Phonely Zapier integrationAutomate Phonely with Zapier.
The Phonely Zapier integration has 1 trigger and 1 action. New Call tells your other tools the moment your Phonely number gets a call, and Outbound Call has your AI agent ring a customer when something happens elsewhere. Cost, setup and pitfalls below.

What the Phonely Zapier integration does for your phone line
Phonely puts an AI agent on your phone line: it picks up incoming calls and can dial customers for you. Connected to Zapier, it works in both directions. Each call to your Phonely number can start work in your other tools, and an event in those tools can make your agent call a customer.
Three results come out of those two operations. A call log that keeps itself: New Call sends every incoming call to a spreadsheet or a CRM, so you can see what the agent handled without opening Phonely. A team that hears about calls: the same trigger can post a note in your team chat, useful when a person should follow up on what the agent started. Customers called back without delay: Outbound Call lets a form submission, a new deal or a booking in another app ask your Phonely agent to dial the customer.
What the integration does not do is just as important. There is no search, so a Zap cannot look up past calls in Phonely. There is no trigger for anything other than a new incoming call, and no action other than placing a call. If you were hoping to change your agent's settings or pull other data from Phonely through Zapier, it is not offered today.
On timing, New Call is an instant trigger, so the plan you pay for does not slow it down. If you are still choosing a platform, read Make vs Zapier or n8n vs Zapier.
Zapier words you need for this page
Seven terms, one line each, reused below without a second explanation.
- Zap
- The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time the starting event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap, such as a new call on your Phonely number. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it.
- Action
- What the Zap does after it starts: the step that writes, sends or, with Phonely, places a call for you.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills. Each action that completes successfully is one task, and your plan's allowance counts those.
- Polling vs instant trigger
- Polling: Zapier checks the app on a timer. Instant: the app tells Zapier itself when the event happens. New Call is instant.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap continue only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
- Connection
- Your Phonely account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every Phonely step in all your Zaps.
What a Phonely Zap really costs
New Call is free: a trigger never costs a task, however many calls your agent takes. Each action that succeeds costs one task, and that includes Outbound Call. An action that fails is not counted against your plan.
- New Call trigger0 tasks
- Outbound Call or any successful action1 task
- Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps
- Filter or second actionMulti-step Zap, paid plan
Phonely is not reserved for paid plans, so it works on the free plan: 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, but each one limited to two steps, a trigger and an action. New Call followed by one action fits; so does another app's trigger followed by Outbound Call. Add a filter or a second action and the Zap becomes multi-step, which needs a paid plan. The polling grid below does not affect New Call, which is instant.
Connect your Phonely account to Zapier
- 01
Start from Apps
In your Zapier account, open Apps and click + Add connection. Type Phonely in the search box of the dialog and select it, making sure you pick Phonely and not a similarly named app.
- 02
Sign in to Phonely
Click Add connection. Phonely opens in a new tab: sign in with the account that owns the Phonely number your agent uses. You need an existing Phonely account for this step.
- 03
Grant access
Allow Zapier into the account. The connection is saved and reused by every Phonely step, whether it is the New Call trigger or the Outbound Call action, so you only do this once.
Your first Zap: log the calls your Phonely agent takes
GoalEvery call your Phonely number receives, if it meets your condition, gets a row in a shared sheet.
- 01
Build: pick New Call
Start a new Zap, choose Phonely as the starting app and New Call as the event, then select your connection. The editor shows a lightning bolt: the Zap is instant.
- 02
Test with real calls
Run the trigger test. Zapier brings back the three most recent calls of the connected account, so you map the next steps on a real call instead of a guess.
- 03
Add a filter
Click the plus icon and choose Filter. In Configure & test, set the field, the rule and the value. Use a text rule on text and a number rule on numbers.
- 04
Add the sheet action
Add the spreadsheet app as the action, pick the sheet, and map the call details from New Call into its columns. Test the step once and check the new row.
- 05
Publish
Click Publish to switch the Zap on. With the filter it has three steps, so it needs a paid plan; drop the filter and the free plan is enough.
The Phonely trigger: New Call
1 event starts a Zap when something happens in Phonely, and one of them is instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.
New Call
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggered every time you receive a new call to your Phonely number”
Starts a Zap each time your Phonely number receives a call, whoever ends up handling it. It is the one Phonely event on Zapier, so every Zap that reacts to your phone line starts here.
The Phonely action: Outbound Call
Phonely gives you 1 action. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.
Operations index
Outbound Call
ActionIn Zapier“Creates a call to your customer.”
Has your Phonely agent place a call to a customer. Two numbers are required: Customer Phone Number, the one to ring, and Phonely Phone Number, the line your agent calls from.
When a Phonely Zap breaks
Zapier attaches no help article to Phonely and documents no Phonely-specific limit. What breaks follows Zapier's general rules.
Three cases to keep in mind before switching a Zap on. For a broader checklist, see Zapier troubleshooting.
No catching up on past calls
A Zap only reacts to calls that arrive after you switch it on. Calls your agent took before stay out of it; moving that history is a separate job.Outbound Call with a missing number
Both Customer Phone Number and Phonely Phone Number are required. If an earlier step leaves one empty, the call cannot be placed. A failed action is not billed.A sudden flood of events
When a trigger suddenly sends a huge batch, after an import or a migration in the app that starts the Zap, Zapier's flood protection can hold it back.
