What the NextLM Zapier integration is for
NextLM is a sales intelligence platform: it spots prospects who are ready to buy from their behavior and the content they read. On Zapier it exposes a single event, a new lead unlocked by its agent. Linking the two means every unlocked lead can go straight on to the tools you already work in, without an export.
With one trigger, the value comes from where you send it. Three results people set up. A CRM that receives the lead: New Lead starts a Zap whose action creates the contact in your CRM. A shared list for the team: the same trigger adds a row to a spreadsheet, so everyone sees what NextLM found. A heads-up in the team chat: a message goes to a channel so the team sees the new lead. Each of these is a two-step Zap, so each one fits the free plan on its own.
What Zapier does not do here. NextLM has no action and no search on Zapier, so no Zap can write into NextLM, update a lead there or look one up: the flow only goes out of the app. The trigger is not instant either. Zapier checks it on a timer, every 15 minutes on the free plan. And a Zap only sees leads unlocked after it is switched on, so the ones already in your account stay where they are.
Before choosing a tool for this kind of flow, see our n8n vs Zapier comparison.
Zapier vocabulary in one minute
A handful of Zapier words come back on this page. Here they are in plain English, once.
- Zap
- The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time that trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap, here a lead unlocked by NextLM. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it.
- Action
- What the Zap does once it has started: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you in another tool.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills. One task is one action your Zap completes successfully, and your plan counts those.
- Polling vs instant
- A polling trigger is checked on a timer and Zapier keeps only what it has not seen. An instant one is reported by the app. NextLM's is polling.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap go on only when what arrived meets a condition you set, and stops it there otherwise.
- Multi-step Zap
- Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action or a filter makes one, and it then needs a paid plan.
What a NextLM Zap really costs
Zapier bills tasks, not Zaps. The NextLM trigger itself never costs a task, however often Zapier checks for new leads.
- Trigger checksFree, never billed
- Successful action1 task each
- Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps
- Premium appNo
Only the actions in the other tools count: each one that goes through is one task, and one that fails is not counted. A Zap that sends each lead to your CRM uses one task per lead; add a chat message and it uses two. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, each limited to one trigger and one action. A second action or a filter makes the Zap multi-step, which needs a paid plan. NextLM is not a premium app, so it works on the free plan. Its trigger is a polling one, so the interval grid below applies to it.
Connect your NextLM account to Zapier
- 01
Open the Apps page
In your Zapier account, go to Apps and click + Add connection. In the dialog that opens, type NextLM in the search box and pick it from the results that appear.
- 02
Sign in to NextLM
Click Add connection, then sign in to NextLM in the tab that opens. You need an account on the app, plus read or write access on anything you do not own yourself and want the Zap to touch.
- 03
Grant access
Allow Zapier to reach the account. The connection is saved once, then reused by every Zap that starts from a NextLM lead, so you will not repeat this step later.
Your first NextLM Zap, step by step
GoalEach lead NextLM unlocks becomes a contact in your CRM, and the team gets a message about it.
- 01
Create the Zap
Start a new Zap, choose NextLM as the trigger app and New Lead as the event. Connect your account if Zapier asks for it.
- 02
Test the trigger
Run the test: Zapier brings back the three most recent leads of your account, so you map a real one. Read what came back to see which values you can pass on.
- 03
Send the lead to your CRM
Add your CRM as the action and map the values from the NextLM test into its contact fields. With only these two steps, the Zap runs on the free plan.
- 04
Tell the team
Add a second action that posts a message in your team chat. The Zap becomes multi-step and needs a paid plan, and it now uses two tasks per lead.
- 05
Test, then publish
Run each step once and read what came back before going on. When the contact and the message look right, publish the Zap to switch it on.
The NextLM trigger
1 event starts a Zap when something happens in NextLM. Zapier checks for them at the interval your plan allows.
New Lead
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new lead is unlocked by the NextLM agent.”
Starts a Zap each time the NextLM agent unlocks a new lead. It is the only operation the app offers on Zapier, so every NextLM Zap begins here and does its work in other tools.
When a NextLM Zap breaks
Zapier attaches no help article to NextLM, and no limit specific to the app has been recorded. What follows are the general Zapier limits, read with a single polling trigger in mind.
Keep these four cases in mind before you publish. When a Zap does stop, see our Zapier troubleshooting guide.
Past leads stay behind
A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. Leads already unlocked in NextLM are not sent; moving that backlog is a separate job.A Zap that restarts itself
As a general rule, a Zap that writes into the place its own trigger watches can set itself off again and burn through the task count.A sudden flood held back
When a trigger suddenly returns a huge batch, after a bulk import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold it back. The same lead only once
On a polling trigger, Zapier keeps track of what it has already seen, so the same lead does not start the Zap twice.
