Nelio Forms Zapier integrationAutomate Nelio Forms with Zapier.
The Nelio Forms Zapier integration gives you 1 trigger, 0 actions and 0 searches. That trigger is instant: someone submits one of your WordPress forms built with Nelio Forms, and your automation starts right away, sending the entry to the tools you work in.

What the Nelio Forms Zapier integration is for
Nelio Forms builds forms on a WordPress site. The integration links it to Zapier so that each submitted entry can start a Zap: an automation that runs by itself once you switch it on. The form collects; your other tools receive. Nothing is written back into Nelio Forms. The trigger has one required field, the Nelio Form Identifier.
Three results people build from that one trigger. Leads that land in your CRM: New Form Entry creates a contact from each contact-form submission, so nobody has to copy submissions by hand. A shared list of answers: the same trigger adds a row to a spreadsheet for every entry, which gives the whole team one place to read submissions. An e-mail alert for you: it can also send you an e-mail from your e-mail tool for each new entry, handy when you are away from the site.
What Zapier does not do with Nelio Forms: anything inside it. There is no action and no search. A Zap will not create a form, change one, delete an entry or look up past submissions. Building and editing forms stays in WordPress.
The trigger is instant, so none of these waits for a check, whatever your plan; what decides the plan you need is the number of steps and of tasks.
Before choosing a tool, see our Zapier review and our n8n vs Zapier page.
Zapier words in one minute
Eight terms you will see in the editor, each in plain words.
- Zap
- Your automation on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time that trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. With Nelio Forms there is one: a form entry is submitted.
- Action
- What the Zap does once it has started: the step that writes, sends or moves the entry for you in another tool.
- Task
- What Zapier bills: one action that your Zap completes successfully. The count on your plan is a count of those.
- Instant trigger
- A trigger the app reports itself, calling Zapier the moment the event happens. New Form Entry works this way.
- Polling trigger
- A trigger Zapier checks on a timer, asking for new items at a fixed interval. Nelio Forms has none of these.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap continue only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
- Multi-step Zap
- Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A filter or a second action makes it one, and it then needs a paid plan.
What Nelio Forms costs you on Zapier
Nelio Forms is not a premium app, so it works from the free plan. The trigger never costs a task. Each action that succeeds counts as one, and an action that fails is not counted.
- Premium appNo, works on the free plan
- Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps
- TriggerCosts no task
- Failed actionNot counted
The free plan gives you 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, each limited to two steps. One form entry into one CRM contact fits exactly. Add a second action or a filter and the Zap becomes multi-step, which needs a paid plan. A Zap that writes a row and sends an e-mail spends two tasks per entry. The grid below shows the polling interval per plan; it does not apply to Nelio Forms, whose only trigger is instant.
Connect Nelio Forms to Zapier in three steps
- 01
Open your Apps page
In your Zapier account, go to the Apps page and click + Add connection. A connection is your Nelio Forms account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every Zap that listens to your forms.
- 02
Pick Nelio Forms
Search for Nelio Forms by name in the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. A new tab opens for the sign-in, so keep your Nelio Forms login details nearby.
- 03
Sign in and grant access
Sign in to Nelio Forms in that tab and grant Zapier access to the account. You need an account on the app, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch.
Your first Zap: log each entry and get an e-mail alert
GoalAdd every Nelio Forms entry to your spreadsheet, then send yourself an e-mail alert from your e-mail tool.
- 01
Set the trigger
Create a Zap, choose Nelio Forms as the app that starts it and New Form Entry as the event, select your connection, then fill in the required Nelio Form Identifier field.
- 02
Test on real entries
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent entries of the connected account, so you map the next steps on real answers and see which fields arrive.
- 03
Add the spreadsheet row
Add your spreadsheet as the first action and place each answer in its column, using only the fields you saw during the test.
- 04
Add the e-mail
Add your e-mail tool as the second action, address it to yourself and write the alert. Two actions make a multi-step Zap, so this one needs a paid plan.
- 05
Test, then publish
Test each action once and read what came back. When it looks right, click Publish: the Zap is on and waits for the next entry.
Nelio Forms trigger
1 event starts a Zap when something happens in Nelio Forms, and one of them is instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.
New Form Entry
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a form entry is submitted.”
Each form entry submitted in Nelio Forms starts the Zap once, and the test shows which answers arrive, so a contact request reaches your CRM or your team without anyone opening WordPress.
When a Nelio Forms Zap does not do what you expect
Zapier attaches no help article and no rate limit specific to Nelio Forms. What applies are the general limits of every Zap, plus the one required field of the trigger.
Four situations to know before entries depend on this Zap. If one stops behaving, see our Zapier troubleshooting guide.
Earlier entries are not picked up
A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. Entries submitted before that never reach it; moving that history is a separate job.One required field to fill
New Form Entry requires Nelio Form Identifier. Fill it in when you set up the trigger, and check at the test what comes through before the Zap goes live.A bulk import can be held back
When a trigger suddenly returns a huge batch, after a bulk import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold it back.A second step means a paid plan
The free plan builds Zaps of one trigger and one action. A filter, a second action or a search makes the Zap multi-step, which needs a paid plan.
