Overview

What the Member Kitchens Zapier integration actually does

Member Kitchens is a white-label meal planning tool where you share branded plans and recipes with clients and a community. Plugging it into Zapier means two things: what happens to a member (a purchase, a lapse, a streak) can set off work in your other tools, and those tools can create, pause or unlock members without you opening the admin.

A rescued checkout. Checkout Abandoned fires when someone typed an email at checkout and left. Hand that address to your email tool and the reminder goes out without anyone watching the sales page.

A member list that follows the money. Subscription Ended tells you who just lost access. Pair it with your spreadsheet, or flip the logic and use Pause Member and Resume Member from another tool when billing needs a break instead of a goodbye.

Progress you can celebrate. Streak Milestone Reached fires at 7, 14, 30, 60 and 90 consecutive days. A message at the right threshold costs one task and reads as personal attention.

What Zapier does not do here: no action touches recipes or meal plans, so the content itself stays in Member Kitchens. Revoke Access Level cannot take away access that came from a subscription or a purchase. And a Zap never reaches back to members who existed before it was switched on.

Vocabulary

Zapier words, in plain English

Seven terms come back on every line of this page. Here they are once, then used without reminders.

Zap
The automation you build: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time that trigger's event happens.
Trigger
The event in an app that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is on, Zapier sits and waits for it to happen.
Action
What the Zap does after it starts: the step that creates, updates, sends or removes something for you.
Task
The unit Zapier bills. One task is one action your Zap finished successfully, and your plan counts those.
Polling vs instant
A polling trigger is checked by Zapier on a timer. An instant trigger is reported by the app itself, so nothing waits.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap continue only when the incoming data meets your condition, and stops it quietly otherwise.
Search step
A step that looks up something already in an app, so the steps after it can use what was found.
Connection
Your Member Kitchens account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every step that talks to the app.
Cost

What it really costs

Member Kitchens is not reserved for paid plans: it works on the free plan.

  • Free plan100 tasks a month, unlimited two-step Zaps
  • Paid plans onlyFilters, search steps, second actions
  • This appAvailable on the free plan

The trigger never costs a task, and Zapier checking for new events costs nothing either. Each action that succeeds counts once, so a three-action Zap eats three times what a one-action Zap does, and an action that fails is not counted. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, but each one stops at two steps. Add a second action, a filter or a search step and you have a multi-step Zap, which needs a paid plan.

The grid below is how often Zapier checks a polling trigger on each plan. All 31 Member Kitchens triggers are instant, so it does not apply to them.

Connect

Connect your Member Kitchens account

  1. 01

    Open your connections

In Zapier, go to the Apps page of your account and click + Add connection. You need an account on Member Kitchens, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch.

  2. 02

    Pick Member Kitchens

Type Member Kitchens in the search box of the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. A new tab opens on the Member Kitchens sign-in page, separate from the Zapier window.

  3. 03

    Sign in and allow access

Log in to Member Kitchens in that tab and grant Zapier access to the account. From then on, every Zap that uses Member Kitchens can reuse that same connection.

First Zap

Your first Zap: new leads, sorted before they reach your list

GoalEvery lead captured by a Member Kitchens form lands in your email tool, but only when it passes the condition you set.

  1. 01

    Create the Zap

Start a new Zap and choose Member Kitchens as the app that starts it. Connect the account you linked earlier if Zapier asks which one to use.

  2. 02

    Set the trigger

Pick New Marketing Lead as the event. Test it: Zapier brings back the three most recent leads of the account, so you map on a real one instead of a guess.

  3. 03

    Add the filter

Click the plus icon, choose Filter, then fill the three boxes: the field to look at, the rule, the value. A text rule only works on text, so pick the type that matches the field.

  4. 04

    Add the action

Add your email tool as the next step and map the lead's details from the trigger. Check in the test result which details actually arrive.

  5. 05

    Test, then publish

Run each step once and read what came back. Then click Publish. The filter makes this a multi-step Zap, so it needs a paid plan.

Triggers

Member Kitchens triggers: 31 events, all instant

31 events start a Zap when something happens in Member Kitchens, and 31 of them are instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.

1

Access Expired

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when time-limited access lapses (duration program or term-limited subscription).”

Access that was only meant to last a while, from a duration program or a term-limited subscription, has run out for a member. That lapse starts the Zap. It is a close cousin of Access Revoked, which also fires on expirations, so pick one of the two for a given job.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
send a renewal offer to people whose fixed-length program just closed, while they still remember what they got from it.
2

Access Granted

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when access is granted to a user (via purchase, subscription, or manual grant).”

Any route into the app counts here: a purchase, a subscription or a grant made by hand. One trigger covers all three, so you do not need a separate Zap per route.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
one onboarding Zap for everyone instead of one per payment type.
Watch out
as a general rule, a Zap that writes where its own trigger watches can set itself off again.
3

Access Revoked

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when access is revoked from a user (via cancellation, expiration, or manual removal).”

The reverse move: access taken away through a cancellation, an expiry or a manual removal. Whatever the cause, the Zap gets the news. If the time-limited case is the only one you care about, Access Expired covers it on its own.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
clean up the other tools your Zaps added this member to, so nobody keeps receiving content they no longer pay for.
4

Checkout Abandoned

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when someone enters their email at checkout but does not complete the purchase.”

Someone typed their email at checkout and walked away without paying. That half-finished purchase is the event. Apart from the marketing lead triggers, it is the one event here about people who are not customers yet.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
send a reminder through your email tool to people who stopped one step short of buying.
Watch out
only visitors who reached the email field are caught, so earlier drop-offs never show up.
5

Content Completion Milestone Reached

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a user completes a content milestone (10, 25, 50, 100, or 250 items completed).”

Member Kitchens counts the content items a member completes and fires at five thresholds: 10, 25, 50, 100 and 250 items. Points Milestone Reached and Streak Milestone Reached follow the same idea for points and for days in a row.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
reward steady progress with a congratulation message or a tag in your email tool, tied to the threshold the member just crossed.
6

Course Completed

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a user completes a course.”

A member reaching the end of a course is what this one listens for. Each finished course is its own event. For the start of the journey rather than the end, First Course Enrolled is the matching trigger.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
generate a certificate in your document tool, or point the member to the next course while motivation is high.
7

Email Changed

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a member changes their email address (self-service or admin-initiated).”

A member's address changed, whether they edited it themselves or an admin did it for them. Check at the test which addresses the event carries. Other edits to the account go through Updated User; this one is about the address alone.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
update the contact record in your email tool, so newsletters stop going to an inbox the member no longer reads.
8

First Comment

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a user posts their first comment.”

The very first comment a member posts starts this Zap. Later comments from the same person leave it alone. It belongs to a family of first-time triggers, alongside First Favorite, First Rating and First Recipe Created.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
welcome a new voice in your community with a short personal note, or alert the person who moderates discussions.
9

First Course Enrolled

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a user enrolls in their first course.”

Watches for a member signing up to a course for the first time. It marks the shift from browsing recipes to following a program. Course Completed picks up the other end of the same story, once a course is finished.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
start a short email series that explains how courses work, only for people who have just taken that step.
10

First Favorite

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a user favorites content for the first time.”

A member saved a piece of content as a favorite for the first time. Small gesture, useful signal: they found something worth keeping. First Rating and First Comment catch the next, more vocal kinds of engagement from the same member.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
tag the member as engaged in your email tool, so your next campaign treats them differently from silent accounts.
11

First Rating

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a user rates content for the first time.”

Fires the first time a member rates a piece of content. It tells you who is ready to give an opinion. Paired with First Comment, it shows who is moving from quiet reading to speaking up.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
invite that member to a longer feedback form, since they have already shown they will answer.
12

First Recipe Created

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a member creates their first recipe.”

When a member builds their own recipe for the first time, this one fires. It is the moment someone moves from reader to contributor. Of all the first-time triggers, it is the only one about members producing content of their own.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
notify your team so someone can look at the recipe and encourage the member to share more.
13

Marketing Lead Deleted

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a marketing lead is deleted from your Member Kitchens app.”

A marketing lead was removed from your Member Kitchens app. The Zap starts on the deletion itself. It concerns leads only: member accounts follow their own path, with Delete User on the action side.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
remove the same person from your email tool or spreadsheet, so a lead deleted on one side does not live on in another.
Watch out
check at the test which details a deleted lead still carries.
14

Marketing Lead Status Changed

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a marketing lead status changes (active, unsubscribed, or suppressed).”

Follows a lead moving between three statuses: active, unsubscribed or suppressed. Any of those moves starts the Zap. These are the same three values that Update Marketing Lead Status can set from another tool.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
mirror an unsubscribe in your other mailing tools, with a filter so only that status goes through.
Watch out
the filter makes it a multi-step Zap, so a paid plan.
15

New Marketing Lead

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when someone submits a marketing lead capture form (or when a lead is captured via API).”

Someone filled in a Member Kitchens lead capture form, or a lead was captured by another route. Either way, a fresh lead starts the Zap. Member accounts have their own trigger, New User; this one is about leads only.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
push new leads into the email tool that runs your nurture sequence, so nobody waits for a manual export.
16

New Purchase

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when any purchase is completed (subscription or one-time purchase).”

Every completed purchase, a subscription or a one-time buy, lands here. It is the broadest money event of the app. Narrower triggers sit next to it: New Subscription Started for new subscriptions and Subscription Renewed for renewals.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
log each sale as a row in your spreadsheet, so revenue tracking does not depend on someone copying it over.
17

New User

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a new user is created in your Member Kitchens app.”

A user account appeared in your Member Kitchens app, whatever created it. That new account is the starting point. For a status change on an account that already exists, look at User Activated or User Status Changed instead.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
add every new user to your email tool with a welcome tag.
Watch out
any Zap that writes into the place its trigger watches can restart itself, so check the loop at the test.
18

PDF Exported

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a user exports a recipe or meal plan as PDF. Useful for tracking download behavior and potential churn signals.”

A member downloaded a recipe or a meal plan as a PDF. Member Kitchens itself presents this as a way to follow download habits and spot possible churn. It is the only trigger of the app about downloads.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
log exports in a spreadsheet and look for members who download a lot just before they leave.
19

Points Milestone Reached

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a user reaches a lifetime points milestone (100, 500, 1000, 5000, or 10000 points).”

Lifetime points add up, and this trigger fires at 100, 500, 1000, 5000 and 10000 points. Each threshold is its own event. Content Completion Milestone Reached and Streak Milestone Reached work the same way for completed items and days in a row.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
send a reward code from your email tool at the higher thresholds, with a filter to skip the first ones (a filter means a paid plan).
20

Streak Milestone Reached

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a user reaches a streak milestone (7, 14, 30, 60, or 90 consecutive days).”

Consecutive days of activity are counted, and the Zap starts at 7, 14, 30, 60 and 90 days in a row. It is the one milestone trigger measured in days rather than in points or items.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
a short message that names the streak reads as attention, not as a newsletter, and keeps the habit going.
21

Subscription Cancelled

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a user cancels their subscription (but access continues until period end).”

A member cancelled their subscription, but their access keeps running until the end of the paid period. The cancellation itself starts the Zap. Between this event and Subscription Ended, the member is still inside the paid period.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
ask why they left while they can still use the app, then act on the answer.
Watch out
the member still has access; to react to the actual loss, use Subscription Ended.
22

Subscription Ended

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a subscription ends and the user loses access.”

The subscription is over and the member has lost access. This is the hard stop, not the announcement. For the earlier warning, Subscription Cancelled fires when the member cancels, before access stops.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
move the person to a former-members segment in your email tool and stop sending them content they can no longer open.
23

Subscription Renewed

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a subscription renews successfully (payment succeeded).”

A renewal went through and the payment succeeded. Failed renewals are not part of this event. Next to New Subscription Started, it helps you tell first payments from repeat ones.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
add a row to your revenue spreadsheet, or thank loyal members once their renewal clears and the payment is confirmed.
24

New Subscription Started

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a new subscription is started in your Member Kitchens app.”

A brand-new subscription began in your Member Kitchens app. One-time purchases do not count here, only subscriptions. Renewals of that subscription have their own trigger, Subscription Renewed.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
start a subscriber-only onboarding, different from what one-time buyers receive.
Watch out
for every purchase type at once, New Purchase is the wider net.
25

Subscription Status Changed

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when any subscription status changes. Use filters or the individual triggers for specific events.”

The catch-all for subscriptions: any status change fires it. The app itself advises adding a filter or using the dedicated triggers for specific events. Started, renewed, cancelled and ended each have a dedicated trigger as well.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
keep a single log of every subscription move in your spreadsheet.
Watch out
each change is one more run, so expect more tasks than with a narrow trigger.
26

Updated User

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when an existing user is updated in your Member Kitchens app.”

An existing user's record changed in your Member Kitchens app. It reacts to edits, not to new accounts. A new email address also has its dedicated trigger, Email Changed.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
keep a copy of member details in another tool in step with the app.
Watch out
check at the test which changes reach it.
27

User Activated

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a user is activated (e.g., unsuspended or completes signup) in your Member Kitchens app.”

A user became active, for example after being unsuspended or after finishing signup. Two very different stories end in the same event. Its opposite events are User Paused and User Suspended, each with a trigger of its own.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
send the getting-started email only to people who completed signup, not to everyone who opened the form.
28

User Paused

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a user's membership is paused (access blocked, billing paused) in your Member Kitchens app.”

A membership was put on hold: access is blocked and billing is paused at the same time. The action side mirrors it: Pause Member puts a member on hold from another tool.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
note the pause in your spreadsheet and plan a friendly check-in, since a paused member is still a member worth keeping.
29

User Resumed

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a paused user's membership is resumed (access and billing restored) in your Member Kitchens app.”

A paused member is back: access and billing are both restored. The return is what starts the Zap. On the action side, Resume Member brings a member back from another tool.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
send a welcome-back message that points to what was added while the member was away.
30

User Status Changed

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a user's status changes (e.g., activated, suspended, paused) in your Member Kitchens app.”

Covers every user status move at once, for example activated, suspended or paused. It is the wide view on member accounts. User Activated, User Paused, User Resumed and User Suspended each cover one of these moves alone.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
one audit trail of status changes in a spreadsheet.
Watch out
to act on one status only, the dedicated trigger saves you a filter and a paid plan.
31

User Suspended

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a user is suspended in your Member Kitchens app.”

A user was suspended in your Member Kitchens app. This one fires on suspension alone, not on pauses. Unsuspend Member is the action that reverses it from another tool.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
alert whoever handles account issues, so the case gets a follow-up instead of sitting unnoticed in the admin.
Actions

Member Kitchens actions

Member Kitchens gives you 15 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Cancel Subscription

Action

In Zapier“Cancels a member's Stripe subscription if they have one. Succeeds with canceled=false when there is no active subscription.”

Cancels the member's Stripe subscription when one exists. If there is no active subscription, the step still succeeds and reports canceled=false.

When to use it
cancellation requests arrive through a form outside the app.
Watch out
a success does not mean something was cancelled; check that value.
2

Create or Update Marketing Lead

Action

In Zapier“Creates a new marketing lead or updates an existing one by email. Requires consent text and version.”

Adds a lead, or updates the existing one with the same email. Email, Consent Text and Consent Version are all required.

When to use it
leads collected on another form should land in Member Kitchens with their consent recorded.
Watch out
without the exact consent wording and its version, the step cannot run.
3

Create User

Action

In Zapier“Creates a new user in your Member Kitchens app. Optionally grant an access level in the same step.”

Opens a new account in your Member Kitchens app from an email address, and can grant an access level in the same step.

When to use it
a sale recorded in another tool should give the buyer an account without manual work.
Watch out
the email must be unique, and the Send Welcome Email option decides whether the person hears about it.
4

Delete Marketing Lead

Action

In Zapier“Deletes a marketing lead from your Member Kitchens app. Find by email or Lead ID.”

Erases a marketing lead, found by email or by Lead ID. It works on leads; for member accounts, Delete User is the action.

When to use it
a lead asks to be forgotten through a form, and the request should reach Member Kitchens as well as your other lists.
5

Delete User

Action

In Zapier“Deletes a user from your Member Kitchens app. Find by email or provide User ID.”

Removes a user from your Member Kitchens app, found by email or by User ID. Find User can come first when only a query is known.

When to use it
a deletion request from your privacy form should reach the app.
Watch out
this is not End Membership; to keep the history, use that one instead.
6

End Membership

Action

In Zapier“Revokes all access and cancels any Stripe subscriptions. Does not delete the account or member data.”

Revokes all access and cancels any Stripe subscription in one go. The account and the member's data stay in place. Use Pause Member instead when the member should be able to come back with nothing lost.

When to use it
a full offboarding, where you still want the history kept.
7

Grant Access Level

Action

In Zapier“Grants an access level to a user in your Member Kitchens app. Optionally notify the user via email.”

Gives a user an access level, with an optional email to tell them. New users get a password setup link in that email.

When to use it
a payment taken outside Member Kitchens should unlock the matching content.
Watch out
the Access Level field is required; check at the test which levels it offers.
8

Pause Member

Action

In Zapier“Pauses a member's access and billing. While paused, the member cannot access content and no charges are made.”

Puts a member on hold: no access to content and no charges while paused.

When to use it
a break request from your helpdesk form, without anyone logging into the admin.
Watch out
unlike Suspend Member, this one stops billing too.
9

Resend Welcome Email

Action

In Zapier“Resends a welcome email to a user. Includes account setup for new users, or a login link for existing users.”

Sends the welcome email again: account setup for new users, a login link for existing ones. Include Setup Link adds a reset link for people who already have credentials. It fits right after Create User when the first message never arrived.

When to use it
a member says they never got in, and support logs the request elsewhere.
10

Resume Member

Action

In Zapier“Resumes a paused member's access and billing. The subscription is extended by the pause duration.”

Brings a paused member back, with access and billing restored. The subscription is extended by the length of the pause, so the paused time is added back.

When to use it
the planned return date of a break arrives in your calendar or tracker.
11

Revoke Access Level

Action

In Zapier“Revokes an access level from a user. Optionally suspend the user too. Note: Cannot revoke paid access (from subscriptions or purchases).”

Removes an access level from a user and, if you tick Also Suspend User, blocks their login too.

When to use it
a manual grant, like a trial or a bonus, has to end.
Watch out
paid access from a subscription or a purchase cannot be revoked with this action.
12

Suspend Member

Action

In Zapier“Suspends a member's access. Use for policy violations or account issues. Does not affect billing — use Pause Member to also pause billing.”

Cuts a member's access for policy violations or account problems. Billing is left untouched.

When to use it
a moderation decision recorded in another tool should take effect in the app.
Watch out
to stop charges as well, Pause Member is the right action.
13

Unsuspend Member

Action

In Zapier“Restores a suspended member's access to your Member Kitchens app.”

Restores the access of a suspended member in your Member Kitchens app. It is the counterpart of Suspend Member.

When to use it
the issue behind a suspension is marked as solved in your tracker, and the member should be let back in without waiting for an admin.
14

Update Marketing Lead Status

Action

In Zapier“Updates a marketing lead status (active, unsubscribed, or suppressed). Active requires consent.”

Moves a lead to active, unsubscribed or suppressed. Status is the one required field. It sets the same three values that Marketing Lead Status Changed reports.

When to use it
an unsubscribe in your email tool should be reflected in Member Kitchens too.
Watch out
setting a lead back to active requires consent.
15

Update User

Action

In Zapier“Updates an existing user in your Member Kitchens app. You can find the user by email OR use a User ID from a previous step.”

Edits an existing user, found by email or by a User ID from an earlier step. Its Suspend User and Pause Member fields can also change the member's status.

When to use it
details changed in another tool should reach the member's account.
Watch out
leave Suspend User blank to keep the current status.
Searches

Member Kitchens searches

2 search steps look for data that already exists in Member Kitchens, so a later step can use it.

A search step finds a member or a lead that already exists, so the next step can act on it. In the editor, searches sit at the bottom of the Action event list under SEARCH. Three settings decide what happens when the result is not clean.

1

Find Marketing Lead

SearchFind or create

In Zapier“Finds a marketing lead by email, ID, or search query.”

Looks up a lead by email, ID or search query and hands it to the next step.

When to use it
before Update Marketing Lead Status, to be sure you change the right lead.
Watch out
Find or Create Marketing Lead in the editor is this same search with the create box ticked, not a separate operation.
2

Find User

SearchFind or create

In Zapier“Finds a user by email, ID, or search query in your Member Kitchens app.”

Retrieves a user by email, ID or search query in your Member Kitchens app.

When to use it
you only have an email from another tool and need the account before Pause Member or Grant Access Level.
Watch out
Find or Create User is this search with creation switched on, so it never counts as an extra operation.

The three settings every search exposes

  1. Successful if no search results are found?
Left on its default, a search that finds nothing stops the Zap and the steps that need it are skipped. Switched on, the Zap continues without a result.
  2. Create X if it doesn't exist yet?
Ticking this turns the search into a find-or-create: it drops the setting above and asks for the fields needed to create the missing item.
  3. If multiple search results are found?
Three ways out when several items match: keep the first one (the default), stop the Zap, or pass all of them on.
When it breaks

When it breaks

Zapier links no help article to Member Kitchens, so the cases below come from Zapier's general limits and from what the actions say about themselves.

The tricky cases here are Zaps that run but do less than you expected, or more. Read these six before you publish.

A Zap only reacts to events after it is switched on. Members, leads and purchases that existed before stay where they are; moving them is a separate job.
  • A Zap that restarts itself

As a general precaution: a Zap that writes where its own trigger watches can set itself off again and burn through your task count. Check this before publishing a Zap that writes back into Member Kitchens.
  • A sudden flood is held back

After a bulk import, a trigger that suddenly sends a huge batch can be held back by Zapier's flood protection.
  • Paid access will not go away

Revoke Access Level cannot remove access that came from a subscription or a purchase. Use End Membership or Cancel Subscription for those.
  • A cancel that cancelled nothing

Cancel Subscription succeeds even when there is no active subscription, and reports canceled=false. The run counts as a success while nothing changed.
  • Duplicate emails

Create User needs an email that is unique in the app. If the person may already have an account, use Find User with the create box ticked instead.

FAQ

Member Kitchens Zapier FAQ

01Is the Member Kitchens Zapier integration free?
Yes, Member Kitchens is not reserved for paid plans, so it runs on Zapier's free plan. That plan gives you 100 tasks a month and as many Zaps as you like, each limited to two steps: one trigger and one action. The moment you add a filter, a search step or a second action, the Zap becomes multi-step and needs a paid plan. For a single event like New Purchase feeding one row into a spreadsheet, the free plan is enough.
02How many tasks does a Member Kitchens Zap use?
One task per action that succeeds, nothing else. The trigger is free, and Zapier waiting for events costs nothing either. A Zap that fires on Streak Milestone Reached and sends one message uses one task each time. Add a second action and that same event costs two. An action that fails is not counted. Broad triggers like Subscription Status Changed or User Status Changed fire on every move, so they are the ones that eat the most tasks.
03Do Member Kitchens triggers run in real time?
Yes. All 31 triggers are instant: Member Kitchens tells Zapier the moment the event happens, and the Zap starts without waiting for a check. That holds on every plan, the free one included. The plan grid of check intervals applies to polling triggers only, and this app has none. In the editor, a Zap built on an instant trigger shows a lightning bolt. Instant does not mean free of limits: a sudden flood of events, after a bulk import for example, can still be held back by Zapier's flood protection.
04What does connecting Member Kitchens to Zapier require?
An account on Member Kitchens, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch. In Zapier, open the Apps page, click + Add connection, search Member Kitchens, click Add connection, sign in in the new tab and grant access. Grant Access Level and Revoke Access Level both require an Access Level, so check at the test which levels the field offers for your account. Once linked, the same connection serves every Zap that uses the app.
05Why didn't Revoke Access Level remove a member's access?
Because that action cannot revoke paid access. If the access came from a subscription or a purchase, Revoke Access Level leaves it in place. It works on access granted by hand. For paying members, End Membership revokes all access and cancels any Stripe subscription while keeping the account and data, and Cancel Subscription stops the Stripe subscription alone. Pause Member is the softer option when billing and access should both stop for a while.
06What if the Member Kitchens operation is missing?
Check the app page on Zapier first: it shows the current list of operations, 48 at the time of writing, and some needs hide inside another one. Update User, for instance, can also suspend or pause a member through its own fields, and Create User can grant an access level in the same step. When the value you need is not carried by the trigger, a search step such as Find User can fetch it. If nothing matches, the task belongs to another tool in the Zap.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for Member Kitchens?
Decide on criteria, not on a winner. First, coverage: on Zapier, Member Kitchens offers 48 operations, all 31 triggers instant, so check that the events you need exist on the other platform before comparing anything else. Second, billing: Zapier counts each successful action as a task, so estimate how many member events you get. Third, who maintains it: a two-step Zap on the free plan is easy to hand over to someone non-technical.
