Nimble Zapier integrationAutomate Nimble with Zapier.
The Nimble Zapier integration gives you 1 trigger and 2 actions. Enough to react when a contact lands in your CRM, add contacts from your other tools, and turn each new person into a follow-up task, without writing a line of code.

What the Nimble Zapier integration actually does
It is a bridge between Nimble, the social CRM, and the rest of your tools. Zapier watches your Nimble account for new contacts, and it can write into Nimble too: a new contact, or a new task. Everything happens in Zap form, a small automation you build once and leave running.
Three outcomes cover most of what people build with it. A contact base that fills itself: with Create Contact, a lead that arrives in another tool ends up in Nimble without anyone retyping it. A follow-up nobody forgets: New Contact spots the person, Create Task puts the call or the email on someone's list. A signal for the rest of the team: the same trigger can feed any other app Zapier connects, so a sales rep hears about a new contact where they already work.
What it does not do matters just as much. There is no search step, so a Zap cannot look up an existing Nimble contact before acting. There is no update action either: a contact gets created, never edited. And the only trigger is on new contacts, not on new tasks or deals. If your process depends on one of those, check the Nimble Make integration before you build anything at all, and read our Make vs Zapier comparison to weigh the two.
Zapier vocabulary in one minute
Eight words, and the rest of the page reads easily.
- Zap
- The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time that trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event that starts the Zap. Here, a new contact in Nimble. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it and does the rest.
- Action
- What the Zap does once it has started: the step that creates something for you, like a contact or a task in Nimble.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills. One action that completes successfully counts as one task, and your plan is a monthly count of those.
- Polling vs instant
- A polling trigger is checked by Zapier on a timer. An instant trigger is reported by the app the moment it happens. Nimble's is polling.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap carry on only when what arrived matches a condition you set. Otherwise the run stops there.
- Multi-step Zap
- Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A second action or a filter makes it one, and it then needs a paid plan.
- Connection
- Your Nimble account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every step of every Zap that touches Nimble.
What it really costs
Zapier does not bill per Zap. It bills per action that works.
- Free plan100 tasks a month
- Zap size on the free plan2 steps: one trigger, one action
- Premium appNo, Nimble works on the free plan
- Trigger typePolling (checked on a timer)
Watching Nimble for new contacts is free: the trigger never costs a task, however often Zapier checks. Each action that goes through counts as one task, and an action that fails costs nothing. A Zap with two actions spends two tasks per contact. The free plan gives you 100 tasks a month and as many Zaps as you like, but only two-step Zaps: one trigger, one action. Add a filter or a second action and you need a paid plan. Nimble itself is not a premium app, so it works on the free plan.
Connect Nimble to Zapier in 3 steps
- 01
Open your connections
In Zapier, go to the Apps page of your account and click + Add connection. A dialog opens with a search box: type Nimble and pick it from the list of apps.
- 02
Sign in to Nimble
Click Add connection. A new tab opens on Nimble's own sign-in page. Log in with the account whose contacts and tasks you want the Zap to read and write.
- 03
Grant access
Nimble asks you to let Zapier into the account. Accept, and the connection shows up on your Apps page. From now on every Nimble step in every Zap reuses it, you never sign in again.
Your first Zap: a task for every promising contact
GoalWhen a new contact appears in Nimble and matches your condition, create a follow-up task for it.
- 01
Create the Zap
Start a new Zap, then pick Nimble as the app that starts the Zap and New Contact as the event. Choose the Nimble connection you set up earlier.
- 02
Test the trigger
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent contacts of your account, so you build the rest of the Zap on a real person rather than an empty template.
- 03
Add the filter
Add a Filter step, then in Configure & test pick a field from the test contact, a rule, and a value. Only contacts that pass reach the next step.
- 04
Create the task
Add Nimble again with Create Task, and map details of the contact into the task so whoever picks it up knows who to call. Test this step on its own.
- 05
Publish
Read what came back, then Publish. The filter makes this a multi-step Zap, so it runs on a paid plan. On the free plan, drop the filter and keep the two steps.
The Nimble trigger
1 event starts a Zap when something happens in Nimble. Zapier checks for them at the interval your plan allows.
New Contact
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when you add a new contact.”
Starts your Zap each time a person is added to your Nimble contacts, whether someone typed it in by hand or another tool created it. Everything Zapier gets about that contact becomes available to the steps that follow.
The Nimble actions
Nimble gives you 2 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.
Create Contact
ActionIn Zapier“Create a new contact.”
Adds a new person to Nimble from data another step brought in, so your CRM fills up without anyone retyping names and emails.
Create Task
ActionIn Zapier“Create a new task.”
Puts a new to-do in Nimble, built from whatever the earlier steps carried, so the follow-up keeps the context of the run.
When it breaks
Nimble has no documented error of its own on Zapier. What goes wrong comes from how Zaps work in general.
Four situations account for most surprises with this integration. None of them shows up while you build the Zap, all of them show up once it runs.
Your existing contacts are ignored
A Zap only reacts to what happens after you publish it. The contacts already in Nimble never start it, so moving that backlog is a separate job.The Zap keeps firing itself
A Zap on New Contact that also runs Create Contact writes where its own trigger looks. Each new contact starts it again, and the task count goes fast.A bulk import gets held back
Import a large file of contacts at once and the trigger suddenly returns a huge batch. Zapier's flood protection can hold that batch back instead of running it all.A contact never runs twice
Zapier remembers the contacts it has already seen on a polling trigger. The same contact does not start the Zap a second time.
