Overview

What the Menaflow Zapier integration does

The Menaflow Zapier integration links Menaflow, a customer engagement platform across channels built for businesses in the Middle East, to the apps where your contacts first appear. It only writes into Menaflow: another app always starts the Zap, and Menaflow receives the result.

Three typical results. A subscriber list that keeps itself current: Add or Update a Subscriber takes the email that a form or another app hands over and adds that person, or refreshes their fields and tags if they are already there. Tags that follow your campaigns: Create a New Tag opens a fresh label when a new campaign or list starts elsewhere, and Delete Tag removes one you no longer use. Opt-outs that travel: Unsubscribe Contact removes a person from your sends when another tool records that they asked to stop.

What Zapier does not do for Menaflow. It cannot start a Zap from Menaflow: the app offers no trigger, so nothing that happens inside Menaflow can set off an automation. It has no search step either, so a Zap cannot look up a subscriber before acting. And like every Zap, it ignores what existed before you switched it on. To weigh other tools for this, see our Make vs Zapier comparison.

Vocabulary

Zapier vocabulary in one minute

Seven words come back throughout this page. Here they are in plain English.

Zap
The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time the trigger event happens.
Trigger
The event in an app that starts the Zap. Menaflow has none, so this event always comes from another app, like a form.
Action
What the Zap does once it has started: the step that writes or sends something for you, such as adding a subscriber.
Task
The unit Zapier bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. The count on your plan is a count of those.
Polling vs instant
Polling: Zapier checks the starting app on a timer. Instant: that app calls Zapier itself. It depends on the other app here.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap go on only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
Multi-step Zap
Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A filter or a second Menaflow action makes it one, and it then needs a paid plan.
Cost

What a Menaflow Zap really costs

The rule: the trigger in the other app is free, each Menaflow action that succeeds is billed.

  • Free plan100 tasks a month, unlimited Zaps, two steps each
  • Premium appNo, Menaflow runs on the free plan
  • Trigger costNone, only completed actions count

Every Menaflow action that goes through costs one task, so a Zap that adds a subscriber uses one per new contact, and a Zap that also tags them uses two. A failed action is not counted, and the trigger never costs anything. Menaflow is not a premium app, so the free plan runs it, but only in two-step Zaps: one trigger, one action. A filter or a second action makes the Zap multi-step, which needs a paid plan. The interval grid below applies to the starting app's trigger only when that trigger is a polling one; Menaflow has no trigger of its own.

Connect

Connect Menaflow to Zapier in three steps

  1. 01

Open Apps and add a connection

In your Zapier account, open the Apps page and click + Add connection. Type Menaflow in the dialog's search box and pick it. Every Menaflow action you add later reuses this one connection.

  2. 02

    Sign in to Menaflow

Click Add connection. A new tab opens on Menaflow: sign in with the account that holds the subscribers and tags your Zaps will change. No account, nothing to link.

  3. 03

    Grant access

Grant Zapier access to the account. The prerequisite in Zapier's terms: an account on the app, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch.

First Zap

Your first Zap: form sign-ups into Menaflow

GoalAdd each person who fills in your form to Menaflow as a subscriber, but only when they passed your filter.

  1. 01

Create the Zap and pick the form trigger

Create a new Zap and choose your form tool with its new-submission event. Menaflow has no trigger, so the Zap always starts in another app like this one.

  2. 02

    Test the trigger

Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent submissions of the connected account; pick one that contains an email address, since Menaflow will need it.

  3. 03

    Add the filter

Click the plus icon, add Filter and set the field, the rule and the value. Use a text rule on text. The filter makes the Zap multi-step, so a paid plan is needed.

  4. 04

Add Add or Update a Subscriber

Choose Menaflow and Add or Update a Subscriber, then map the email from the form into Email. Run the step test and check the subscriber in Menaflow.

  5. 05

    Publish

Click Publish to switch the Zap on. Only submissions received after this point reach Menaflow; earlier ones stay in your form tool.

Actions

Menaflow actions

Menaflow gives you 4 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Add or Update a Subscriber

Action

In Zapier“Adds a new subscriber or updates fields and tags for an existing subscriber”

Puts a person into your Menaflow audience. A new address becomes a subscriber; for someone already there, the step refreshes their fields and tags instead of starting over.

When to use it
a sign-up, an order or a contact form elsewhere should land in Menaflow with the right tags.
Watch out
Email is required; check at the test which subscriber the step updated.
2

Create a New Tag

Action

In Zapier“Create a New Tag”

Adds a fresh tag to your Menaflow account, ready to sort subscribers into a group you can target later.

When to use it
a new campaign, product or list is launched in another tool and needs its own label in Menaflow.
Watch out
Name is required; type it exactly as you will reuse it in your subscriber Zaps.
3

Delete Tag

Action

In Zapier“Deletes a tag from your MuxEmail account”

Removes a tag from your account by its name, which keeps the tag list tidy once a campaign is over.

When to use it
a list or campaign is closed elsewhere and its Menaflow label no longer serves.
Watch out
Tag Name is required; check at the test that the name you map is the tag you mean to remove.
4

Unsubscribe Contact

Action

In Zapier“Unsubscribes a contact”

Switches a contact to unsubscribed in Menaflow, so you stop writing to someone who asked to leave.

When to use it
another tool records that someone opted out, and Menaflow should know it too.
Watch out
Email is required; confirm at the test which contact the step unsubscribed.
When it breaks

When a Menaflow Zap breaks

Zapier attaches no help article to Menaflow and lists no limit of its own for it. The failures to plan for are the general ones.

Four cases are worth checking before you publish. If a Zap still misbehaves, see our Zapier troubleshooting guide.

  • Past contacts are not sent

A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. Contacts that existed before are never picked up; moving that backlog is a separate job.
  • A Zap that sets itself off

A Zap that writes into the very place its own trigger watches can start itself again and burn tasks. Check any Zap whose starting app also receives its output.
  • Flood protection after an import

If the starting app suddenly returns a huge batch, after a bulk import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold those items back.
  • A filter that never passes

Filter rules are typed: a text rule only works on text, a number rule only on numbers. The wrong type is why a filter lets no contact through.

FAQ

Menaflow and Zapier: frequent questions

01Is the Menaflow Zapier integration free?
Yes. Menaflow is not a premium app, so every Zapier plan can use it, the free one included. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and an unlimited number of Zaps, each limited to two steps: one trigger and one action. A form that adds each new sign-up to Menaflow fits in that frame. Add a filter, or a second Menaflow action such as creating a tag first, and the Zap becomes multi-step, which requires a paid plan.
02How many tasks does a Menaflow Zap use?
One per Menaflow action that succeeds. The trigger in the other app never costs a task. A Zap that adds a subscriber per form entry uses one task per entry; if it also creates a tag, it uses two. An action that fails is not counted. So the figure to estimate is the number of contacts you expect per month, multiplied by the number of actions, against the 100 tasks of the free plan.
03Is a Menaflow Zap real time?
That depends on the app that starts it, since Menaflow has no trigger. If that app's trigger is instant, the Zap runs right after the event whatever your plan. If it is a polling trigger, Zapier checks it at your plan's interval: 15 minutes on Free, 2 on Professional, 1 on Team and Enterprise. The Menaflow actions then run when the Zap reaches them. Check the trigger type on the other app's page before you promise any delay.
04What does connecting Menaflow to Zapier require?
An account on Menaflow, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch. You connect once from the Apps page with + Add connection, sign in to Menaflow in the tab that opens and grant Zapier access. Every Menaflow action reuses that connection. Plan for the email as well: two of the four actions require one, and it must come from the app that starts the Zap.
05Can a Zap start from something that happens in Menaflow?
No. Zapier lists no trigger for Menaflow, so a new subscriber, a new tag or an unsubscribe inside Menaflow cannot set off a Zap. The integration works one way: another app starts the Zap, and Menaflow receives the change through one of its four actions. If you need to react to events in Menaflow, that has to happen in Menaflow itself. Design your flows from the app where the contact first appears.
06What if the Menaflow action you need is missing?
Then it is not offered today. Zapier lists 4 actions for Menaflow: Add or Update a Subscriber, Create a New Tag, Delete Tag and Unsubscribe Contact, with no trigger and no search. The Menaflow page on Zapier shows the current list, so confirm there before planning around a gap. Anything else, such as sending a campaign, is done in Menaflow itself. Two of the four actions require an Email, so whatever you build still needs an app upstream that provides that address.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for Menaflow?
Choose by criterion. Catalogue: Zapier offers four Menaflow actions and no trigger; whether Make or n8n offer Menaflow is not covered here, so check their own catalogues. Starting point: since every Zap begins in another app, the speed depends on that app's trigger. Cost: Zapier bills each successful action as one task, and its free plan stops at two steps. Weigh the criterion that constrains you most, rather than a general ranking.
