Meetaway Zapier integrationAutomate Meetaway with Zapier.
The Meetaway Zapier integration gives you 2 actions, 0 triggers and 0 searches. Meetaway never starts the automation on its own: another app does, and Zapier then registers, updates or cancels an attendee on your Meetaway event.

What the Meetaway Zapier integration actually does
The Meetaway Zapier integration lets another tool feed your Meetaway events with attendees. Meetaway, a virtual networking platform, only receives on Zapier: it has two actions and nothing that starts an automation. So the event always begins elsewhere, and Meetaway is the place where the registration lands, changes or disappears.
A registration that writes itself. Someone ends up in your spreadsheet, and Create or Updates an Attendee's Registration puts that person on the event with a ticket name, an email, a first name and a last name. No more copying rows into Meetaway by hand before each session.
A registration that stays current. Its name says it creates or updates a registration. Which of the two happens for a person already on the list is not documented on Zapier, so send a known attendee through your first test and look at the result in Meetaway before you count on it.
A seat given back. Cancel an Attendee's Registration takes the event ID and the email and removes that registration. Useful when someone drops out somewhere else and you want the attendee list to follow.
What Zapier does not do here matters just as much. Meetaway has no trigger, so a new registration made inside Meetaway never reaches your other tools through Zapier. It has no search either: a Zap cannot look up an event or an attendee in Meetaway before acting. Every value the actions need has to come from the step before. The Zapier words you need, in one minute
Eight terms come back on this page. Here they are once, in plain words.
- Zap
- The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time the trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it. Meetaway offers none, so another app plays this part.
- Action
- What the Zap does once started: the step that writes, sends or changes something for you, like a Meetaway registration.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. The number on your plan counts those, nothing else.
- Polling vs instant trigger
- A polling trigger is checked by Zapier on a timer. An instant trigger is reported by the app itself the moment the event happens.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap go on only when what arrived meets your condition, and stops it otherwise.
- Connection
- Your Meetaway account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every step of every Zap that touches Meetaway.
- Multi-step Zap
- Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action or a filter makes it one, and it then needs a paid plan.
What a Meetaway Zap really costs
Meetaway is not a premium app on Zapier, so it works from the free plan. The bill is counted in tasks, and only on the Meetaway side.
- Premium appNo, available on the free plan
- Tasks on the free plan100 per month
- Steps per Zap on the free plan2 (one trigger, one action)
- Cost of the trigger0 tasks
The trigger in the other app costs nothing, however often Zapier checks it. Each Meetaway registration created, updated or cancelled successfully counts one task; an action that fails is not counted. The free plan stops at two steps, so adding a filter or a second action means a paid plan. The grid below only concerns the trigger of the app that starts your Zap, when that trigger is a polling one; Meetaway has no trigger of its own.
Connect Meetaway to Zapier in three steps
- 01
Open your connections
In your Zapier account, go to the Apps page and click + Add connection. A dialog opens with a search box: type Meetaway and pick it from the list of apps.
- 02
Sign in to Meetaway
Click Add connection. A new tab opens on Meetaway: sign in with the account that manages your events. You need an existing Meetaway account; this step only links it.
- 03
Grant access
Allow Zapier to use the account. If the events you want to fill belong to a colleague, make sure your account has write access to them before you build anything.
Your first Zap: register attendees from a spreadsheet
GoalEach new row in your spreadsheet becomes a registration on your Meetaway event, but only for rows that meet a condition you set.
- 01
Pick the starting event
Create a Zap and choose your spreadsheet app with its new-row trigger. Meetaway cannot start the Zap, so this first card always belongs to another tool.
- 02
Test the trigger
Run the test: Zapier brings back the three most recent rows of the connected sheet. Pick a real one, so the mapping that follows uses real values.
- 03
Add the filter
From the plus icon, add a Filter and fill its three boxes: the field to look at, the rule, the value. This step makes the Zap multi-step, so it needs a paid plan.
- 04
Add the Meetaway action
Pick Meetaway and Create or Updates an Attendee's Registration. Map the event ID, the ticket name, the email, the first name and the last name from the row.
- 05
Test, then publish
Test the action once and check the attendee on the Meetaway side. Then click Publish to switch the Zap on. Rows added before that moment are not picked up.
Meetaway actions on Zapier
Meetaway gives you 2 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.
Operations index
Cancel an Attendee's Registration
ActionIn Zapier“Cancel an Attendee's Registration”
Withdraws someone from an event, identified by two things only: the event ID and the email they registered with.
Create or Updates an Attendee's Registration
ActionIn Zapier“Creates or Updates a Registration”
Writes a registration for a person on one of your Meetaway events. Its name says create or update; which one applies to a given person is not documented. It asks for the event ID, the ticket name, the email, the first name and the last name.
When a Meetaway Zap breaks
Zapier attaches no help article to Meetaway, and no limit specific to the app is documented. What breaks comes from how every Zap behaves.
These four cases are the ones to keep in mind before switching the Zap on. When a run fails anyway, open our Zapier troubleshooting page.
No catch-up on old rows
A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is published. People already in your sheet are not registered; moving that backlog is a separate job.A Zap that sets itself off
As a general precaution: a Zap that writes into the place its own trigger watches can start itself again and burn through tasks.A bulk import held back
When a trigger suddenly returns a huge batch, after an import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold those items back.Duplicates on polling triggers
On a polling trigger, Zapier remembers what it has already seen, so the same row does not start the Zap twice.
