Mobiniti SMS Zapier integrationAutomate Mobiniti SMS with Zapier.
The Mobiniti SMS Zapier integration gives you 2 triggers, 3 actions and 0 searches. Both triggers are instant, it works on the free plan, and every action expects a 10 digit US mobile number, which is the rule to check before your first test.

What the Mobiniti SMS Zapier integration does for you
It links your Mobiniti SMS account to Zapier, the tool that runs automations between apps. A new or updated contact in Mobiniti SMS can start a chain of steps in other tools, and any of those tools can push a contact into Mobiniti SMS or have it send a text or an MMS for you.
A welcome text that sends itself. New Contact starts the Zap, Send SMS texts the person you map into Phone Number. Nobody has to copy the number from one screen to another, and the message stays inside the 160 characters the action allows.
A contact list fed by your other tools. Something happens in another app, and Create Contact adds the person to Mobiniti SMS with their phone number. The only hard requirement is that number: a 10 digit US mobile number.
A longer message for the people who changed something. Update Contact starts the Zap when a contact is edited, and Send MMS sends a message of up to 1500 characters from a number you choose in the From field.
What Zapier does not do here: there is no search step, so a Zap cannot look up an existing Mobiniti SMS contact before acting. The two triggers are about contacts only, nothing starts a Zap from the content of a message. If you are weighing other tools for the same job, see our n8n vs Zapier and Make vs Zapier comparisons.
Zapier words in one minute
Eight words come back on every Zapier screen. Here they are, in plain terms, before you build anything.
- Zap
- The automation you build: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time the trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for that event and nothing else.
- Action
- What the Zap does after it starts: the step that writes, sends or moves something in an app on your behalf.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills: one action that your Zap completes successfully. The number on your plan counts these.
- Instant trigger
- A trigger the app reports itself: it calls Zapier the moment the event happens, so nothing waits for a check.
- Polling trigger
- A trigger Zapier checks on a timer, asking the app for new items at a fixed interval and keeping only unseen ones.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap continue only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
- Multi-step Zap
- Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action or a filter makes one, and it needs a paid plan.
What a Mobiniti SMS Zap really costs
Mobiniti SMS is not a premium app on Zapier, so it is open on the free plan. What you pay for is tasks, and only actions produce them.
- Premium appNo, works on the free plan
- Tasks on the free plan100 per month
- Steps per Zap on the free plan2 (one trigger, one action)
- Cost of a trigger0 tasks
New Contact and Update Contact never cost a task. Each Create Contact, Send SMS or Send MMS that goes through counts as one; one that fails is not counted. A Zap with two actions spends two tasks per run. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, each limited to two steps: one trigger, one action. Add a filter or a second action and the Zap becomes multi-step, which needs a paid plan. The interval grid below covers polling triggers only: it does not apply to the two instant triggers of this app.
Connect Mobiniti SMS to Zapier
- 01
Open your connections
In Zapier, go to the Apps page of your account and click + Add connection. A connection is your Mobiniti SMS account linked once, then reused by every step that needs it.
- 02
Pick Mobiniti SMS
Type Mobiniti SMS in the search box of the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. You need an account on the app, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch.
- 03
Sign in and grant access
A new tab opens on Mobiniti SMS. Sign in there, then grant Zapier access to the account. From then on, any Zap step that uses Mobiniti SMS can pick this connection from its account menu.
Your first Zap: a welcome SMS for selected new contacts
GoalSend a short text to new Mobiniti SMS contacts, but only to the ones that meet a condition you choose.
- 01
Build the trigger
Create a Zap, pick Mobiniti SMS as the app and New Contact as the event, then choose the connection you made earlier. This trigger is instant, so there is no interval to set.
- 02
Test the trigger
Run the trigger test. Zapier brings back the three most recent contacts of the connected account, so you can map the next steps on a real one rather than on a blank.
- 03
Add the filter
From the plus icon, add Filter and fill its three boxes: the field to look at, the rule, the value to compare with. A filter makes the Zap multi-step, so it needs a paid plan.
- 04
Add Send SMS
Add Mobiniti SMS again, event Send SMS. Map the contact's number into Phone Number and write the Message, keeping it under 160 characters. Test the step and read what came back.
- 05
Publish
Click Publish to switch the Zap on. From now on, each new contact that passes the filter gets the text, and each text that goes through counts as one task.
Mobiniti SMS triggers
2 events start a Zap when something happens in Mobiniti SMS, and 2 of them are instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.
New Contact
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new contact is created.”
Starts your Zap each time a contact is added to your Mobiniti SMS account, and hands the next steps that new contact to work with.
Update Contact
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a contact is updated.”
Fires when an existing contact is edited in Mobiniti SMS, so a change made in the app can be carried to the other tools that keep a copy of that person.
Mobiniti SMS actions
Mobiniti SMS gives you 3 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.
Operations index
Create Contact
ActionIn Zapier“Create a new contact.”
Adds a person to your Mobiniti SMS account from data that arrives in an earlier step, so your SMS list grows without anyone typing.
Send MMS
ActionIn Zapier“Sends an MMS notification to a mobile phone.”
Sends a multimedia message to a mobile phone, with room for a longer text than the SMS action.
Send SMS
ActionIn Zapier“Sends an SMS notification to a mobile phone.”
Writes a text message to a mobile phone from inside the Zap, with the number and the wording mapped from the steps before it.
When a Mobiniti SMS Zap breaks
Zapier attaches no help article to Mobiniti SMS, and no rate limit is published for it. What breaks is what breaks on any Zap, plus the field rules of the actions.
Four cases cover most of the surprises on this app. If a Zap still misbehaves after these, see our Zapier troubleshooting guide.
Old contacts are never picked up
A Zap reacts only to what happens after it is switched on. Contacts that already existed stay where they are; moving that backlog is a separate job.The Zap keeps restarting itself
A Zap that writes into the very place its own trigger watches can set itself off again and again, and burns through the task count fast.A big import gets held back
When a trigger suddenly returns a huge batch, after a bulk import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold those runs back. The text is too long for the action
Send SMS takes up to 160 characters in Message, Send MMS up to 1500. Mapped text from another tool can go past that; check the length at test.
