Overview

What the Nvoip Zapier integration does for your customer messages

The Nvoip Zapier integration lets your other tools send SMS, WhatsApp template messages, phone calls and automated voice messages through your Nvoip account, without code. Something happens elsewhere (a form, a sale, a booking) and Zapier asks Nvoip to reach the customer for you.

Three results you can expect. A confirmation text on every order: a new sale in your store becomes an SMS through Send SMS, or through Send SMS With Template if you keep approved wording in the Nvoip panel. A WhatsApp follow-up with fixed wording: Send WhatsApp (With HSM) sends a template you prepared in Nvoip, so marketing can trigger it without writing anything. Reminder calls nobody has to dial: Send Voice Broadcast plays a recorded or synthesized message, and the interactive version waits for a keypress before playing a second one.

What Zapier does not do for Nvoip: there is no trigger, so nothing that happens in Nvoip (an incoming message, an answered call, a key pressed) can start a Zap. There is no search either. Nvoip is always the last step, never the first, so plan the starting app carefully.

If you want inbound events to drive your flows, compare the options in n8n vs Zapier and Make vs Zapier.

Vocabulary

Zapier vocabulary in one minute

Seven words come back on every line of this page. Here they are in plain English, once.

Zap
The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time the trigger event happens.
Trigger
The event in an app that starts the Zap. Nvoip has none, so another app, like your store or your form tool, plays that part.
Action
What the Zap does once it has started: the step that sends something for you, like an SMS or a WhatsApp message via Nvoip.
Task
The unit Zapier bills. One task is one action your Zap completes successfully, and your plan counts those.
Polling vs instant
A polling trigger is checked on a timer. An instant trigger is reported by the app itself the moment it happens. Your source app decides which.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap go on only when what arrived meets your condition, for example a phone number that is filled in.
Connection
Your Nvoip account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every step of every Zap that sends through Nvoip.
Cost

What an Nvoip Zap really costs

Zapier bills completed actions, not events. The trigger in your other app never costs a task, and neither does the waiting.

  • Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps only
  • Triggernever costs a task
  • Premium appno, Nvoip works on the free plan
  • Nvoip triggersnone, start from another app

Each Nvoip action that succeeds counts as one task: one SMS sent, one task. An action that fails is not counted. The free plan gives you 100 tasks a month, but only two-step Zaps, so one trigger and one Nvoip action. Add a filter or a second action and the Zap becomes multi-step, which needs a paid plan. Zapier only counts the task: one SMS is one task, whatever its length within the 160-character cap.

Connect

Connect your Nvoip account to Zapier

  1. 01

    Open your connections

In Zapier, open the Apps page of your account and click + Add connection. You need an Nvoip account first, with access to the numbers and templates the Zap will use.

  2. 02

    Pick Nvoip

In the dialog, type Nvoip, select it and click Add connection. A new tab then opens on the Nvoip side, and that is where you sign in with your Nvoip account.

  3. 03

    Sign in and grant access

Sign in to Nvoip in that tab and allow Zapier to reach your account. The connection then appears on the Apps page, and every Zap that sends through Nvoip can reuse it.

First Zap

Your first Nvoip Zap: text each new booking

GoalEach new row in a booking sheet sends an SMS to the customer, but only when a mobile number is filled in.

  1. 01

    Create the Zap

Start a new Zap. Nvoip has no trigger, so pick the app where bookings land as the starting point, here a spreadsheet, and the event for a new row.

  2. 02

    Test the trigger

Run the trigger test. Zapier brings back the three most recent rows, so you map the next steps on a real booking with a real customer name.

  3. 03

    Add the filter

Click the plus icon and add a Filter on the mobile number column. A filter makes the Zap multi-step and needs a paid plan; on the free plan, skip it.

  4. 04

    Add the Nvoip action

Pick Nvoip and Send SMS. Map the mobile number (Brazilian numbers only, without leading zero or country code) and write the message within 160 characters.

  5. 05

    Test, then publish

Send one test SMS to your own phone. Then click Publish to switch the Zap on. If the test fails, open Zapier troubleshooting.

Actions

Nvoip actions on Zapier

Nvoip gives you 6 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Make Call

Action

In Zapier“Make a outbound call using Nvoip.”

Places an outbound phone call through Nvoip to the number your Zap provides.

When to use it
a hot lead fills a form and you want the call launched right away rather than added to a list.
Watch out
the destination uses the international E.164 format, and the call mode decides whether it goes out from your virtual number or your Numbersip. Calls outside Brazil need activation by Nvoip support first.
2

Send SMS With Template

Action

In Zapier“Send an SMS to a customer using a template created in the Nvoip Panel.”

Picks a template you already created in the Nvoip panel and sends it to the mobile number mapped from your trigger.

When to use it
the wording is fixed and validated, and nobody should edit it inside Zapier.
Watch out
the template list comes from your Nvoip account, so create it there first. The same Brazil-only rule applies to the number.
3

Send SMS

Action

In Zapier“Send a customized SMS message to a customer.”

Sends a text message you write in the Zap, with values mapped from earlier steps such as the customer's first name or an order number.

When to use it
a short confirmation or a delivery update that changes with each customer.
Watch out
the message is capped at 160 characters, and the mobile number must be Brazilian, entered without a leading zero or country code.
4

Send Voice Broadcast

Action

In Zapier“Send an automated voice message (voicebot) from a caller to a destination. The message can be an audio file (mp3 or wav) or a text that will be read via TTS (Text-to-Speech). This action does not require or accept user interaction.”

Calls a number and plays an automated voice message, either an audio file or a text read aloud by a synthetic voice. The person cannot answer back.

When to use it
an appointment reminder that should reach people who ignore texts.
Watch out
you must pick the Nvoip user whose caller ID will show, and the same activation rule applies to foreign numbers.
5

Send Interactive Voice Broadcast

Action

In Zapier“Send an automated voice message (voicebot) to a destination with the ability to receive user input via DTMF. The initial message is delivered as an audio file or TTS, and the system will play a follow-up audio message after receiving the user's response.”

Plays a first voice message, waits for the person to press a key, then plays a second message in response.

When to use it
a confirm-or-cancel call for appointments, where the keypress itself is the answer.
Watch out
both the initial audio and the response audio are required, and Zapier offers no trigger to bring the keypress back into another Zap.
6

Send WhatsApp (With HSM)

Action

In Zapier“Send WhatsApp template messages using Nvoip for efficient and automated communication with your customers.”

Delivers a WhatsApp template message (HSM is what the editor calls a WhatsApp template made in the Nvoip panel) from the number linked to your Nvoip account.

When to use it
a payment reminder or a booking confirmation on the channel your customers actually read.
Watch out
four fields are required: the template, the destination, your WhatsApp account and the template language, such as pt_BR.
When it breaks

When an Nvoip Zap breaks

Zapier attaches no help article to Nvoip, so the failures below come from the action fields and from limits every Zap shares.

Most broken Nvoip Zaps fall into four cases. Each one is easy to avoid once you know it. To have a sending flow audited or rebuilt, see the Zapier agency page.

  • The SMS never leaves

Both SMS actions accept Brazilian mobile numbers only, typed without leading zero or country code. A number stored with its country code in your sheet has to be cleaned first.
  • The message runs past 160 characters

Send SMS takes 160 characters at most. Mapped fields such as long product names can push a short text past that limit without you noticing.
  • Foreign calls don't go through

Make Call and both voice broadcasts use E.164 numbers, and anything outside Brazil needs your account activated by Nvoip support first.
  • Old contacts are never reached

A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is switched on. Rows or orders that already existed in your source app will not get a message.

FAQ

Nvoip Zapier integration: frequent questions

01Is the Nvoip Zapier integration free?
On the Zapier side, yes. Nvoip is not a premium app, so it works from the free Zapier plan. That plan gives 100 tasks a month and two-step Zaps only: one trigger from another app, one Nvoip action. A filter or a second action requires a paid plan. Your Nvoip subscription is a separate matter, and Zapier needs an Nvoip account to connect to. On the Zapier side, count one task per message or call that goes out, so a busy trigger can use up the 100 tasks quickly.
02How many tasks does an Nvoip Zap use?
One task per Nvoip action that succeeds. A Zap that sends one SMS per new order uses one task per order. Add a WhatsApp message in the same Zap and each order costs two. The trigger in your source app never costs a task, and an action that fails is not counted. So the real question is how many events your trigger produces in a month: that number, times the Nvoip actions in the Zap, is your task count.
03Does the Nvoip integration work in real time?
It depends on the app that starts the Zap, because Nvoip has no trigger of its own. If that app offers an instant trigger, it tells Zapier the moment the event happens and the SMS or call follows right away. If it uses a polling trigger, Zapier checks on a timer: every 15 minutes on the free plan, every 2 minutes on Professional, every minute on Team and Enterprise. Once triggered, the Nvoip action itself runs straight away.
04What do you need to connect Nvoip to Zapier?
An Nvoip account, with access to the numbers, users and templates your Zap will use. The connection takes six gestures: open the Apps page in Zapier, click + Add connection, search Nvoip, click Add connection, sign in to Nvoip in the new tab, then grant access. For WhatsApp, the number must already be linked through the Nvoip panel, and templates must exist there before Zapier can list them. Every Nvoip step then reuses this one connection.
05Why does Nvoip reject a phone number from Zapier?
Usually because of the format. The two SMS actions want a Brazilian mobile number without the leading zero and without the country code. The call and voice actions want the international E.164 format instead, and they only reach numbers outside Brazil once Nvoip support has activated that option on your account. The same contact can therefore need two formats in two different steps. Clean the number in your source app, or with a formatting step, before it reaches Nvoip.
06What if the Nvoip operation you need is not there?
Then Zapier cannot do it with Nvoip today. The editor offers six actions and nothing else: no trigger, so incoming messages or answered calls cannot start a Zap, and no search to look something up in Nvoip. Two workarounds. Rely on your source app for the logic and keep Nvoip as the sending step. Or compare what other automation tools offer for Nvoip before you commit. The six actions above are what the editor shows today, so trust that list over an old tutorial.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for Nvoip?
It depends on the criterion, not on a winner. Zapier gives you six ready Nvoip actions and a guided editor, which suits a team that wants to send messages from its existing tools without a developer. On Zapier, sending one event out as SMS, WhatsApp and a call means three actions: a multi-step Zap on a paid plan, and three tasks per event. Short flows that just send: Zapier fits. Flows that must react to what happens in Nvoip: Zapier has no trigger for that, so compare the other tools on that criterion.
