MOBIDI Zapier integrationAutomate MOBIDI with Zapier.
The MOBIDI Zapier integration gives you 1 trigger, checked on a timer, and 1 action, with no search step. It runs on the free plan. Below: what both operations do for a field team, what they cost in tasks, and the limits to know first.

What the MOBIDI Zapier integration actually does
Zapier links MOBIDI, the app mobile teams use to collect data in the field, to the rest of your tools. A Zap (the automation you build on Zapier) starts on something that happens in one app and writes the result in another, so nobody retypes what the field team already captured.
With two operations, the integration does a few things well. First, a running table of field records: Create Entry picks up each new MOBIDI record and a spreadsheet step writes it as a row the office can sort. Second, a heads-up when something is recorded: the same trigger can feed an email or a chat message to the person who handles the follow-up. Third, records pushed into MOBIDI from elsewhere: Import Entry creates a record in the layer you choose, so data born in another tool shows up for the mobile team.
Now what Zapier does not do for MOBIDI. There is no search step, so a Zap cannot look up an existing record. There is no update or delete action: Import Entry only creates. And the single trigger watches new records only; a record that changes later does not start anything.
The trigger also works by polling, so a new record waits for Zapier's next check. If that matters to you, see our n8n vs Zapier and Make vs Zapier comparisons before you pick a tool.
Zapier vocabulary in one minute
Eight words come back all through this page. Here they are in plain English.
- Zap
- The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time the trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is on, Zapier watches for that event and nothing else.
- Action
- What the Zap does after it starts: the step that writes, sends or creates something for you in an app.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills. One task is one action your Zap completes successfully, and your plan is a count of those.
- Polling trigger
- A trigger Zapier checks on a timer: it asks the app for new items at a fixed interval and keeps only what it has not seen.
- Instant trigger
- A trigger the app reports itself, the moment the event happens. MOBIDI's trigger is not one of these.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap carry on only when the incoming data meets your condition, and stops it otherwise.
- Multi-step Zap
- Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A filter or a second action makes one, and it then needs a paid plan.
What MOBIDI on Zapier really costs
MOBIDI is not a premium app (an app Zapier keeps for paid plans and free trials), so it works on the free plan. You pay in tasks, and only actions produce them.
- Free plan100 tasks a month
- Zaps on the free planUnlimited, two steps each
- Trigger and checksNever billed
- Failed actionNot counted
The trigger never costs a task, and Zapier checking MOBIDI for new records costs nothing either, however often it looks. Each action that succeeds costs one task; one that fails is not counted. The free plan gives you 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps of two steps each. Your plan also sets how often Zapier checks the Create Entry trigger, as the grid shows. On paid plans that interval can be changed, and a check can be run by hand from the editor.
Connect MOBIDI to Zapier in three steps
- 01
Open the Apps page
In your Zapier account, open Apps and click + Add connection. A connection is your MOBIDI account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every MOBIDI step in your Zaps.
- 02
Pick MOBIDI
Search MOBIDI in the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. You need a MOBIDI account, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch.
- 03
Sign in and grant access
A tab opens on MOBIDI. Sign in with the account your Zaps should act for, then grant Zapier access to it. That account then shows up in every MOBIDI step of the editor.
Your first Zap: log every MOBIDI record in a spreadsheet
GoalEach new record your field team saves in MOBIDI becomes one row in the spreadsheet the office works from.
- 01
Create the Zap
From your Zapier dashboard, start a new Zap. Pick MOBIDI as the app that starts it, Create Entry as the event, then the MOBIDI connection you added.
- 02
Choose the layer
Fill the required Layer field with the layer your team records into. The Zap only watches that layer, so pick the one whose records the office needs.
- 03
Test the trigger
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent records of the connected account, so you map the next step on a real record rather than on an empty example.
- 04
Add and test the row
Add your spreadsheet app with its new-row event, map each column to a value from the record, then run the test once and read what came back in the sheet.
- 05
Publish
Click Publish to switch the Zap on. It has two steps, so it fits the free plan; new records then arrive at the pace of your plan's check interval.
MOBIDI trigger
1 event starts a Zap when something happens in MOBIDI. Zapier checks for them at the interval your plan allows.
Create Entry
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new MOBIDI record is created.”
Picks up each new record saved in MOBIDI, in the layer you choose, and passes it to the steps that follow. It is the way out for everything your team captures in the field.
MOBIDI action
MOBIDI gives you 1 action. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.
Operations index
Import Entry
ActionIn Zapier“Creates a MOBIDI record.”
Writes a new record into MOBIDI from data your trigger brings in. You pick the target layer in the required Layer field, then map the values the step shows at test.
When a MOBIDI Zap breaks
Zapier ties no help article to MOBIDI, so the limits below are the general ones that apply to any Zap built on it.
These cases depend on what the Zap expects, not on MOBIDI itself. Four are worth knowing before you publish. For anything else, see our Zapier troubleshooting guide.
Old records never come through
A Zap reacts only to what happens after you switch it on. Records already in MOBIDI are not picked up; moving that backlog is a separate job.A Zap that keeps restarting
A Zap that writes into the very place its own trigger watches can set itself off again and again, and burns through the task count fast. Check at test.A bulk import held back
When a trigger suddenly returns a huge batch, after a bulk import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold those items back. The same record, one run
Zapier keeps track of what it has already seen on a polling trigger, so the same record does not start the Zap twice.
