What the NoviSign Digital Signage Zapier integration does for your screens
NoviSign Digital Signage runs content on screens, in a shop, a lobby or a break room, and publishes message feeds that those screens display. Zapier is a tool that links apps together without code. Connected, anything that happens in another app can turn into a message on your screens, with no one typing it into NoviSign.
Announcements that come straight from a sheet. Your team adds a line to a shared spreadsheet, and Publish Message sends it to the channel your lobby screen shows.
A rolling feed of the latest news. Set a maximum number of messages per channel and NoviSign keeps only the freshest ones, dropping the oldest as new ones arrive. Good for a ticker of recent sales or new arrivals.
A single message that stays up to date. Use a fixed message ID and each run replaces the previous message instead of adding one. Ideal for a daily figure or the current menu.
What Zapier does not do here: NoviSign has no trigger, so it can never start a Zap; another app always does. There is no search, no update of a specific message by hand and no delete action. The integration only writes messages into channels; designing what the screen looks like stays in NoviSign.

Zapier vocabulary in one minute
Six words come back across this page. Here they are, in plain English.
- Zap
- The automation you build: one starting event, then one or more steps that run every time that event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. NoviSign has none, so this always comes from another app.
- Action
- What the Zap does once started: here, the step that publishes a message to your NoviSign channel.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills. One task equals one action that completed successfully; your plan counts those.
- Polling vs instant
- Polling means Zapier checks an app on a timer. Instant means the app calls Zapier the moment the event happens.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap continue only when the incoming data meets your condition, and stops it otherwise.
What a NoviSign Zap really costs
Zapier bills tasks, not triggers. Waiting for the other app's event costs nothing; each message NoviSign accepts counts once.
- Free plan100 tasks a month
- Steps on the free plan1 trigger + 1 action
- Paid plan required for NoviSignNo
- NoviSign triggers0
One published message is one task, and a publish that fails is not counted. The free plan gives you 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, limited to two steps: one trigger, one action. That fits NoviSign well: the other app's trigger, then Publish Message. Add a filter to choose which items reach the screen and the Zap becomes multi-step, which needs a paid plan. NoviSign is open to free accounts. How fast a message appears depends on the other app's trigger: if it is polling, the grid below applies.
Connect your NoviSign account in 3 steps
- 01
Open your connections
In Zapier, go to the Apps page of your account and click + Add connection. A connection is your NoviSign account linked once, then reused by every Zap that publishes to it.
- 02
Pick NoviSign Digital Signage
Type NoviSign in the search box of the dialog, select NoviSign Digital Signage, then click Add connection. You need an existing NoviSign account that can publish to the channels you plan to use.
- 03
Sign in and grant access
A new tab opens on NoviSign. Sign in with the account the Zaps should publish as, then allow Zapier to access it. From then on, every Publish Message step of every Zap reuses this one connection.
Your first NoviSign Zap
GoalApproved lines from a shared sheet appear on your lobby screen, newest first, without anyone touching NoviSign.
- 01
Create the Zap and pick the trigger
Start a new Zap in the editor. NoviSign has no trigger, so choose the app where your announcements are written, such as a spreadsheet and its new row event.
- 02
Test the trigger
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent items of that app, so you build the message on a real announcement rather than placeholder text.
- 03
Add a filter
Add a Filter step so only lines marked as ready go through. A filter makes the Zap multi-step, so it needs a paid plan; skip it to stay free.
- 04
Add Publish Message
Add NoviSign with Publish Message. Fill the Channel Name, a dynamic Message ID from the trigger, the Max Messages in Channel and the Message Data.
- 05
Test, then publish
Test the action and check the message in NoviSign Studio under the same channel name. When it shows, click Publish to switch the Zap on.
NoviSign action: what a Zap can do
NoviSign Digital Signage gives you 1 action. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.
Operations index
Publish Message
ActionIn Zapier“Publish Message in Channel”
Pushes a message into a named channel that your NoviSign screens can display, built from whatever the trigger brought in.
When a NoviSign Zap breaks
Zapier links no help article to NoviSign and lists no specific limit for it. Most surprises come from the action's own settings or from general Zap rules.
These four cases cover what tends to go wrong in the first weeks. The Zapier troubleshooting page goes further when a run fails without a clear reason.
Only one message ever shows
A static Message ID makes each run overwrite the last message, regardless of Max Messages in Channel. Map a unique value from the trigger instead.Older messages vanish
Once a channel reaches its Max Messages in Channel, NoviSign removes the oldest message to make room. Raise the limit if you need a longer history.Past items never reach the screen
A Zap only reacts to what happens after you publish it. Rows or posts that already existed stay off screen; sending them is a separate job.A bulk import gets held back
If the trigger app suddenly returns a huge batch, after an import for instance, Zapier's flood protection can hold it back instead of publishing everything.
