Overview

What the Miro Insights Zapier integration does for you

The Miro Insights Zapier integration lets your other apps send customer feedback into Miro Insights, a platform that uses AI to turn what customers say into suggestions for your product backlog. On Zapier, the automation you build is a Zap: an event in one app starts it, then one or more steps follow every time. Here, the last step files the feedback.

Survey answers that reach the backlog. A new entry in your form tool starts the Zap, and Create Feedback files the answer in Miro Insights. Its Content field accepts HTML; if your form sends formatted text, check at the test how it comes out.

Customer calls filed with their transcript. Create Feedback (Call) requires a Call Title, a Call Transcript and an Origin URL, a link whose expected content Zapier does not spell out. Put it after the tool that records your calls, and each conversation lands as feedback, ready for the synthesis.

One inbox for every source. One Zap per channel, each ending with one of the two actions, and Miro Insights becomes the single place where feedback from all of them meets.

What Zapier does not do here. Miro Insights has no trigger and no search on Zapier. A Zap cannot start from what happens in Miro Insights, cannot read back a recommendation, and cannot edit or delete feedback once it is filed. Vocabulary

Zapier vocabulary in one minute

Eight words come back throughout this page. Here they are once, in plain English, so the rest reads without a dictionary.

Zap
The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time the trigger event happens.
Trigger
The event in an app that starts a Zap. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it. Miro Insights has none, so it comes from another app.
Action
What the Zap does once it has started: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you. Miro Insights offers two.
Task
The unit Zapier bills. One task is one action your Zap completes successfully, and the allowance on your plan counts those.
Polling trigger
A trigger Zapier checks on a timer: it asks the app for new items at a fixed interval and keeps only what it has not seen before.
Instant trigger
A trigger the app reports itself: it calls Zapier the moment the event happens, so nothing waits for the next check.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap go on only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
Multi-step Zap
Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action, a filter or a search makes one, and it then needs a paid plan.
Cost

What a Miro Insights Zap really costs

Miro Insights is not a premium app, so it works from the free plan. The trigger, which comes from another app, never costs a task, and neither does Zapier checking for new data.

  • Free plan100 tasks a month
  • Zaps on the free planUnlimited, two steps each
  • Premium appNo
  • Cost of one feedback filed1 task when it succeeds

Each Create Feedback or Create Feedback (Call) that succeeds counts as one task; one that fails is not counted. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, each capped at two steps: one trigger, one action. A filter or a second action makes the Zap multi-step, which needs a paid plan. The grid below sets how often a polling trigger is checked: it applies to the trigger of the other app when it is a polling one.

Connect

Connect your Miro Insights account to Zapier

  1. 01

Open Apps and add a connection

In your Zapier account, open the Apps page and click + Add connection. You need a Miro Insights account, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch.

  2. 02

    Pick Miro Insights

In the dialog, type Miro Insights in the search box and select it, then click Add connection. A new tab then opens for the sign-in on the Miro Insights side.

  3. 03

    Sign in and grant access

Sign in to Miro Insights in that tab and grant Zapier access to the account. The connection is made once, and both actions reuse it in every Zap you build afterwards.

First Zap

Your first Zap: recorded calls filed as feedback

GoalEvery new call transcript that meets your condition becomes call feedback in Miro Insights, with its title and transcript.

  1. 01

    Start from your call recorder

Create a Zap and pick your call recording tool and its new-transcript event as the trigger. Connect the account, then test it: Zapier brings back the three most recent items, so you map a real one.

  2. 02

    Add the filter

Click the plus icon, choose Filter, then fill the three boxes: the field to look at, the rule, the value to compare with. A filter makes this a multi-step Zap, so it needs a paid plan.

  3. 03

    Add Create Feedback (Call)

Add the Miro Insights action Create Feedback (Call). Map the title and the transcript seen in the trigger test into Call Title and Call Transcript, and a link from the same test into Origin URL; the test shows whether it is accepted.

  4. 04

    Test before going further

Run each step once and read what came back before moving on. If the action complains, check first that all three required fields received a value.

  5. 05

    Publish

Publish the Zap to switch it on. From then on, each new transcript that passes the filter becomes feedback. Calls recorded before publishing are not picked up.

Actions

The Miro Insights actions

Miro Insights gives you 2 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Create Feedback

Action

In Zapier“Creates a new feedback item.”

Files a new piece of feedback in Miro Insights from whatever text the earlier steps carried: a survey answer, a support message, a note.

When to use it
when customer comments start life in another tool and should feed the synthesis without being pasted in by hand.
Watch out
Content is the one required field. It accepts HTML, but check at the test how formatted text actually arrives.
2

Create Feedback (Call)

Action

In Zapier“Creates a new feedback item for a call.”

The variant built for conversations: it files a call as feedback, with its title, its transcript and a link given in Origin URL.

When to use it
when your customer calls are recorded and transcribed elsewhere, and each one should reach Miro Insights as a call, not as loose text.
Watch out
Call Title, Call Transcript and Origin URL are all required; a source without a transcript cannot feed this action.
When it breaks

When a Miro Insights Zap breaks

Zapier attaches no help article to Miro Insights, and no limit of the app itself is documented. What trips a Miro Insights Zap are the general rules every Zap follows.

Three of them matter when Miro Insights sits at the end of the chain. Read them before you publish, and keep our Zapier troubleshooting guide at hand for the rest.

  • No catch-up on old feedback

A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. Answers or calls recorded before you published never reach Miro Insights; moving that backlog is a separate job.
  • A Zap that feeds its own trigger

A Zap that writes into the very place its own trigger watches can set itself off again and again, and burn through the task count fast. Keep the two apart.
  • Flood protection on big batches

When a trigger suddenly returns a huge batch, after a bulk import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold it back before it reaches Miro Insights.

FAQ

Miro Insights and Zapier: the questions people ask

01Is the Miro Insights Zapier integration free?
Yes. Miro Insights is not a premium app, so it runs on Zapier's free plan. That plan gives 100 tasks a month and an unlimited number of Zaps, each limited to two steps: one trigger and one action. A Zap where a new form entry runs Create Feedback fits inside it. Add a filter, a second action or a search and the Zap becomes multi-step, which needs a paid plan. No price is quoted here, because plan grids change too often to stay right.
02How many tasks does a Miro Insights Zap use?
One task per feedback item filed, as long as the action succeeds. The trigger from your other app costs nothing, and neither does Zapier checking for new data. A Zap that files each recorded call with Create Feedback (Call) costs one task per call. If the same Zap also posts a note to your team, each call costs two tasks and the Zap needs a paid plan. An action that fails is not counted against your plan.
03Does Miro Insights work in real time with Zapier?
Miro Insights has no trigger, so the timing of the Zap depends on the trigger of the other app. If that trigger is instant, the app reports the event to Zapier itself and the interval grid does not apply. If it is a polling trigger, Zapier checks at the interval of your plan: 15 minutes on Free, 2 on Professional, 1 on Team and Enterprise. The page of the other app on Zapier shows the free-plan interval on each polling trigger.
04What does it take to connect Miro Insights to Zapier?
An account on Miro Insights, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch. The connection is made once, from the Apps page of your Zapier account: click + Add connection, search for Miro Insights, pick it, click Add connection, sign in on the tab that opens, then grant access. Both actions then reuse it in every Zap, so a second source does not mean connecting again.
05What does Create Feedback (Call) require that Create Feedback does not?
Three required fields instead of one. Create Feedback only insists on Content, the text of the feedback, which accepts HTML. Create Feedback (Call) requires a Call Title, a Call Transcript and an Origin URL, all three. So the tool that starts the Zap has to provide a transcript and a link to put in Origin URL; if it only gives a recording or a summary, use plain Create Feedback instead. Check at the test that each field receives a value.
06What if the Miro Insights operation you need is not there?
Then this integration cannot do it by itself. The Miro Insights page on Zapier shows the current list of triggers and actions, and that is the list to check before you build. A Zap can still wrap either action with steps from other apps, a filter for instance, on a paid plan since that makes the Zap multi-step. Reading recommendations back, editing feedback or starting a Zap from Miro Insights is not covered by the two actions on offer.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for Miro Insights?
Choose by criteria, not by a winner. On Zapier, Miro Insights brings two ready-made actions, works from the free plan, and relies on the trigger of another app, whose type sets the timing. Billing counts tasks, one per feedback filed. Before choosing another tool, check whether it offers Miro Insights at all and with which operations: this page cannot vouch for that. Then compare how many steps your exact flow would need in each tool, and who will maintain it.
