Overview

What the Loopy Loyalty Zapier integration does for you

The Loopy Loyalty Zapier integration links your digital loyalty stamp cards, the ones customers keep in Apple Wallet or Android Pay, to the other apps your business uses. A customer enrols, earns a stamp or a reward, and Zapier carries the consequence elsewhere; or something happens in another tool, and Zapier adds a stamp or sends a push for you.

Three results come up first. A member list outside Loopy Loyalty: New Enrollment writes each new card holder into a spreadsheet, so the list lives where the rest of the team works. A nudge at the right moment: Reward Earned is followed by Send Individual Push Message, and the customer's phone tells them a reward is waiting. Stamps from another tool: a new entry elsewhere that carries an email or a phone number feeds Add Stamp(s) With Unique Id, and the card fills up without anyone touching it.

What Zapier does not do here is worth knowing too. You cannot create or design a card from Zapier: the Card or Campaign Id fields assume it already exists in Loopy Loyalty. The searches find customers, not cards. And since every trigger is instant, the free plan's wait between checks never applies to this app (good news for anything time-sensitive like a reward).

Vocabulary

Zapier words, in one minute

Seven words come back all through this page. Here they are in plain English.

Zap
The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time that trigger event happens.
Trigger
The event in an app that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is switched on, Zapier sits and waits for that event to happen.
Action
What the Zap does once it has started: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you in an app.
Task
The unit Zapier bills. One task is one action your Zap completes successfully, and your plan counts those.
Polling vs instant
A polling trigger is checked by Zapier on a timer. An instant trigger is reported by the app itself the moment the event happens.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap carry on only when the incoming data meets your condition, and stops it quietly otherwise.
Search step
A step that looks up something that already exists in an app, so the steps after it can reuse what it found.
Cost

What a Loopy Loyalty Zap really costs

Loopy Loyalty is not a premium app, so it works on the free plan. The trigger never costs a task, and watching for new stamps or rewards is free however often they happen.

  • Free plan100 tasks a month, unlimited Zaps
  • Zap size on FreeTwo steps: one trigger, one action
  • Premium appNo, Loopy Loyalty works on every plan
  • Loopy Loyalty triggers5 instant, 0 polling

Each action that goes through counts as one task; a failed one is not counted. A three-action Zap eats three times more than a one-action Zap. The free plan stops at two steps, so a filter, a search such as Find a Customer, or a second action makes a multi-step Zap, which needs a paid plan. The interval grid below is Zapier's general rule for polling triggers: it does not apply to the instant triggers of Loopy Loyalty.

Connect

Connect your Loopy Loyalty account to Zapier

  1. 01

    Open the Apps page

In your Zapier account, open Apps and click + Add connection. A connection is your Loopy Loyalty account linked once, then reused by every step that touches your cards.

  2. 02

    Pick Loopy Loyalty

Type Loopy Loyalty in the search box of the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. You need an existing Loopy Loyalty account, plus access to any card you do not own and want the Zap to change.

  3. 03

    Sign in and allow access

A new tab opens on Loopy Loyalty. Sign in, then grant Zapier access to the account. Back in Zapier, the connection appears in your list and every Loopy Loyalty step can pick it.

First Zap

Your first Zap: a push when a reward is earned

GoalEach time a customer earns a reward on one of your cards, send that customer a push message, but only when the event meets the condition you set in a filter.

  1. 01

    Build the trigger

Create a Zap, pick Loopy Loyalty and Reward Earned, then your connection and the Card the trigger should watch, a required choice. It is instant: nothing waits for a timer.

  2. 02

    Test on a real reward

Click test: Zapier brings back the three most recent rewards on that card. Pick one, so the next steps are mapped on a real customer.

  3. 03

    Add the filter

Click the plus icon, choose Filter, then set the field to look at, the rule and the value. Use a number rule on a number field, or the filter never passes.

  4. 04

    Send the push

Add Send Individual Push Message. Map the Customer Id from the trigger, which is exactly where it should come from, and write the Message, also required.

  5. 05

    Test, then publish

Run each step once and check the push reaches a test card. Then click Publish. With its filter, this Zap needs a paid plan.

Triggers

Loopy Loyalty triggers: what starts a Zap

5 events start a Zap when something happens in Loopy Loyalty, and 5 of them are instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.

1

New Enrollment

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a customer enrols into a loyalty card programme.”

A customer joins one of your loyalty card programmes, and this trigger hands Zapier the new card holder. It is the first event in a customer's life on the card.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan
When to use it
every new member should land in a spreadsheet or another tool that keeps your customer list.
Watch out
the trigger will not work until you pick a Card, so the card must already exist in Loopy Loyalty.
2

Reward Forfeited

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers every time a reward is forfeit by deducting stamps.”

Sometimes stamps are deducted and a reward is lost. Each time that happens, Zapier gets the event with the customer concerned.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan
When to use it
you want a record of every lost reward, to spot when it happens more than it should.
Watch out
like every trigger here, it is tied to the Card you pick when you set it up.
3

Reward Redeemed

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers every time a reward is redeemed.”

A customer uses a reward: this is the trigger that hears about it, each time, on the card you choose.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan
When to use it
each redeemed reward should be logged in a spreadsheet, so you can see what the programme gives away.
Watch out
pair it with Redeem Reward on the same card and the Zap redeems again every time it runs.
4

Reward Earned

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers every time a reward is earned.”

When a card fills up and a reward becomes available, Zapier receives the customer who earned it. It is the moment people care about most.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan
When to use it
send the customer a push message so they know a reward is waiting.
Watch out
the Card field is required, so pick the programme whose rewards you want to follow.
5

Stamp(s) Added

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers every time a stamp is added.”

The most frequent event of all: each time a stamp is added to a card, the Zap starts with that customer.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan
When to use it
you want a running record of stamps in another tool, one line per stamp.
Watch out
it fires on every stamp, so a busy card can drain a free plan; and never pair it with Add Stamp(s) on the same card.
Actions

Loopy Loyalty actions: what the Zap does

Loopy Loyalty gives you 8 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Enroll Customer

Action

In Zapier“Adds a customer to your program.”

Adds a customer to one of your programmes. The Card field, which programme, is required.

When to use it
someone signs up in another tool and should get a stamp card without a second form.
Watch out
pick the right Card; the customer joins that programme and no other.
2

Add Stamp(s)

Action

In Zapier“Add stamp(s) to a customer's card.”

Adds stamps to a customer's card, using the Customer Id and a Number of Stamps, both required.

When to use it
a Loopy Loyalty trigger already gave you the customer and you want to add stamps to that same person.
Watch out
the Customer Id is meant to come from a trigger; from another app, use the Unique Id version.
3

List Cards

Action

In Zapier“Lists all the cards for campaign with ID. Select true on count to return only the count instead of the matching records.”

Lists the cards of a campaign, or returns only how many there are. Campaign Id, a 22-character code, and Count are required.

When to use it
you want the number of members of a programme written somewhere else.
Watch out
set Count to true for a number; left false, you get the full list of records.
4

Send Push Messages

Action

In Zapier“Send messages to all holders of the card”

Sends one message to every holder of a card. Campaign Id and Message are required.

When to use it
something in another tool should reach all your members at once.
Watch out
it reaches everyone on that card; check the Campaign Id before you publish.
5

Redeem Reward

Action

In Zapier“Redeems a reward from a customer's card.”

Uses up a reward on a customer's card, from a Customer Id and a Quantity, both required.

When to use it
a reward is handed over through another process and the card must reflect it.
Watch out
never put it behind Reward Redeemed on the same card, or each redemption the Zap makes starts the Zap again.
6

Send Individual Push Message

Action

In Zapier“Sends message to individual card holder”

Sends a push message to one card holder, from a Customer Id and a Message, both required.

When to use it
a single customer earned a reward or joined, and deserves a personal note on their phone.
Watch out
each push is a task, so a Zap on Stamp(s) Added can send a lot of them.
7

Add Stamp(s) With Unique Id

Action

In Zapier“Add stamp(s) to a customer's card with customer's unique id.”

Adds stamps by identifying the customer with an email, a phone number or a text, instead of Loopy Loyalty's own ID. Card, Unique Id Type, Unique Id and Number of Stamps are required.

When to use it
another tool knows the customer by email and should add a stamp.
Watch out
Unique Id Type tells Loopy Loyalty whether Unique Id is an email, a phone or a text; set it to the kind of value you map.
8

Redeem Reward With Unique Id

Action

In Zapier“Redeems a reward from a customer's card with customer's unique id.”

Same job, but the customer is found by email, phone or text. Card, Unique Id Type, Unique Id and Reward Quantity are required.

When to use it
the tool where the reward is used only knows the customer's email or phone.
Watch out
Reward Quantity is the number of rewards to redeem, so map how many rewards were handed over, not a stamp count.
Searches

Loopy Loyalty searches: finding a customer first

2 search steps look for data that already exists in Loopy Loyalty, so a later step can use it.

A search step looks up a customer who already exists so the next steps can use them. In the editor, searches sit at the bottom of the Action event list, under SEARCH. Three settings decide what happens when the result is not the one you expected.

1

Find a Customer

Search

In Zapier“Finds a customer by ID.”

Looks a customer up from their Loopy Loyalty ID and hands their details to the following steps.

When to use it
a trigger gave you an ID and you want more about that customer before acting.
Watch out
it needs Loopy Loyalty's own ID; with only an email, use the Unique Id search.
2

Find a Customer by Unique Id

Search

In Zapier“Finds a customer by Unique Id”

Finds a customer on a given Card from an email, a phone number or a text. Card, Unique Id Type and Unique Id are all required.

When to use it
another app knows the customer by email and the next step needs their Customer Id.
Watch out
the Card is required, so pick the programme the customer actually holds.

The three settings every search exposes

  1. Successful if no search results are found?
Left on its default, a search that finds nobody stops the Zap there and skips the steps that relied on it. Switched on, the Zap continues empty-handed.
  2. Create a customer if none is found?
On apps that offer it, this box turns a search into a find-or-create. Loopy Loyalty exposes no find-or-create variant, so its searches only ever find.
  3. If multiple search results are found?
Three ways out when several items match: keep the first one, which is the default, stop the Zap, or pass every match along at once.
When it breaks

When a Loopy Loyalty Zap breaks

Zapier attaches no help article to Loopy Loyalty, so the traps below come from how Zapier behaves, applied to stamps and rewards.

None of them shows while you build. They appear once real customers start collecting stamps. If one already blocks you, see Zapier troubleshooting.

  • Nothing from before the Zap

A Zap only reacts to what happens after you switch it on. Members who enrolled earlier are not picked up; moving that backlog is a separate job.
  • Stamps that add stamps

Stamp(s) Added with Add Stamp(s), or Reward Redeemed with Redeem Reward, on the same card: the Zap writes where its trigger watches and runs again and again.
  • A wave of stamps held back

A sudden burst of stamps or enrolments, after an import for example, can be held back by Zapier's flood protection instead of running all at once.

FAQ

Loopy Loyalty Zapier integration: frequent questions

01Is the Loopy Loyalty Zapier integration free?
Yes, within the free plan's limits. Loopy Loyalty is not a premium app, so Zapier does not reserve it for paid plans. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, each limited to two steps: one trigger and one action. New Enrollment writing a spreadsheet row fits that frame. A filter, a search such as Find a Customer by Unique Id, or a second action turns the Zap multi-step, and that needs a paid plan.
02How many tasks does a Loopy Loyalty Zap use?
One task per action that completes, nothing for the trigger. The trap on this app is frequency: Stamp(s) Added fires on every single stamp, so a Zap that sends a push after each stamp costs one task per stamp. On a busy card, the free plan's 100 tasks go fast. A Zap on Reward Earned runs far less often, since rewards are rarer than stamps. Failed actions are not counted, and searches inside a Zap only matter because they make it multi-step.
03Do Loopy Loyalty triggers run in real time?
Yes, all five. Every Loopy Loyalty trigger is instant: the app tells Zapier the moment a customer enrols, gets a stamp, earns, redeems or forfeits a reward, and the Zap starts right away. The interval grid that slows polling triggers, 15 minutes on the free plan, does not apply, so a push sent after Reward Earned goes out as soon as the reward exists. A lightning bolt in the editor marks a Zap built on an instant trigger.
04What does it take to connect Loopy Loyalty to Zapier?
A Loopy Loyalty account and a Zapier account. From the Apps page, click + Add connection, search for Loopy Loyalty, sign in in the tab that opens and grant access. The connection is saved once. You also need at least one card set up in Loopy Loyalty, because every trigger asks which Card to watch and several actions need a Card or a Campaign Id. If the Zap touches a card you do not own, your account needs access to it.
05Why does Add Stamp(s) ask for a Customer Id?
Because that action identifies the customer by Loopy Loyalty's own ID, which the field itself says should come from a trigger. That works when a Loopy Loyalty trigger starts the Zap. When the Zap starts in another app, that app does not know this ID. Use Add Stamp(s) With Unique Id instead, which finds the customer by email, phone or text, or put Find a Customer by Unique Id first to fetch the Customer Id.
06What if the Loopy Loyalty action you need is not in the list?
Then Zapier cannot do it directly: the editor offers the 8 actions and 2 searches described on this page. Creating or designing a card, for instance, has no action, and the searches look for customers, not cards. Sometimes a combination closes the gap, such as a search followed by an action. Otherwise the job stays inside Loopy Loyalty, or goes to another automation platform whose Loopy Loyalty operations cover it.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for Loopy Loyalty?
Decide on criteria, not on a winner. First, operations: compare the 5 triggers, 8 actions and 2 searches here with what each platform exposes for Loopy Loyalty. Second, volume: on Zapier each successful action is a task, and a Zap on every stamp adds up. Third, who maintains it: someone new to automation reads a two-step Zap more easily than a long flow that chains searches, filters and several actions.
