What the Noysi Zapier integration actually does
Noysi is a team messaging platform with public channels and private groups. Linked to Zapier, it reports new messages the moment they're posted, and it lets other apps post messages for you. Four events go out, two ways to write come in, so Noysi can sit at either end of a Zap.
Three outcomes people usually build first:
Alerts from your other tools. Send Channel Message posts a new order, a signed deal or a support ticket into the channel where the team already talks, so nobody watches five dashboards.
Mentions that don't get lost. New Mention forwards each time someone names a person in a public channel to their email or task list, handy for anyone who isn't in Noysi all day.
Messages turned into records. New Message Posted to Channel or New Message Posted to Private Group copies what's said in a specific space into a spreadsheet or a project tool.
What Zapier does not do for Noysi: there is no search, so a Zap can't look up an older message or a member. The two actions only post; nothing edits or deletes a message. And nothing posted before the Zap was switched on gets picked up. To see how other tools handle the same job, read Make vs Zapier and n8n vs Zapier.
Zapier vocabulary in one minute
Seven words come back on every Zapier screen. Here they are in plain English.
- Zap
- The automation you build: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time that trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is on, Zapier sits and waits for it to happen.
- Action
- What the Zap does after it starts: the step that writes, sends or moves something on your behalf.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills you for. One task is one action your Zap finished successfully, nothing else.
- Polling vs instant trigger
- Polling: Zapier checks the app on a timer. Instant: the app calls Zapier itself the second the event happens.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap carry on only when the incoming data meets your condition, and stops it otherwise.
- Connection
- Your Noysi account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every step in every Zap that touches Noysi.
What it really costs
A Noysi trigger never costs a task, however chatty the channel. You pay for the actions that follow, and only when they work.
- TriggersFree, never billed
- Each posted messageOne task
- Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps
Each action that completes counts as one task, so each message Send Channel Message or Send Group Message posts is one task, and a failed post is not counted. Noysi isn't a premium app, so it runs on the free plan: 100 tasks a month and Zaps limited to two steps. Add a filter or a second action and you have a multi-step Zap, which needs a paid plan. All four triggers are instant, so the polling grid below never delays them.
Connect your Noysi account
- 01
Open your Zapier apps
In Zapier, go to the Apps page of your account and click + Add connection. A dialog opens with a search box. Type Noysi in it and pick it from the list.
- 02
Sign in to Noysi
Click Add connection. A new tab opens on Noysi. Sign in with an account that belongs to the team, channels and private groups your Zaps will read or post in.
- 03
Grant access
Allow Zapier to access the account. The connection is saved once. Every Zap that uses Noysi will reuse it, so you sign in only once. A space you don't belong to needs access granted first.
Your first Zap: route urgent channel messages to a private group
GoalMessages flagged urgent in a public Noysi channel get relayed to the private group of the people on call.
- 01
Create the Zap
Start a new Zap, pick Noysi and New Message Posted to Channel. Choose the connection, then the channel where requests come in.
- 02
Test the trigger
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent messages of that channel, so you set up the next steps on a real one, not a guess.
- 03
Add a filter
Add a Filter step from the plus icon: the message text, a text rule that checks it contains urgent, and nothing else. Everything else stops here.
- 04
Add Send Group Message
Pick Noysi and Send Group Message. Choose the Team and the Group, then map the original message into Text so the on-call team sees who said what.
- 05
Test and publish
Test each step, check the group, then click Publish. The filter makes it a multi-step Zap, so it needs a paid plan. The trigger is instant.
The 4 Noysi triggers
4 events start a Zap when something happens in Noysi, and 4 of them are instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.
New Message Posted to Channel
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new message is posted to a specific #channel you choose.”
You pick one channel, and every new message posted there starts your Zap. It keeps the automation tightly scoped to a single conversation instead of the whole workspace.
New Mention
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a username is mentioned in a public #channel.”
Someone names a user in a public channel, and your Zap gets the message. It's the way to make sure a mention reaches the person even when they're not looking at Noysi.
New Public Message Posted Anywhere
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new message is posted to any public channel.”
The widest of the four: any new message in any public channel of the team starts the Zap. Useful for archiving or analysis, much less so for alerts.
New Message Posted to Private Group
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new message is posted to a specific private group”
Works like the channel trigger, but for one private group you choose. Only what's said inside that closed space starts the Zap.
The 2 Noysi actions
Noysi gives you 2 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.
Operations index
Send Channel Message
ActionIn Zapier“Post a new message to a specific #channel you choose.”
Posts a message from another app into the Noysi channel you pick, so the news shows up where the team already talks.
Send Group Message
ActionIn Zapier“Post a new message to a specific private group you choose.”
Same gesture as the channel action, aimed at one private group instead, for information that shouldn't land in front of the whole team.
When a Noysi Zap breaks
Zapier ties no help article to Noysi, so the traps below are the general ones, applied to team messaging.
Most of them don't throw an error. The Zap just does less, or more, than you expected. If one of them bites, the Zapier troubleshooting guide walks through the fix.
A Zap that talks to itself
Post with Send Channel Message into the channel your trigger watches and every post starts the Zap again. The loop burns through your task count fast.Old messages never show up
A Zap only reacts to messages posted after you publish it. The conversation history stays in Noysi, and exporting it is a separate job.A burst of messages gets held back
After an import or a sudden flood of posts, a trigger that returns a huge batch can be held back by Zapier's flood protection instead of firing for each one.The filter never lets anything through
Filter rules are typed. A number rule on message text never matches, so the Zap quietly stops at the filter on every single run, without a word. Use a text rule.
