What the Mobilize US Zapier integration does
It links Mobilize US, a tool for texting your contacts, running surveys and aiming messages at groups, to the rest of your apps. Each automation, called a Zap, starts on an event in another app and then acts in Mobilize US: it creates a contact or a group, puts contacts into a group, or creates a text message.
Text contacts straight from a sign-up form. Create Contact turns each entry into a Mobilize US contact from a cell phone number, so the list you text grows on its own. Cell Phone is the only required field, with at least 10 characters.
A group ready for each campaign. Create Group opens a new contact group from a name typed elsewhere, and Add Contacts to Group fills it with contacts that already exist. Group Name is required, with at least 2 characters.
A text that leaves when something happens. Create a New Message prepares a text of up to 1000 characters, with its keyword, and asks you through Send Message Immediately? whether it should go out right away.
What Zapier does not do here. Mobilize US has no trigger and no search on Zapier: nothing that happens in the app, survey answers included, can start a Zap, and there is no way to look up a contact before acting. Surveys do not appear among the operations at all. To weigh other tools, see our n8n vs Zapier guide.
Zapier in one minute
Seven words you will meet in the editor, in plain terms.
- Zap
- The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time that trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event that starts the Zap; once it is on, Zapier waits for it. Mobilize US has none, so yours comes from another app.
- Action
- What the Zap does once started: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you, like creating a contact.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. The number on your plan counts those and nothing else.
- Polling vs instant trigger
- A polling trigger is checked on a timer for new items. An instant trigger is reported by its own app the moment the event happens.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap carry on only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
- Multi-step Zap
- Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action or a filter makes one, and it then needs a paid plan.
What a Mobilize US Zap really costs
Zapier bills tasks, and with Mobilize US only the actions that go through decide the bill. The trigger sits in another app and never costs a task.
- Mobilize US on the free planYes, not reserved for paid plans
- Free plan tasks100 per month
- Free plan Zap size2 steps: one trigger, one action
- Second action or filterMulti-step Zap, paid plan
Each Mobilize US action that succeeds is one task; one that fails is not counted. Checking for new data is free, however often Zapier looks. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, each capped at two steps. Create Contact followed by Add Contacts to Group is two actions, so a multi-step Zap on a paid plan. A few apps and actions take more than one task. The interval grid below applies to the polling trigger of the app that starts your Zap, since Mobilize US has no trigger to check. To compare plans, see our Zapier review.
Connect Mobilize US to Zapier
- 01
Open Apps and add a connection
In your Zapier account, open the Apps page and click + Add connection. A dialog opens with a search box where you find any app Zapier supports by its name.
- 02
Pick Mobilize US and confirm
Type Mobilize US, select it in the results, then click Add connection. A new tab opens, where you sign in to Mobilize US with the account you text from.
- 03
Grant access
Allow Zapier to access the account. You need an account on Mobilize US, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch. Every Mobilize US step then reuses this connection.
Your first Zap: from sign-up form to Mobilize US contact
GoalCreate a Mobilize US contact from the cell phone number in each new form entry, in a two-step Zap that fits the free plan.
- 01
Create the Zap and set the trigger
Create a Zap and pick your form tool as the trigger app, with its new-entry event. Mobilize US has no trigger, so the start always comes from another app like this one.
- 02
Test the trigger
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent entries from the connected account, so you map from a real sign-up that carries a phone number.
- 03
Add Create Contact
Choose Mobilize US, then Create Contact, and map Cell Phone from the form. The number needs at least 10 characters, so check at test that the one arriving from your form reaches that length.
- 04
Test, then publish
Test each Mobilize US step and read what came back before going further. When it looks right, click Publish to switch the Zap on.
The 4 Mobilize US actions
Mobilize US gives you 4 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

When a Mobilize US Zap breaks
Zapier attaches no help article to Mobilize US, so the cases below are the general limits every Zap runs into.
For a symptom you do not find here, see our Zapier troubleshooting guide.
No backlog pickup
A Zap only reacts to what happens after you switch it on. Sign-ups that existed before never become contacts; moving them is a separate job.A Zap that sets itself off
A Zap that writes into the place its own trigger watches can start itself again and again and burn through tasks. Keep the trigger's source apart from where it writes.Bulk batches held back
When a trigger suddenly returns a huge batch, after a bulk import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold it back.A filter that never passes
Filter rules are typed: a text rule only works on text and a number rule only on numbers. Picking the wrong one is why a filter never lets anything through.
