What the PartySlate Pro Zapier integration actually does
It connects your PartySlate Pro account to Zapier so that each new inquiry can start work in your other tools. It works in one direction only: PartySlate Pro sends inquiries out, and nothing comes back in. For a venue or an event planner, that one direction is often the part that matters most.
Three results people usually build first. An inquiry nobody misses: New Inquiry starts the Zap and a message lands in the channel your sales team already reads. A pipeline that fills itself: the same trigger, followed by your CRM, opens a contact or a deal for each request. A log you can sort and share: each inquiry becomes a row in a spreadsheet, which is handy for comparing seasons or sources later on.
What Zapier does not do here. PartySlate Pro has no action and no search on Zapier, so a Zap cannot reply to an inquiry, change its status or book the event; that work stays inside PartySlate Pro. Every Zap therefore needs a second app to receive the inquiry. And nothing reaches back into the past: a Zap only sees inquiries that arrive after you switch it on, so publish it before the busy season.
If Zapier is new to you, the Zapier training is a good first stop, and Make vs Zapier helps if you are still weighing tools.
Zapier words, in plain English
Seven words come back across this page. Here is what each one means for you.
- Zap
- The automation you build: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time the trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. Here it is a new inquiry; once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it.
- Action
- What the Zap does after it starts. With PartySlate Pro, every action belongs to another app: a message, a row, a contact.
- Task
- What Zapier bills you for: one action that your Zap completes successfully. Your plan counts these and only these.
- Polling vs instant
- A polling trigger is checked by Zapier on a timer. An instant trigger is reported by the app itself, so nothing waits for a check.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap carry on only when what arrived meets your condition, and stops it quietly otherwise.
- Connection
- Your PartySlate Pro account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every Zap you build on it afterwards.
What it really costs in tasks
PartySlate Pro is not a premium app, so it runs on the free plan. The New Inquiry trigger never costs a task; only the actions of the other apps do, one per action that succeeds.
- New Inquiry triggerFree, never counted
- Successful action1 task each
- Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps only
- Filter or second actionMakes the Zap multi-step, paid plan
A failed action is not counted. The free plan gives you 100 tasks a month and two-step Zaps: one trigger, one action, which is enough to send each inquiry to one place. Sending it to two places, or adding a filter, makes the Zap multi-step and needs a paid plan. The interval grid below only concerns polling triggers; New Inquiry is instant. The number to watch is tasks: one inquiry sent to two apps uses two.
Connect your PartySlate Pro account
- 01
Open your connections
In your Zapier account, go to the Apps page and click + Add connection. All it takes is a PartySlate Pro account: the one where the inquiries you want to automate actually land.
- 02
Pick PartySlate Pro
Type the name of the app in the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. Zapier opens a separate tab where PartySlate Pro asks you to sign in as usual.
- 03
Sign in and allow access
Log in with the PartySlate Pro account of your company, then grant Zapier access. The connection appears on your Apps page, ready for every Zap that starts on a new inquiry.
Your first Zap: log and announce each inquiry
GoalEach new PartySlate Pro inquiry is added to a shared sheet, then announced to the sales team.
- 01
Build the trigger
Pick PartySlate Pro as the app and New Inquiry as the event, then your connection. With two actions this Zap is multi-step, so it needs a paid plan; keep one action to stay free.
- 02
Test on a real inquiry
Run the trigger test. Zapier brings back the three most recent inquiries of your account, so you map the next steps on a real request rather than on empty fields.
- 03
Add the sheet
From the plus icon, add the spreadsheet step and map each column to a value that came back from the test inquiry, so every row mirrors a real request.
- 04
Add the message
Add the chat step and build a short message from the same inquiry values, so the team sees who asked without opening PartySlate Pro.
- 05
Test, then publish
Use Configure & test on each step and read what came back. When the row and the message look right, click Publish to switch the Zap on.
PartySlate Pro trigger
1 event starts a Zap when something happens in PartySlate Pro, and one of them is instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.
New Inquiry
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new inquiry is received by your company.”
Starts your Zap each time your company receives a new inquiry in PartySlate Pro. The inquiry reaches the Zap, ready to be passed to the app that follows.
When a PartySlate Pro Zap breaks
Zapier attaches no help article to this app, and no app-specific limit is documented. With a single trigger, what goes wrong comes from how Zaps behave in general.
Three cases cover most surprises. If a run still fails, the Zapier troubleshooting page is the next stop.
Older inquiries never arrive
A Zap only reacts to what happens after you publish it. Inquiries received before that stay in PartySlate Pro; copying that history is a separate job.Nothing can be written back
PartySlate Pro has no action on Zapier. A Zap can spread an inquiry to other tools, but cannot answer it, update it or close it in PartySlate Pro.A burst of inquiries gets held back
When a trigger suddenly sends a huge batch, after an import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold those runs back instead of firing them all.
