Mesh Zapier integrationAutomate Mesh with Zapier.
The Mesh Zapier integration gives you 0 triggers, 3 actions and 0 searches. Mesh can only receive: another app starts the Zap, and Mesh files the contact or the note. It works on the free plan, with Zaps limited to two steps.

What the Mesh Zapier integration actually does
Mesh is a CRM for your relationships: it keeps contacts gathered from email, calendar and social accounts in one place. Zapier, an automation service, lets other apps write into it. On Zapier, Mesh only exposes actions, so it is always the app that receives, never the one that starts things.
Three outcomes cover what you can get. First, a contact card that exists without retyping: Create or Update Contact takes a person's details from another app and files them in Mesh. Second, context attached to a person: Create Note pins a note to a contact you point at by email, full name or Twitter handle. Third, a record kept current: Update Contact rewrites a contact that is already in Mesh when the source changes.
Now the part the app page skips. Mesh has no trigger and no search on Zapier. Nothing that happens inside Mesh can start a Zap, so an edit made inside Mesh launches nothing. And no step can look a Mesh contact up to reuse its details further down. Every Zap therefore begins in another tool (a spreadsheet, a form, a calendar) and ends in Mesh.
That makes the setup short, but it also means the timing of your Zap depends entirely on the other app. If that tool reports events instantly, Mesh gets the data straight away. If Zapier has to go and check it, your plan's interval applies.

Zapier words in one minute
Seven terms come back on every Zapier screen. Here they are in plain English, once.
- Zap
- The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time the trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. With Mesh, it always comes from another app, since Mesh offers none.
- Action
- What the Zap does once started: the step that writes something for you. All three Mesh operations are actions.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. Your plan's count is a count of those.
- Polling vs instant
- A polling trigger is checked by Zapier on a timer. An instant trigger is reported by the app the moment the event happens.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap go on only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
- Multi-step Zap
- Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action or a filter makes one, and it then needs a paid plan.
What a Mesh Zap really costs
The trigger never costs a task, and neither does Zapier checking for new data. Only an action that goes through is counted.
- Free plan100 tasks per month, unlimited Zaps, two steps per Zap
- Mesh on the free planYes, it is not kept for paid plans
- BilledEach successful Mesh action, one task each
- Never billedThe trigger, the checks, a failed action
Each Mesh contact or note written is one task. A Zap that creates a contact and then adds a note counts two, and an action that fails is not counted. Mesh is not reserved for paid plans, so the free plan works, as long as you stay at one trigger and one action. Adding a filter or a second Mesh step turns the Zap multi-step, which needs a paid plan. The grid below applies to the polling trigger of the app that starts your Zap, never to an instant one.
Connect your Mesh account in three steps
- 01
Open your connections
In Zapier, go to the Apps page of your account and click + Add connection. A connection is your Mesh account linked once, then reused by every step that writes to Mesh.
- 02
Find Mesh
Type Mesh in the search box of the dialog that opens, pick it in the list, then click Add connection. A new browser tab opens, where Mesh asks you to sign in.
- 03
Sign in and grant access
Sign in to Mesh in that tab and grant Zapier access. You need an account on the app, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch.
Your first Mesh Zap
GoalEvery new response in your form tool becomes a Mesh contact, but only when it meets a condition you choose.
- 01
Create the Zap
Start a new Zap and pick your form tool and its new-response event as the trigger. Mesh offers no trigger, so the Zap has to start there.
- 02
Test the trigger
Run the test: Zapier brings back the three most recent responses from your connected account. Pick a real one so the mapping uses real values.
- 03
Add the filter
Click the plus icon, choose Filter, then set the field to look at, the rule and the value. Pick a rule that matches the type of the field, or the filter never passes.
- 04
Add the Mesh action
Add a step, pick Mesh and
Create or Update Contact, then map values from the form response into the Mesh fields the step shows. - 05
Test, then publish
Test the Mesh step and check the contact in Mesh. Then publish to switch the Zap on. With a filter this is a multi-step Zap, so it needs a paid plan.
The 3 Mesh actions
Mesh gives you 3 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.
Operations index
Create or Update Contact
ActionIn Zapier“Creates or updates a contact”
Files a person in Mesh from data another app holds, either as a new contact or by refreshing one already there.
Create Note
ActionIn Zapier“Creates a note for a specified contact (using the contact's email, full name, or Twitter handle)”
Pins a note to a Mesh contact, which you point at with their email, full name or Twitter handle.
Update Contact
ActionIn Zapier“Update an existing contact”
Rewrites a contact that already exists in Mesh, so its details follow the source instead of drifting.
When a Mesh Zap breaks
Zapier attaches no help article to Mesh and no Mesh-specific limit is documented there.
What can go wrong comes from how every Zap works. These four cases are the ones to know before you switch yours on. For a broken Zap, see our Zapier troubleshooting guide.
No backlog
A Zap only picks up what happens after you publish it. Contacts that already existed in your source app never reach Mesh unless you move them separately.A Zap that restarts itself
As a general precaution, a Zap that writes into the place its own trigger watches can set itself off again and burn through tasks fast.Flood protection
If the trigger app suddenly returns a huge batch, after a bulk import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold those items back.No duplicate runs
On a polling trigger, Zapier keeps track of what it has already seen, so the same row or response does not start the Zap twice.
