What the Omniengage Zapier integration does
The Omniengage Zapier integration moves leads between Omniengage and your other tools, in both directions. Zapier runs small automations called Zaps: an event in one app starts them, and they do work in another. Here, a new lead collected by an Omniengage bot can start a Zap, and a Zap can add data to an Omniengage list.
Three results show up in practice. A CRM that fills itself: New Leads passes each lead your bot collects to the sales tool, so nobody retypes a conversation. A shared lead log: the same leads land as rows in a spreadsheet the marketing team can sort, with a message in the sales chat for each one. A list that gathers contacts from everywhere: Add Data to List pushes records from a form, a store or a CRM into the Omniengage list of your choice, so contacts from every source sit in one place.
What Zapier does not do for Omniengage matters as much. There is no search step, so a Zap cannot look up an existing lead or check whether someone is already in a list. It cannot edit a bot, remove data from a list or delete a lead either: the editor offers one trigger and one action. New Leads is also a polling trigger, so leads arrive at the next check, not instantly. Before picking a tool for a wider flow, see Make vs Zapier and n8n vs Zapier.
The Zapier words you will meet
Eight terms in plain words. The rest of the page uses them without explaining them again.
- Zap
- The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time the trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is switched on, Zapier waits for that event and nothing else.
- Action
- What the Zap does after it starts: the step that writes, sends or moves something on your behalf in an app.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills. One task equals one action your Zap completes successfully, and your plan counts those.
- Polling vs instant
- A polling trigger is checked by Zapier on a timer, keeping only what is new. An instant one is reported by the app itself.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap continue only when the incoming data meets your condition, and stops it otherwise.
- Search step
- A step that looks up something already stored in an app, so later steps can reuse it. Omniengage has none.
- Connection
- Your account of an app, linked to Zapier once, then reused by every step of every Zap that uses that app.
What it really costs
Zapier bills in tasks, one per action that completes. New Leads costs nothing, however often Zapier checks Omniengage, while each successful Add Data to List costs one task.
- New Leads and its checks0 tasks
- Each successful action1 task
- Free plan100 tasks a month, 2-step Zaps
- Needs a paid planFilter, search or second action
An action that fails is not counted against your plan. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, and Omniengage is not reserved for paid plans. Two catches. A free Zap stops at two steps, one trigger and one action, so a filter, a search or a second action makes it multi-step and needs a paid plan. And New Leads is a polling trigger, so how quickly a lead shows up depends on the plan grid below.
Connect your Omniengage account in three steps
- 01
Open the Apps page
In your Zapier account, go to Apps and click + Add connection. Have your Omniengage account ready: Zapier links an account that already exists, it does not create one.
- 02
Pick Omniengage
In the dialog, type Omniengage, select it in the results, then click Add connection. Zapier opens a separate tab where you sign in to Omniengage with your usual account.
- 03
Sign in and grant access
Sign in to Omniengage in that tab and grant Zapier access to the account. If a colleague owns the bots or lists you want to use, get read or write access on them first, or the Zap will not see them.
Your first Zap: log and announce every bot lead
GoalEach new Omniengage lead lands in a shared sheet and in the sales channel.
- 01
Pick the trigger
Start a new Zap, choose Omniengage as the app that starts it, then New Leads as the event, and select your Omniengage connection.
- 02
Choose the bot
Pick the bot in Select Bot. The field is required, and the trigger only watches the leads of that bot; a second bot calls for its own Zap.
- 03
Test the trigger
Run the test: Zapier brings back the three most recent leads of that bot. Pick one, so the next steps are mapped on a real lead rather than an empty sample.
- 04
Add the two actions
Add the Google Sheets step, then the Slack step, and map the lead details from the trigger into each. Three steps make a multi-step Zap, so this one needs a paid plan.
- 05
Test, then publish
Test each action once and read what came back, then click Publish to switch the Zap on. From then on, each new lead of that bot is picked up at the next check.
The Omniengage trigger
1 event starts a Zap when something happens in Omniengage. Zapier checks for them at the interval your plan allows.
New Leads
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when new leads is generated.”
Whenever one of your Omniengage bots collects a new lead, this trigger passes it to your Zap. That is how a conversation on your site or channels turns into a CRM record, a spreadsheet row or a sales alert, without anyone exporting it from Omniengage.
The Omniengage action
Omniengage gives you 1 action. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

Add Data to List
ActionIn Zapier“Add data to selected list.”
This step writes the data handed over by earlier steps into an Omniengage list you choose. Contacts gathered elsewhere end up in one place inside Omniengage.
When it breaks
Zapier attaches no help article and no rate limit to Omniengage. What goes wrong here is the general behaviour of a Zap, especially one built on a polling trigger.
Four cases cover what a sales or marketing team is likely to meet. For a run that fails for another reason, see Zapier troubleshooting.
Leads from before the Zap never arrive
A Zap only reacts to leads collected after you switch it on. Everything your bots gathered earlier stays in Omniengage, and moving that backlog is a separate job.A Zap that keeps setting itself off
A Zap that writes into the very place its own trigger watches starts itself again and again, and eats through the task count fast. Keep the output elsewhere.A sudden burst holds leads back
When a trigger suddenly returns a huge batch, after a bulk import or a migration, Zapier's flood protection can hold those leads back instead of running them all.The same lead does not run twice
Zapier remembers what it has already seen on a polling trigger, so a lead it has already processed does not start the Zap again at the next check.
