Crustdata Zapier integrationAutomate Crustdata with Zapier.
The Crustdata Zapier integration gives you 0 triggers, 1 action and 0 searches. One move only: hand Crustdata a website domain and get firmographic data back. Another app has to start the Zap, which is the part most people miss.

What the Crustdata Zapier integration actually does
It lets Zapier pass a company's website domain to Crustdata and receive firmographic data in return, inside an automated sequence. Crustdata is a data API built for enriching company and person records. On Zapier, the app exposes exactly one step, Enrich Company, and nothing else.
Three results you can build around that single step. First, a lead record that fills itself in: a new company lands in your CRM, its domain goes to Enrich Company, and the data that comes back gets written next to the record. Second, a research sheet for sales: every domain a rep logs is enriched and pushed as a row, so nobody pastes data by hand. Third, a qualification gate: the enriched data feeds a filter, and only the accounts that match your rule move on to the next step.
Now the honest part. Zapier does not let Crustdata start anything. There is no trigger, so Crustdata can't tell Zapier that a company changed or that a person switched jobs, even though the product itself tracks that kind of movement. There is no search step either, and no person enrichment on the Zapier side. If your plan depends on any of those, Zapier is the wrong door for it (our Zapier alternatives roundup is the place to look around).

Zapier vocabulary in one minute
Eight words come back on every line of this page. Here they are in plain English.
- Zap
- The automation you build on Zapier: one starting event, then one or more steps that run each time that event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. Crustdata has none, so a CRM, a form or a sheet plays that role.
- Action
- What the Zap does once it has started. Here, Enrich Company is the action: it sends a domain and receives data.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills you for. One action that completes successfully equals one task on your monthly count.
- Polling vs instant
- Polling: Zapier checks the starting app on a timer. Instant: that app warns Zapier the moment the event happens.
- Filter
- A gate you drop after Enrich Company: the run carries on only if a returned value passes your rule, otherwise it ends there without touching the next app.
- Connection
- Your Crustdata account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every Zap step that calls Crustdata.
- Multi-step Zap
- Anything beyond one trigger plus one action. Adding a filter or a second action makes it one, and that needs a paid plan.
What Crustdata on Zapier really costs
Zapier bills tasks, not checks. The trigger in the other app is free, and each Enrich Company run that goes through counts as one task.
- Trigger check0 tasks
- Successful Enrich Company1 task
- Failed actionNot counted
- Free plan100 tasks a month, 2-step Zaps
- Premium appNo
A run that fails is not counted. Crustdata is not a premium app, so it works on the free plan: 100 tasks a month and Zaps of two steps only. That covers a trigger plus Enrich Company, full stop. Add a filter or a step that writes the result somewhere and you need a paid plan. The interval below only matters if your trigger polls. If it is instant, the grid does not apply and the enrichment runs as soon as the event happens, whatever your plan.
Connect Crustdata to Zapier in three steps
- 01
Open your Apps page
In your Zapier account, go to Apps and click + Add connection. You need an existing Crustdata account before you start, since Zapier links an account, it doesn't create one.
- 02
Pick Crustdata
Type Crustdata in the dialog that appears, select it, then click Add connection. From there, Crustdata asks you to sign in to the account you want Zapier to use.
- 03
Sign in and grant access
Log in to Crustdata in that tab and allow Zapier to use the account. The connection then shows up in your list, ready for any Zap that needs an Enrich Company step.
Your first Zap: enrich every new HubSpot company
GoalEach new company in HubSpot gets enriched by Crustdata, and the accounts you care about land in a Google Sheets tracker.
- 01
Build the start
Create a Zap and choose HubSpot with the New Company event as the trigger. Connect your account, then test: Zapier pulls the three most recent companies so you can map from a real one.
- 02
Add Enrich Company
Add Crustdata as the next step and pick Enrich Company. Map the website field from HubSpot into Company Domain, the only required field of this action.
- 03
Test the enrichment
Run the step once and read what Crustdata sends back. Spot the value that tells a good account from a poor one, because the filter will look at it next.
- 04
Set the filter
Add a Filter step: pick that value, the rule, and what to compare it with. Use a number rule for a number and a text rule for text, or the filter never passes.
- 05
Write the row and publish
Finish with Google Sheets, map the enriched data into columns, test, then click Publish. With a filter and two actions, this Zap needs a paid plan.
The Crustdata action on Zapier
Crustdata gives you 1 action. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

Enrich Company
ActionIn Zapier“Enriches a company domain with firmographic data”
You give it a company's website domain, such as acme.com, and Crustdata answers with firmographic data on that company. Every later step of the Zap can then reuse those values.
When the Crustdata Zap breaks
Zapier attaches no help article to Crustdata, so the known failure points come from how Zapier itself behaves.
Most surprises show up in the first week, usually on the trigger side rather than in Crustdata. Our Zapier troubleshooting page covers the fixes in more depth.
Old companies are never enriched
A Zap only reacts to what happens after you switch it on. The companies already in your CRM stay as they are; enriching that backlog is a separate job.The Zap keeps setting itself off
If the last step creates a company in the same place your trigger watches, each new record starts the Zap again and burns tasks fast.A bulk import goes quiet
Import thousands of companies at once and the trigger may return a huge batch. Zapier's flood protection can hold that batch back instead of running it.The same company won't run twice
On a polling trigger, Zapier remembers what it has already seen, so a company that already went through will not start the Zap, or the enrichment, a second time.
