Overview

What the MLM Soft Zapier integration does for you

The MLM Soft Zapier integration links your MLM Soft account to Zapier so that events in MLM Soft can start work in other apps, and other apps can write into MLM Soft. MLM Soft is a cloud platform built for MLM and affiliate marketing businesses. The traffic goes both ways: two events out, two ways in.

Three results come out of the four operations. Accounts opened without retyping: a signup collected in another tool goes straight into MLM Soft through Create Account, with login, email, first name and last name filled from the earlier step. A shared list of new members: New Account sends each fresh account to a spreadsheet or another app, so the rest of the team sees it without logging in to MLM Soft. Orders recorded where the plan is calculated: Create Order pushes an order, usually a purchase document, into the MLM Soft compensation plan engine.

There is also Account Updated, which fires when an account's email changes, handy to keep another tool's copy of that address current.

What Zapier does not do here: there is no search, so a Zap cannot look up an existing MLM Soft account or order before acting. There is no action to change or delete an account either; you can create, not edit.

Vocabulary

Zapier in one minute

A handful of Zapier words come back on every page. Here they are once, in plain terms.

Zap
The automation you build: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time the trigger event happens.
Trigger
The event in an app that starts the Zap, such as a new MLM Soft account. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it.
Action
What the Zap does once started: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you, like creating an order.
Task
The unit Zapier bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. Your plan's allowance is a count of those.
Instant vs polling
An instant trigger is reported by the app the moment it happens. A polling one is checked by Zapier on a timer instead.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap go on only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
Multi-step Zap
Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action or a filter makes it one, and then it needs a paid plan.
Cost

What MLM Soft Zaps really cost

MLM Soft is not one of the apps Zapier keeps for paid plans, so it works on the free plan.

  • TriggerNever counted
  • Create Account or Create Order1 task each time it works
  • Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps
  • Paid plan onlySecond action, filter

The trigger never costs a task. Each action that goes through counts as one task, and an action that fails is not counted. Create Account and Create Order are actions, so each successful one is a task. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, each capped at two steps: one trigger, one action. A second action or a filter makes it a multi-step Zap that needs a paid plan. The grid below is how often Zapier checks polling triggers; it does not apply to MLM Soft, whose two triggers are both instant.

Connect

Connect MLM Soft to Zapier in three steps

  1. 01

    Open the Apps page

In your Zapier account, open Apps and click + Add connection. A connection is your MLM Soft account linked once, then reused by every Zap step that touches MLM Soft.

  2. 02

    Find MLM Soft

Type MLM Soft in the search box of the dialog, pick it from the results, then click Add connection. A new tab opens so you can sign in to your MLM Soft account.

  3. 03

    Sign in and grant access

Log in to MLM Soft in that tab and grant Zapier access. You need an account on MLM Soft, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch.

First Zap

Your first MLM Soft Zap: a members log with an alert

GoalEach new MLM Soft account is added as a row to a shared spreadsheet, then an email tells the team who just joined.

  1. 01

    Create the Zap

Start a new Zap, choose MLM Soft as the app and New Account as the event, then select your MLM Soft connection. The trigger is instant, so a lightning bolt shows in the editor.

  2. 02

    Test the trigger

Run the test: Zapier brings back the three most recent items of the connected account. Pick a real one and read what MLM Soft sends before mapping anything.

  3. 03

    Add the spreadsheet row

Add the action that writes a row and map the account details from the test into the columns. What each account carries is something to check at the test, not to guess.

  4. 04

    Add the team email

Add the email action after it. Two actions make this a multi-step Zap, so it needs a paid plan, and each new account uses two tasks when both steps work.

  5. 05

    Test, then publish

Run each step once and read what came back before going further. When the row and the email look right, click Publish to switch the Zap on.

Triggers

MLM Soft triggers

2 events start a Zap when something happens in MLM Soft, and 2 of them are instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.

1

Account Updated

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when email updated.”

When the email address on an MLM Soft account changes, this trigger passes the account to your Zap, so another tool can pick up the new address instead of keeping the old one.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan
When to use it
your mailing list or support desk keeps its own copy of member emails and you want it corrected whenever MLM Soft changes one.
Watch out
MLM Soft describes this trigger as firing on an email update, so check at the test step what else an update sends before relying on it.
2

New Account

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a new account is created.”

Every account created in MLM Soft is handed to the Zap through this trigger, which makes it the natural starting point for anything that should follow a new member.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan
When to use it
you want each new account logged in a shared spreadsheet, or announced to the team, without anyone exporting a list from MLM Soft.
Watch out
accounts that existed before you published the Zap are never sent, so plan the backlog as a separate job.
Actions

MLM Soft actions

MLM Soft gives you 2 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Create Account

Action

In Zapier“Create account in mlmsoft”

Opens a new account in MLM Soft from data another app already holds, so nobody has to type the same person twice.

When to use it
signups arrive in a form or another tool and should land in MLM Soft without manual entry.
Watch out
Login, Email, Firstname and Lastname are all required, and Login is usually the email.
2

Create Order

Action

In Zapier“Create order (usually Purchase document) in compensation plan engine”

Sends an order into the MLM Soft compensation plan engine, usually as a purchase document, so it counts where your plan is calculated.

When to use it
sales are recorded in another tool and MLM Soft needs to see them too.
Watch out
run the test step and read what MLM Soft returns before you publish.
When it breaks

When an MLM Soft Zap breaks

Zapier links no help article to MLM Soft, so the limits below are the ones every Zap shares.

Rule them out one by one before you suspect MLM Soft itself. When something looks off, see our Zapier troubleshooting guide.

  • The past is not replayed

A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. Accounts and orders already in MLM Soft are not picked up; moving them is a separate job.
  • A sudden batch can be held back

If a trigger suddenly returns a huge batch, after a bulk import or a migration for instance, Zapier's flood protection can hold it back.
  • Loops eat tasks

As a general precaution, a Zap that writes into the very place its own trigger watches can set itself off again and again and burn through tasks fast.

FAQ

MLM Soft Zapier integration: common questions

01Is the MLM Soft Zapier integration free?
Yes. MLM Soft is not one of the apps Zapier keeps for paid plans, so it works on the free plan. That plan gives you 100 tasks a month and as many Zaps as you want, each limited to two steps: one trigger and one action. Logging every new account in a spreadsheet fits. Logging it and then emailing the team does not, because two actions make a multi-step Zap, and that needs a paid plan.
02How many tasks does an MLM Soft Zap use?
One task per action that goes through, and nothing for the trigger. If New Account starts a Zap that writes one spreadsheet row, each new member costs one task. If the same Zap then emails the team, that is two tasks when both work. An action that fails is not counted against your plan. Keep in mind that a few apps and a few actions take more than one task when they complete, so check the count after your first runs.
03Do MLM Soft triggers work in real time?
Yes. Both MLM Soft triggers, New Account and Account Updated, are instant: the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan. The polling interval of your plan, 15 minutes on the free one, does not apply to them. In the editor, a Zap built on an instant trigger shows a lightning bolt, which is a quick way to confirm it. This type is set by the app and cannot be changed from the editor.
04What does it take to connect MLM Soft to Zapier?
An account on MLM Soft, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch. The steps are short: open Apps in Zapier, click + Add connection, search for MLM Soft and pick it, click Add connection, sign in to MLM Soft in the tab that opens, then grant Zapier access. The connection is then reused by every Zap step that works with MLM Soft, so you only do this once.
05Why does Create Account fail on the first test?
Check its four required fields first. Create Account needs a Login, an Email, a Firstname and a Lastname, and Login is usually the email address. If the step before it does not carry one of those values, the account cannot be created. Look at the trigger's test result: if the earlier app does not hold one of those four values, MLM Soft has nothing to put in that box, and you need to collect it upstream before the account can go through. A failed action does not cost a task, but the account is not created either.
06What if the MLM Soft operation you need is missing?
Then Zapier cannot do it with MLM Soft today. MLM Soft's page on Zapier shows the current list: two triggers, New Account and Account Updated, and two actions, Create Account and Create Order, with no search. So a Zap cannot edit or delete an account, and cannot look one up before acting. If your process depends on one of those, check whether another automation tool offers an MLM Soft connection with that operation before you build around it.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for MLM Soft?
Decide by criteria, not by a ranking. Coverage: Zapier offers the two triggers and two actions listed on this page, ready to use; check whether Make or n8n has an MLM Soft connection at all, and with which operations. Speed: on Zapier both triggers are instant, so your plan's polling interval does not apply. Steps: a two-step Zap fits Zapier's free plan, while a Zap with a filter or a second action needs a paid plan. Weigh those three against your own process.
