcut either: a search that finds nothing will not create the renter for you. To weigh Zapier against the other tools first, see our n8n vs Zapier comparison.
Zapier vocabulary in one minute
Eight words you will meet in the editor, each in plain English.
- Zap
- The automation you build: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time the trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. MayiStay has none, so your trigger always comes from another app.
- Action
- What the Zap does once it has started: the step that writes, sends or creates something for you, here a booking or a review.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills. One task is one action your Zap completed successfully, and your plan counts those.
- Polling vs instant
- A polling trigger is checked by Zapier on a timer. An instant trigger is reported by its app the moment the event happens.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap continue only when what arrived meets your condition, and stops it quietly otherwise.
- Search step
- A step that looks up something that already exists in an app, like a renter, so later steps can use what it found.
- Multi-step Zap
- Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A search or a filter makes a Zap multi-step, and that needs a paid plan.
What a MayiStay Zap really costs
The trigger never costs anything. Only an action that completes is counted as a task.
- Trigger (other app)Free, never counted
- Each successful action1 task
- Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps only
- Zap with a MayiStay searchMulti-step, paid plan
MayiStay is not reserved for paid plans, and a two-step Zap that ends on Create Booking or Leave Review runs on the free plan: 100 tasks a month, unlimited Zaps, one trigger and one action each. Add Find Renter or any other search and the Zap becomes multi-step, which needs a paid plan. A failed action is not counted. The grid below is how often Zapier checks a polling trigger; it applies to the trigger of the other app that starts your Zap, never to MayiStay, which has no trigger.
Connect MayiStay to Zapier in three steps
- 01
Open the Apps page
In your Zapier account, go to Apps and click + Add connection. A dialog opens with a search box: type MayiStay and pick it from the list of apps that comes up.
- 02
Sign in to MayiStay
Click Add connection. A new tab opens on MayiStay: sign in with the account the Zap should use. You need an account on the app, plus access to anything you do not own and want the Zap to touch.
- 03
Grant access
Allow Zapier to use the account. The connection then shows up on the Apps page, and every MayiStay step of every Zap can reuse it, so you only do this once per account.
Your first MayiStay Zap: a booking request becomes a stay
GoalEach new answer to your booking form looks the renter up in MayiStay, then records the stay with its dates.
- 01
Create the Zap
From the Zapier dashboard, start a new Zap. Pick your form tool as the first app and its new-answer event as the trigger, then connect the account.
- 02
Test the trigger
Run the trigger test. Zapier brings back the three most recent answers of the connected account, so you map the next steps on a real one.
- 03
Add Find Renter
Add a step, pick MayiStay and
Find Renter. Map the first name, last name and date of birth from the answer. This search makes the Zap a paid-plan Zap. - 04
Add Create Booking
Add the
Create Bookingaction and map the Start Date and End Date from the form. Check at test time which fields tie the booking to the renter found. - 05
Test, then publish
Test each step once and check the booking in MayiStay. Then click Publish: the Zap is on and handles answers that arrive from now on.
The MayiStay actions
MayiStay gives you 2 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.
Operations index
Create Booking
ActionIn Zapier“Creates a booking to Renter in the system”
Records a stay for a renter in MayiStay, with the dates it starts and ends, so the history of who stayed when builds up without manual entry.
Leave Review
ActionIn Zapier“Review a renter in the system”
Files a review of a renter in MayiStay once a stay is behind you, so the rating joins the searchable database the app is built around.
The MayiStay searches
3 search steps look for data that already exists in MayiStay, so a later step can use it.
A search step looks something up so the next steps can use it. In the editor, MayiStay's searches sit at the bottom of the Action event list, under SEARCH. Three settings decide what happens when the result is not a clean single match.
Get Renter Details
SearchIn Zapier“To get complete renter details”
Pulls the full record of one renter when you already hold the ID, so later steps can use everything MayiStay knows about that person.
Find Past Reviews
SearchIn Zapier“Find Past Reviews in the system”
Brings back reviews already left in MayiStay, so a Zap can read the rating history before you confirm anything.
Find Renter
SearchIn Zapier“Find a Renter in the system”
Looks a renter up by identity and hands what it found to the next steps; check at test time which of those values a later step can use.
The three settings every search exposes
- Successful if no search results are found?Left on its default, a search that finds nothing stops the Zap there and the steps that depend on it are skipped. Switched on, the Zap carries on empty-handed.
- Create X if it doesn't exist yet? This box turns a search into find-or-create on apps that offer it. MayiStay exposes no find-or-create variant, so a renter that is not found is not created by the search.
- If multiple search results are found?Three ways out when several items match: keep the first one, which is the default, stop the Zap, or hand all of them on at once.
When a MayiStay Zap breaks
Zapier attaches no help article to MayiStay and lists no rate limit for it, so the traps below are the general ones that apply to any Zap.
Most problems appear in the first runs, when old data, an empty search or a big import meets a freshly published Zap. When a run fails and the cause is not obvious, see our Zapier troubleshooting guide.
Nothing from before the Zap
A Zap reacts only to what happens after you switch it on. Bookings made earlier are not picked up; moving that backlog into MayiStay is a separate job.An empty search stops the Zap
On its default setting, a search that finds no renter stops the Zap at that step, and the steps that depend on it are skipped for that run.A huge batch held back
After a bulk import or a migration, the trigger of the app that starts your Zap can return a large batch. Zapier's flood protection can hold it back.A Zap that restarts itself
A Zap that writes where its own trigger watches can set itself off again and again. Keep that in mind if the starting app also receives MayiStay data.
