Overview

What the MeetingPulse Zapier integration actually does

The MeetingPulse Zapier integration takes what your audience submits during a meeting and sends it to another app. Two triggers cover it: one for answers to polls, surveys and forms, one for submissions to Q&A, ideas and topics. Each one watches a single meeting and a single survey or topic that you pick when you set it up.

Every survey answer, kept in a spreadsheet. List Poll, Survey or Form Answers followed by a spreadsheet step gives one row per answer, ready to sort and share after the session.

Audience questions, sent to the host's channel. List QnA, Ideas or Topic Answers can post each Q&A submission to a team channel, so the people behind the scenes see what is coming in.

An idea board that outlives the meeting. The same trigger, on an Ideas module, can copy each idea into a task list for follow-up.

What Zapier does not do for MeetingPulse: it cannot create a meeting, a poll or a question, and it cannot push anything back to the audience. There is no action and no search. Both triggers are polling, so nothing arrives the instant it is submitted; Zapier collects new answers at the interval of your plan. And each trigger is tied to the meeting and the survey or topic chosen in its settings.

Vocabulary

Zapier words, in plain English

Seven terms come back on this page. Here is each one in a sentence.

Zap
The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time that trigger event occurs.
Trigger
The event that starts the Zap, here a new answer or submission in MeetingPulse. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it.
Action
What the Zap does after it starts: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you, in another app here.
Task
The unit Zapier bills: one action that completes successfully. Your plan's allowance is counted in those.
Polling vs instant
Polling: Zapier checks the app on a timer. Instant: the app calls Zapier itself. Both MeetingPulse triggers are polling.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap continue only when the incoming data meets a condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
Multi-step Zap
Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action or a filter makes one, and it then needs a paid plan.
Cost

What a MeetingPulse Zap really costs

Checking MeetingPulse for new answers costs nothing, however often Zapier looks. You pay for each action that works: one completed action, one task.

  • Free plan100 tasks a month, unlimited two-step Zaps
  • Premium appNo, MeetingPulse works on the free plan
  • MeetingPulse triggers2, both polling

A failed action is not counted, and a Zap with three actions spends three tasks per run. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, each limited to two steps, and checks polling triggers every 15 minutes. A filter or a second action makes the Zap multi-step, which needs a paid plan. MeetingPulse is not a premium app. The grid below is the interval at which Zapier checks both MeetingPulse triggers, by plan.

Connect

Connect MeetingPulse to Zapier in three steps

  1. 01

Open Apps and add a connection

In your Zapier account, open the Apps page and click + Add connection. You need a MeetingPulse account, plus access to the meetings you do not own yourself but want the Zap to read.

  2. 02

    Pick MeetingPulse

Type MeetingPulse in the search box of the dialog and select it from the results. Then click Add connection: a new browser tab opens on the MeetingPulse sign-in page.

  3. 03

    Sign in and grant access

Sign in to MeetingPulse in that tab, then grant Zapier access to the account. The connection is stored once, and both MeetingPulse triggers reuse it in every Zap.

First Zap

Your first MeetingPulse Zap: survey answers into a spreadsheet

GoalEach new answer to the survey you pick in a MeetingPulse meeting lands as a row in your spreadsheet, if it passes your condition.

  1. 01

Create the Zap and pick the trigger

Create a new Zap, choose MeetingPulse as the app that starts it and List Poll, Survey or Form Answers as the event. Select your MeetingPulse connection.

  2. 02

    Choose the meeting and survey

In the trigger settings, select the meeting, then the survey whose answers you want. Both are required. Then run the test: Zapier brings back the three most recent answers to map on.

  3. 03

    Add the filter

Click the plus icon, add Filter, and fill the three boxes: field, rule, value. A text rule only works on text. The Zap is now multi-step, so it needs a paid plan.

  4. 04

    Add the spreadsheet step

Add your spreadsheet as the action and map the answer details into the columns. Use only the details you saw in the test, not ones you expect.

  5. 05

    Test, then publish

Run each step once and read what came back. When the row looks right, click Publish to switch the Zap on. Answers given before that are not picked up.

Triggers

MeetingPulse triggers on Zapier

2 events start a Zap when something happens in MeetingPulse. Zapier checks for them at the interval your plan allows.

1

List Poll, Survey or Form Answers

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a participant submits a new answer to a question in a Polls or Forms meeting module.”

Starts a Zap when a participant submits a new answer to a question in a Polls or Forms module of a MeetingPulse meeting. You pick the meeting and the survey in the settings.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one
When to use it
the answers of a session have to end up somewhere lasting, a spreadsheet or a report, without exporting them by hand afterwards.
Watch out
the meeting and the survey are both required, so the Zap only collects answers for that pair; another survey means changing the settings.
2

List QnA, Ideas or Topic Answers

Polling trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a participants makes a submission to one of the topics in an Ideas or QnA meeting module.”

This one follows the open side of a session: each submission a participant makes to a topic in an Ideas or Q&A module starts the Zap.

How it fires
Zapier goes and looks at regular intervals, and how often depends on your plan: every 15 minutes on the free one
When to use it
audience questions or ideas need to reach the people who will answer or act on them, in a team channel or a task list.
Watch out
a meeting and a topic are required. Submissions reach the Zap at your plan's interval, every 15 minutes on the free one, not at the moment a participant sends them.
When it breaks

When a MeetingPulse Zap breaks

Zapier attaches no help article to MeetingPulse and the source lists no limit specific to it. What breaks comes from how Zapier works in general, and from the polling nature of both triggers.

  • Earlier answers are not picked up

A Zap only reacts to what happens after you switch it on. Answers submitted before that stay in MeetingPulse, and moving that backlog is a separate job.
  • Answers arrive in batches

Both triggers are polling: Zapier checks at the interval of your plan, every 15 minutes on the free one, and handles what is new since the last check.
  • No duplicate runs

On a polling trigger, Zapier keeps track of what it has already seen, so the same answer does not start the Zap twice.
  • A sudden flood

When a trigger suddenly returns a huge batch, after a bulk import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold that batch back.

FAQ

MeetingPulse and Zapier: common questions

01Is the MeetingPulse Zapier integration free?
Yes. MeetingPulse is not a premium app, so it works on the free plan. That plan gives 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, each limited to two steps: one trigger and one action. A survey answer followed by a spreadsheet row fits that frame. A filter or a second action turns the Zap multi-step, and multi-step Zaps need a paid plan. The free plan also checks polling triggers every 15 minutes only. No prices are printed here, since plan grids change too often.
02How many tasks does a MeetingPulse Zap use?
One per successful action, per answer. Checking MeetingPulse for new answers is free, however often Zapier looks, and the trigger itself never costs a task. So a Zap that copies each survey answer into a spreadsheet spends one task per answer collected. A session with a large audience can therefore use a good share of the 100 monthly tasks of the free plan in one go. An action that fails is not counted. A filter can drop the answers you do not need, on a paid plan.
03Do MeetingPulse triggers fire in real time?
No. Both MeetingPulse triggers are polling triggers: Zapier asks MeetingPulse for new answers at a fixed interval and keeps only what it has not seen before. The interval depends on the plan: 15 minutes on Free, 2 on Professional, 1 on Team and Enterprise. On paid plans the check frequency can be changed, and a check can be run by hand from the editor. The type is set by the app and cannot be switched to instant from the editor.
04What does connecting MeetingPulse to Zapier require?
A MeetingPulse account, plus read or write access to the meetings you do not own yourself and want the Zap to read. On Zapier, open the Apps page, click + Add connection, search for MeetingPulse, click Add connection, sign in on the tab that opens and grant access. Then, inside the trigger, you need an existing meeting and a survey or topic in it, because both fields are required. Set those up in MeetingPulse first.
05Why does the Zap only see one survey?
Because each MeetingPulse trigger is set on one meeting and one survey or topic. Both fields are required in the trigger settings, and the Zap collects answers for that choice only. Answers to another survey in the same meeting, or to a different meeting, do not start it. To follow another survey, change the settings or build a second Zap on the same trigger. The free plan allows unlimited Zaps, so a second one does not cost anything by itself.
06What if the MeetingPulse operation you need is missing?
Then the integration cannot do it. Zapier offers two MeetingPulse operations, both triggers: one for poll, survey and form answers, one for Q&A, ideas and topic submissions. Nothing creates a meeting, a poll or a question, and nothing looks up past results. One route is to let MeetingPulse report and have another app in the Zap do the rest. Another is to check whether a different automation tool lists the operation you are after. Test with a real answer either way.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for MeetingPulse?
Compare on criteria. Coverage: on Zapier, MeetingPulse means two polling triggers and nothing else. Make and n8n publish their own lists, and those lists decide for them. Timing: polling on Zapier means answers arrive at your plan's interval, 15 minutes on Free. Billing: Zapier counts one task per successful action, so audience size drives the cost. Plan limits: the free plan stops at two steps. Weigh those points against how fast and how often the answers need to move.
