Mitto Zapier integrationAutomate Mitto with Zapier.
The Mitto Zapier integration has 0 triggers and 2 actions, no search: it sends text messages, one at a time or to a list. Below: what each action needs, what it costs on the free plan, how to connect the account and how a Zap starts in another app.

What the Mitto Zapier integration actually does
Mitto sends SMS for businesses: alerts, reminders, invitations, marketing messages. The integration lets your other apps ask Mitto to send them through Zapier. Something happens elsewhere, an appointment, a form answer, a new row, and a text message leaves Mitto without anyone typing it.
Reminders that go out on their own. A new appointment in your booking tool starts the Zap, and Send SMS texts the person with the details you mapped. Nobody has to remember to send it, and the step only needs three things: a Sender, the Receiver and the Text.
One message, a whole list. Send Bulk SMS sends the same text to several numbers at once, which suits an alert that concerns a group rather than one person. Its Receivers field takes the list of numbers.
Two options to look at. Both actions carry two optional settings, Is test SMS and Is Flash SMS. Check at the test step what each one changes before you publish.
What Zapier does not do for Mitto: the app has no trigger, so nothing that happens inside Mitto can start a Zap. There is no search either, and no step reads a message back. Every Zap starts in another app, and Mitto only sends. To weigh Zapier against other tools, see our n8n vs Zapier comparison.
Zapier words in one minute
Seven words, and the rest of the page reads easily. For a guided start, see our Zapier training.
- Zap
- The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time the trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. Mitto has none, so the trigger always comes from another app.
- Action
- What the Zap does after it starts: here, the step that asks Mitto to send a text message on your behalf.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. The number on your plan counts those, nothing else.
- Polling vs instant
- A polling trigger is checked on a timer by Zapier. An instant trigger is reported by its app the moment the event happens.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap carry on only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
- Multi-step Zap
- Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action or a filter makes it one, and it then needs a paid plan.
What a Mitto Zap really costs
Zapier bills by task, and only for what works. The trigger in the other app costs nothing, and neither do Zapier's checks for new items.
- Free plan100 tasks a month, unlimited Zaps
- Steps per Zap on free2: one trigger, one action
- Premium appNo, Mitto works on the free plan
- Triggers in Mitto0: the Zap starts in another app
Each action that succeeds counts once: a Send SMS that goes through is one task. A failed action is not counted. A few actions take more than one task when they complete, so check the count on your plan after the first runs. Mitto is not a premium app, so it runs on the free plan, which stops at two steps per Zap; a filter or a second action needs a paid plan. The grid below concerns the other app's trigger when it is a polling one.
Connect Mitto to Zapier in three steps
- 01
Open Apps and add a connection
In your Zapier account, open the Apps page and click + Add connection. A dialog opens: type Mitto in its search box, then pick the app from the results.
- 02
Sign in and grant access
Click Add connection. Mitto opens in a new tab: sign in with the account that will send the messages, then grant Zapier access. You need an account on the app, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch.
- 03
Reuse the connection
The connection is your Mitto account linked to Zapier once. Both Mitto actions reuse it afterwards, in this Zap and in the next ones. On the first test, run the step once and read what comes back before going further.
Your first Zap: an SMS reminder for each new appointment
GoalEach new appointment that matches your rule sends the person a text reminder through Mitto, with no copy and paste.
- 01
Pick the trigger in your booking tool
Start a new Zap and choose your booking tool and its new-appointment event as the trigger. Test it: Zapier brings back the three most recent items, so you map on a real appointment.
- 02
Add the filter
Add a Filter step from the plus icon, then set the field to look at, the rule and the value. A filter makes the Zap multi-step, so this step needs a paid plan.
- 03
Add Send SMS
Add Mitto with Send SMS and the connection made earlier. Fill the Sender, map the phone number into Receiver and write the Text with the appointment details: all three are required.
- 04
Test the step
Run the test and read what came back before going further. Look at the Is test SMS option first, and check what it changes in the result.
- 05
Publish
Click Publish to switch the Zap on. Only appointments created after that moment send a text; the ones already booked stay out of it.
Mitto actions on Zapier
Mitto gives you 2 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.
Operations index
Send Bulk SMS
ActionIn Zapier“Enables you to send same SMS to several receivers.”
Sends the same text to several numbers in one step, instead of repeating Send SMS for each person on the list.
Send SMS
ActionIn Zapier“Enables you to send an SMS to a single recipient.”
Sends one text message to one number through Mitto, with the sender and the wording you set in the step.
When a Mitto Zap breaks
Zapier attaches no help article to Mitto, and no limit specific to the app is documented. The failures worth knowing are the general ones, and since every Zap here starts in another app, look at that trigger first when something goes wrong. With SMS, a mistake reaches real phones.
When a Zap stops behaving, see our Zapier troubleshooting guide.
The past is not replayed
A Zap reacts only to what happens after it is switched on. Appointments or rows that existed before send nothing, and reaching them is a separate job.A Zap that sets itself off
As a general precaution, a Zap that writes into the very place its own trigger watches can start itself again and again, and here each run is a text sent.A sudden flood gets held
When the trigger suddenly returns a huge batch, after a bulk import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold it back instead of sending a text for each. The same item counts once
When the trigger in the other app is a polling one, Zapier keeps track of what it has already seen, so the same item does not start the Zap twice.
