Mumara Zapier integrationAutomate Mumara with Zapier.

The Mumara Zapier integration gives you 1 trigger, 1 action and 0 searches. One instant event when a contact lands in a list, one step that adds a contact to a list. Small, but enough to sync a contact list with the rest of your tools in both directions.

Overview

What the Mumara Zapier integration does for you

It links your Mumara account to the other tools you use, through Zapier. A Zap is the automation you build there: one event that starts it, then one or more steps that run each time that event happens. On the Mumara side, the Zap can either start when a contact is added, or add a contact for you.

A shared record of every new subscriber. With New Contact Added as the starting point, each contact that enters the list you pick ends up as a row in a spreadsheet. Nobody exports a file by hand to see who joined, and the sheet grows one line per contact.

Contacts that arrive from another tool, already in the right list. Put Add a Contact after the event of another app (a form or a sign-up page, for example) and the person is filed in a Mumara list with their email address, without a copy and paste.

A heads-up to the team. The same trigger can feed a message in your team chat, so whoever follows the list hears about each new entry. Add a filter first if only some contacts deserve a message (that step needs a paid plan).

What Zapier does not do for Mumara: the editor offers no search, no way to update or remove a contact, and no step that sends a campaign. Two operations, that is the whole catalog. If you need more, see our Mumara Make integration page and weigh the two.

Vocabulary

Zapier words you will meet on this page

Seven terms, in plain words. Each one comes back further down without a second explanation.

Zap
The automation you set up on Zapier: one event that starts it, followed by the steps that run every time it happens.
Trigger
The event in an app that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it, here a new Mumara contact.
Action
What the Zap does after it starts: the step that writes, sends or moves something, such as adding a contact.
Task
The unit Zapier bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. Your plan's count is a count of those.
Polling vs instant trigger
Polling: Zapier checks the app on a timer. Instant: the app calls Zapier the moment the event happens. Mumara's trigger is instant.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap carry on only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
Multi-step Zap
Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action or a filter makes one, and it then needs a paid plan.
Cost

What a Mumara Zap really costs

Mumara is not reserved for paid plans: it works from the free plan. The trigger never costs a task, and neither does Zapier waiting for new contacts.

  • TriggerNever billed
  • Successful action1 task
  • Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps
  • MumaraAvailable on the free plan

Each Add a Contact that goes through counts as one task, and so does each action of another app in the Zap; one that fails is not counted. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, but only two steps each. Add a filter or a second action and the Zap becomes multi-step, which needs a paid plan. The interval grid below is how often Zapier checks polling triggers; it does not apply to Mumara's only trigger, which is instant.

Connect

Connect your Mumara account to Zapier

  1. 01

    Open the Apps page

In your Zapier account, go to Apps. A connection is your Mumara account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every step that uses Mumara. You need a Mumara account, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch.

  2. 02

    Add the connection

Click + Add connection, type Mumara in the search box of the dialog that appears and pick it from the results. Then click Add connection to start the link.

  3. 03

    Sign in and grant access

A tab opens on Mumara. Sign in with the account the Zap should work on, then grant Zapier access to it. From then on, both operations can use this connection.

First Zap

Your first Zap: tell the team about each new contact

GoalEach contact added to a chosen Mumara list sends a message to your team chat, but only when it passes a filter you define.

  1. 01

    Build: pick the trigger

Create a Zap, choose Mumara as the app and New Contact Added as the event, then select your Mumara connection. Pick the list in the required List Id field.

  2. 02

    Test the trigger

Run the test: Zapier brings back the three most recent contacts of the connected account, so you map the next steps on a real one. Check at test which details come back.

  3. 03

    Add the filter

From the plus icon, add Filter and fill its three boxes: the field to look at, the rule, the value. This step makes the Zap multi-step, so it needs a paid plan.

  4. 04

    Add the chat step

Add your team chat as the action, pick the step that posts a message, and map the contact details returned by the trigger into the message text.

  5. 05

    Test, then publish

Run each step once and read what came back. When the message in your chat looks right, click Publish to switch the Zap on.

Triggers

The Mumara trigger

1 event starts a Zap when something happens in Mumara, and one of them is instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.

1

New Contact Added

Instant trigger

In Zapier“Triggers when there's a new contact.”

Starts your Zap whenever a contact appears in the Mumara list you selected, and hands that contact to the steps that follow, ready to be copied, announced or sorted elsewhere.

How it fires
the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan.
When to use it
when each new subscriber should show up in another tool, a sheet or a chat, without anyone exporting the list.
Watch out
List Id is required, so the connected account needs at least one list to pick before the test can run.
Actions

The Mumara action

Mumara gives you 1 action. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Add a Contact

Action

In Zapier“Add the contact to a Mumara List.”

Files a person in one of your Mumara lists, using details that an earlier step of the Zap carried in.

When to use it
when someone signs up in another app and should land in a Mumara list straight away.
Watch out
Contact List and Email Address are both required; map the email from an earlier step, or the step cannot run.
When it breaks

When a Mumara Zap breaks

Zapier links no help article to Mumara, so the pitfalls below are the general ones that hit any Zap built on it.

Read these cases before you publish. If something still goes wrong after that, see our Zapier troubleshooting guide.

  • No catch-up on old contacts

A Zap only reacts to what happens after you switch it on. Contacts already in the list are not picked up; moving them is a separate job.
  • A Zap that sets itself off

As a general precaution: a Zap that writes into the very place its own trigger watches can start itself again and again, and burn through your tasks.
  • Bulk imports held back

When a trigger suddenly returns a huge batch, after a bulk import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold the runs back.
  • Two steps on the free plan

The free plan builds Zaps of one trigger and one action. A filter or a second action turns it into a multi-step Zap that needs a paid plan.

FAQ

Mumara Zapier integration: common questions

01Is the Mumara Zapier integration free?
Yes. Mumara is not one of the apps Zapier reserves for paid plans, so it works from the free plan. That plan gives 100 tasks a month and an unlimited number of Zaps, each limited to two steps: one trigger and one action. A Zap that copies each new Mumara contact somewhere else, or one that adds a contact from another tool, fits inside it. The moment you add a filter or a second action, the Zap becomes multi-step and needs a paid plan.
02How many tasks does a Mumara Zap use?
One task per action that completes. The trigger never costs anything, and neither does Zapier waiting for new contacts. So a Zap that starts on New Contact Added and posts one message uses one task per new contact. A Zap that ends with Add a Contact uses one task per contact filed. If an action does not go through, it is not counted against your plan. With several actions in one Zap, each successful action counts on its own.
03Does Mumara trigger Zaps in real time?
Yes. New Contact Added is an instant trigger: the app tells Zapier the moment it happens, so the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan. The interval grid that slows polling triggers on the free plan does not apply to it. In the editor, a Zap built on an instant trigger shows a lightning bolt. The type comes from the app itself and cannot be changed from the editor, so there is nothing to switch on.
04What do you need to connect Mumara to Zapier?
A Mumara account, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch. The steps: open Apps in your Zapier account, click + Add connection, search for Mumara and pick it, click Add connection, sign in on the tab that opens and grant Zapier access. The connection is then reused by every Mumara step. Since both operations ask for a list, check that the account can see at least one.
05Why does New Contact Added ask for a List Id?
Because List Id is a required field of that trigger: the Zap cannot be set up without choosing a list. The same goes for Add a Contact, which requires a Contact List and an Email Address. In practice, create or locate your list in Mumara first, then come back to the editor and pick it. Run the trigger test afterwards: Zapier brings back the three most recent contacts of the connected account, which shows you what the Zap will receive.
06What if the Mumara operation you want is not there?
Then the Zapier route cannot do it today. The editor shows one trigger and one action for Mumara: no search, no update, no deletion, no campaign sending. The Mumara page on Zapier shows the current list, so check it before you plan a Zap. Meanwhile, two options remain: design around the two existing moves, for instance letting another tool hold the data you would have looked up, or look at whether Make or n8n covers the step.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for Mumara?
Compare them on three criteria rather than on a ranking. First, the operations each tool offers for Mumara: on Zapier, that is one instant trigger and one action. Second, how each one counts usage: Zapier bills each successful action as a task, and its free plan stops at two steps. Third, the editor your team is willing to learn. For a trigger that is instant, the polling interval of each plan simply does not come into play, so it is not a criterion here.
