What the MiiTel Zapier integration actually does
MiiTel is an IP phone with AI built in: MiiTel Phone handles calls, MiiTel Live handles online meetings, and both produce transcripts, summaries, comments and memos. The Zapier integration sends those events out of MiiTel the moment they happen, so another tool can act on a missed call, a voicemail or fresh meeting minutes without anyone copying them.
Three results to start with. No missed call left unseen: Incoming Unanswered starts a Zap that posts the call into your team chat. Call summaries where people already work: Phone Minutes Generated sends the minutes of each call to your CRM or your notes. Meeting follow-ups written down: Meeting Minutes Generated pushes the summary of a MiiTel Live session to the place where the next steps get tracked.
What Zapier does not do here matters just as much. MiiTel has no action and no search step on Zapier: a Zap can start from MiiTel, but it cannot place a call, create a memo or change anything inside MiiTel. Every Zap therefore needs a second app to receive the data. That second app is where the action, and the task, happens. On the free plan this still works: one MiiTel trigger plus one action in another app make exactly the two steps that plan allows.

Zapier words in one minute
The rest of the page relies on these words. Each one is explained once, in plain English.
- Zap
- The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time that event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. All of MiiTel's 11 operations are triggers: they start Zaps, nothing more.
- Action
- What the Zap does once started: the step that writes, sends or moves something. With MiiTel, it always lives in another app.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills: one action that your Zap completes successfully. The allowance on your plan counts these.
- Polling vs instant
- A polling trigger is checked by Zapier on a timer. An instant trigger is reported by the app itself as the event occurs.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap continue only when the incoming item meets a condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
- Multi-step Zap
- Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action or a filter makes it one, and it then needs a paid plan.
- Connection
- Your MiiTel account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every Zap that starts from a MiiTel event.
What MiiTel costs you in tasks
MiiTel is not a premium app, so it works from the free plan. Its triggers never cost a task: the bill comes from the actions of the other apps in your Zap.
- MiiTel triggerFree, never counted
- Each successful action1 task
- Failed actionNot counted
- Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps
- Premium appNo
Every action that succeeds is one task, an action that fails is not counted. A Zap that posts a missed call to your chat spends one task per call; add a CRM update and it spends two. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, each limited to two steps: one trigger and one action. A second action or a filter needs a paid plan. The grid below is how often Zapier checks polling triggers; all 11 MiiTel triggers are instant, so it does not apply to them.
Connect your MiiTel account
- 01
Open the Apps page
In your Zapier account, go to Apps and click + Add connection. You need a MiiTel account, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch.
- 02
Pick MiiTel
Type MiiTel in the search box of the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. A new tab opens on the MiiTel side for the sign-in that follows. One connection covers all 11 triggers.
- 03
Sign in and allow access
Log in to MiiTel in that tab and grant Zapier access to the account. Every Zap that starts from a MiiTel event can then reuse this one connection. Once a Zap is on, Zapier simply waits for MiiTel to report.
Your first Zap: missed calls straight to your team chat
GoalEach time a call comes in and nobody picks up, post a message in your team chat so someone calls back.
- 01
Create the Zap
Start a new Zap and pick MiiTel as the app that starts it. One trigger and one action: this Zap fits on the free plan. There is no filter in it.
- 02
Set the trigger
Choose Incoming Unanswered and your MiiTel connection. It is instant, so the Zap runs as soon as MiiTel registers the missed call.
- 03
Test the trigger
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent items from your account, so you build the message on a real missed call and see which details it carries.
- 04
Add the chat action
Add your team chat app and its send-message action. Pick the channel, then map into the message the call details that the test showed you.
- 05
Test and publish
Test the action, check that the message lands in the right channel, then click Publish. Only calls missed after that moment are posted.

When a MiiTel Zap breaks
Zapier publishes no help article and no documented limit specific to MiiTel. What breaks is what breaks on any Zap, plus the fact that MiiTel never receives anything back.
Four cases to know before you switch a Zap on. If a run fails anyway, see our Zapier troubleshooting guide.
Past calls are not picked up
A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is published. Voicemails, minutes or memos created before that moment never start it; moving that backlog is a separate job.A Zap that keeps restarting itself
A Zap that writes into the very place its own trigger watches can set itself off again and again and burn through tasks fast. Keep the trigger's source and the action's target apart.A sudden flood of events
A trigger that suddenly sends a huge batch, after a bulk import or a migration for example, can be held back by Zapier's flood protection. The other app's action fails
An action that does not go through is not counted against your plan. The run still stops there, so nothing reaches the other app for that event.
