What the North Commerce Zapier integration gives you
The North Commerce Zapier integration connects your North Commerce store, a selling plugin for WordPress, to Zapier, a tool that links apps together without code. Each customer, order or product created in the store can be handed to a spreadsheet, a CRM or a chat tool automatically.
Three results come up most. First, a customer list that feeds your CRM: New Customer passes each new buyer on, so follow-up starts the same day. Second, an order log for whoever ships: New Order writes each sale to a sheet or posts it to a chat channel. Third, a product list kept elsewhere: New Product copies new items into a stock sheet or a planning board.
The best news on this page: all 3 triggers are instant. North Commerce tells Zapier the moment something happens, so the free plan's 15-minute check does not apply. A shop on the free plan sees an order as fast as one on Enterprise.
What Zapier does not do here: North Commerce has no action and no search. A Zap cannot create an order, edit a product or find an existing customer in the store. North Commerce only starts Zaps; the work happens in other apps.

Zapier terms in plain English
Seven words return on every section. Here is what each one means.
- Zap
- The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time the trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event that starts the Zap, such as a new North Commerce order. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it.
- Action
- What the Zap does once started: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you, here always in another app.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. The count on your plan is a count of those.
- Instant trigger
- A trigger the app reports itself, calling Zapier the moment the event happens, so nothing waits for a timed check. All 3 here are instant.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap go on only when the incoming data meets your condition, and stops it otherwise.
- Multi-step Zap
- Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A filter or a second action makes it one, and then it needs a paid plan.
What a North Commerce Zap costs
Zapier bills tasks, and the North Commerce trigger is not one of them. A new order starting your Zap is free.
- Trigger0 tasks
- Successful action1 task each
- Free plan100 tasks a month, 2-step Zaps
- Premium appNo, works on the free plan
Each action that succeeds counts as one task; one that fails does not count. A Zap that adds each order to a sheet uses one task per order, and two if it also posts a message. The free plan offers 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, but each Zap has two steps only: one trigger, one action. Add a filter, for example to keep orders from one product, and it becomes multi-step, which needs a paid plan. North Commerce is not a premium app, so the free plan is enough to start. The interval grid below is for polling triggers and does not affect North Commerce.
Connect North Commerce to Zapier in three steps
- 01
Open the Apps page
In Zapier, go to Apps and click + Add connection. Type North Commerce in the dialog's search box and pick it. You will need a North Commerce account before you start.
- 02
Sign in to North Commerce
Click Add connection. A tab opens on North Commerce: sign in with the account that runs the store. If a client or a colleague owns the shop, ask them for access first.
- 03
Grant access
Allow Zapier to use the account. The connection is now listed on the Apps page, and every Zap step that uses North Commerce reuses it without a new sign-in.
Your first North Commerce Zap: orders into a shared sheet
GoalEach time a customer places an order in your North Commerce store, add a row with the order details to a sheet the whole team can read.
- 01
Create the Zap
In Zapier, start a new Zap. The editor shows an empty trigger card at the top, ready for you to pick an app and the event to watch.
- 02
Pick the trigger
Choose North Commerce, then
New Order, and the connection made earlier. A lightning bolt in the editor shows the trigger is instant. - 03
Test with a real order
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent orders of the store, so you can pick a real one and see which details arrive.
- 04
Add the spreadsheet step
Set the sheet as the action and match each column to an order detail. Test the step once and check the new row before moving on.
- 05
Publish
Click Publish to switch the Zap on. Each new order then lands in the sheet as soon as it is placed, for one task per order.
The 3 North Commerce triggers
3 events start a Zap when something happens in North Commerce, and 3 of them are instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.
New Customer
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when there's a new customer is created.”
Starts the Zap when a new customer record appears in your North Commerce store. That person can then be added to a CRM, a mailing tool or a welcome list without anyone exporting a file.
New Order
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new order is created.”
Fires when someone completes an order in the store. It is the trigger most shops build on first, because each sale usually means work somewhere else: packing, invoicing, a stock update.
New Product
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new product is created.”
Reacts when a product is added to North Commerce. Rather than keeping a second catalog up to date by hand, the Zap copies each new item where your team plans, prices or promotes it.
When a North Commerce Zap breaks
Zapier attaches no help article and no specific limit to North Commerce. What breaks comes from Zapier's own rules.
Three situations cause most of the surprises. Knowing them before you publish saves a lot of digging. If a Zap still acts up, head to our Zapier troubleshooting page.
Existing customers never arrive
A Zap only reacts to what happens after it goes live. Customers, orders and products already in North Commerce stay there; moving them is a separate import.A sale or import is held back
When the store reports a huge batch at once, after a catalog import or a flash sale, Zapier's flood protection can hold it back instead of running each item.No way back into the store
North Commerce has no action in Zapier. A Zap cannot write anything back into the store, so updates to orders or products stay manual.
