Morph Zapier integrationAutomate Morph with Zapier.

The Morph Zapier integration gives you 3 triggers and 3 actions, and no search. All three triggers are instant, Morph runs on the free plan, and every step asks which team, database and table it works on. Here is what each operation does and where it trips.

Overview

What the Morph Zapier integration actually does

Morph works like a spreadsheet with the capacity of a database, with AI built in. The integration links it to Zapier, so a Zap (the automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time it fires) can react to changes in a Morph table, or write records into one from any other tool.

Three results you can build. First, a heads-up for every new row: New Record starts a Zap the moment someone adds a record, and your email or chat tool tells the right person. Second, a table fed by your other tools: Create Record turns a form answer or a new contact elsewhere into a row in Morph. Third, a clean-up that follows the original: Delete Record, used as an action, removes the matching row in Morph when it disappears from the tool that owns it.

What Zapier does not do here matters as much. There is no search step, so a Zap cannot look a record up before acting on it; Update Record finds its target through its own filter field instead, matching on one exact value. And the triggers cover three events only: a record created, changed or deleted. Nothing is read from tables you have not named in the step, and a Zap never brings back records that existed before you switched it on.

Vocabulary

Zapier vocabulary in one minute

Seven words carry this page. Each is explained once, here, then used as is.

Zap
The automation itself: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time the trigger event happens.
Trigger
The event in an app that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for that event and nothing else.
Action
What the Zap does once it has started: the step that writes, sends or removes something for you in an app.
Task
The unit Zapier bills. One task is one action your Zap completes successfully; your plan counts those.
Instant trigger
A trigger the app reports itself: Morph calls Zapier when the event happens, so nothing waits for a scheduled check.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap go on only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
Multi-step Zap
Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action or a filter makes one, and it then needs a paid plan.
Cost

What it really costs

Morph is not a premium app, so it works from the free plan. You pay in tasks, and only successful actions count.

  • Free plan100 tasks a month, unlimited two-step Zaps
  • TriggerNever billed
  • Successful action1 task each
  • Premium appNo

The trigger never costs a task. Each action that succeeds counts once: a Zap that creates a record and then posts a message uses two tasks per run, and an action that fails is not counted. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps of two steps each; a filter or a second action takes you to a paid plan. Zapier publishes the polling grid below for its plans, but it does not apply to Morph's three triggers, which are all instant.

Connect

Connect Morph to Zapier in three steps

  1. 01

    Open your connections

In Zapier, open the Apps page and click + Add connection. A connection is your Morph account linked once, then reused by every step that touches Morph.

  2. 02

    Find Morph

Search for Morph in the dialog, pick it, and click Add connection. You need an account on Morph, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch.

  3. 03

    Sign in and grant access

A tab opens on Morph. Sign in with the account your Zaps should act as and grant Zapier access to it. The connection is then ready for your first trigger or action.

First Zap

Your first Zap: an email when a qualifying record lands

GoalWhen a record is added to a Morph table and meets your condition, an email goes out to the person who should act on it.

  1. 01

    Pick the Morph trigger

Build a new Zap, choose Morph and the event New Record, then select your connection. Fill Team ID, Database ID and Table Slug for the table to watch.

  2. 02

    Test the trigger

Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent records of the connected account, so pick a real one to map the next steps from.

  3. 03

    Add the filter

Add a Filter step from the plus icon and set the field, the rule and the value. Pick a text rule for text and a number rule for numbers. A filter needs a paid plan.

  4. 04

    Add the email action

Choose your email tool and its send action. Map the subject and the body to values from the Morph record, so each email says which row it is about.

  5. 05

    Test, then publish

Test the email step and read what came back. If it looks right, publish the Zap: from then on, every new record that passes the filter sends one email.

Triggers

The 3 Morph triggers

3 events start a Zap when something happens in Morph, and 3 of them are instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.

1

Delete Record

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a record is deleted.”

Starts your Zap when a record is removed from the Morph table you point it at. It is how another tool learns that a row is gone, instead of keeping a stale copy forever.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan
When to use it
a mailing list or a shared sheet mirrors a Morph table, and deleted rows should disappear there too.
Watch out
Team ID, Database ID and Table Slug are all required: the trigger watches the one table they point to.
2

New Record

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a new record is created.”

Fires each time a fresh record is created in the chosen table, and hands that record to the steps that follow.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan
When to use it
a new row should alert someone, open a task in a project tool, or be copied to a report.
Watch out
records that existed before the Zap was switched on are never picked up, so move the backlog another way if you need it.
3

Update Record

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when a record is updated.”

Runs your Zap when an existing record in the table changes, so whatever depends on that row can catch up with the new values.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan
When to use it
a status column in Morph drives work elsewhere, and a change of status should move a card or notify an owner.
Watch out
as a general precaution, a Zap that writes where its own trigger watches can set itself off again; check it at the test.
Actions

The 3 Morph actions

Morph gives you 3 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Create Record

Action

In Zapier“Create a new record.”

Adds a new row to a Morph table, filled with the values you map from earlier steps.

When to use it
form answers, new contacts or orders from another tool should land in Morph without copy and paste.
Watch out
this action asks for Team Slug where the others ask for Team ID, so check which value the field expects.
2

Delete Record

Action

In Zapier“Delete a record.”

Removes a record from a Morph table as part of a Zap.

When to use it
an item is cancelled or archived in the tool that owns it, and the copy in Morph should go too.
Watch out
the same label exists as a trigger; in the editor make sure you picked the action, and test it on a record you can afford to lose.
3

Update Record

Action

In Zapier“Update a record.”

Changes the values of an existing record, picked through the Update Target Filter field.

When to use it
a deal, a ticket or a contact changes in its own tool and the Morph row should follow.
Watch out
Update Target Filter takes the system name of a field and only matches on equal values, so an almost-identical value finds nothing.
When it breaks

When a Morph Zap breaks

Zapier attaches no help article to Morph, so the known failure points are the general ones of any Zap.

Read these three cases before you publish. If a Zap still stops, the next stop is our Zapier troubleshooting page.

  • Nothing from before the Zap

A Zap only reacts to what happens after you switch it on. Records already in Morph are not picked up; moving that backlog is a separate job.
  • A Zap that restarts itself

A Zap that writes into the very table its trigger watches can set itself off again and again, and burn through your task count fast.
  • A large batch held back

After a bulk import or a migration, a trigger can suddenly send a huge batch. Zapier's flood protection can hold it back.

FAQ

Morph Zapier integration: questions

01Is the Morph Zapier integration free?
Yes, for two-step Zaps. Morph is not a premium app, so it runs on Zapier's free plan, which gives 100 tasks a month and an unlimited number of Zaps. Each of those Zaps is limited to one trigger and one action. A Zap that creates a record in Morph and then posts in your chat has two actions, so it becomes multi-step and needs a paid plan. The same goes for any Zap with a filter.
02How many tasks does a Morph Zap use?
One task per action that succeeds. The trigger is free, whether a record is created, changed or deleted. A Zap that sends one email per new record uses one task per record; add a second action and it uses two. An action that fails is not counted against your plan. So the volume to estimate is the number of records that change in the watched table, multiplied by the number of actions in the Zap.
03Does Morph trigger Zaps in real time?
Yes. All three Morph triggers are instant: Morph tells Zapier when a record is created, updated or deleted, and the Zap starts right away. The polling interval of your plan does not apply to them, which is good news on the free plan. In the editor, a Zap built on one of these triggers shows a lightning bolt. The type is set by Morph itself, so it cannot be changed from the editor.
04What does it take to connect a Morph account?
An account on Morph, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch. You connect from the Apps page of Zapier: add a connection, pick Morph, sign in in the tab that opens and grant access. Every step then also asks for a team, a Database ID and a Table Slug, so the connected account must be able to reach that team and that database.
05Why does Update Record not find the row?
Look at the Update Target Filter first. That field takes the system name of a Morph field, not the label you see in the table, and it only matches when the value is exactly equal. A value with an extra space may find nothing. Check the system name of the field in Morph, map a value that is identical to what the record holds, and run the test before you publish.
06What if the Morph operation you need is not there?
Open the Morph page on Zapier: it shows the current list of triggers and actions, which is what the editor offers. With three triggers and three actions, the integration covers creating, changing and deleting records, and reacting to the same three events. If you need something else, such as looking a record up first, it cannot be built with this integration today, and checking another automation tool is the honest next step.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for Morph?
Judge by criteria, not by a ranking. Check first whether Morph is in the other tool's catalog at all; on Zapier it is, with instant triggers that start a Zap right away on every plan. Then look at billing: Zapier counts one task per successful action, so estimate how many records change each month. Finally, think about who maintains the automations: a team already at ease in Zapier adds Morph with nothing new to learn.
