BSI Zapier integrationAutomate BSI with Zapier.
The BSI Zapier integration gives you 4 triggers and 4 actions, with no search step. All four triggers are checked on a timer, and every operation asks for the same required URL field. Here is what each one does and what it costs you.

What the BSI Zapier integration actually does
BSI is a CRM with marketing automation built in: it holds customers, leads, communications and tasks in one place. The Zapier integration lets other tools react when one of those records is ready in BSI, and lets a Zap create the same four kinds of records for you, without code.
The integration is symmetrical, which makes it easy to read. Each record type has a trigger and an action: New Lead and Create Lead, New Customer and Create Customer, New Communication and Create Communication, New Task and Create Task.
Three results come up most. Leads that land in the CRM: Create Lead files a lead against a customer from whatever form or tool captured it. Work that gets assigned: Create Task turns an event into a task, flagged high priority when it matters. A history that stays complete: Create Communication logs an exchange on the customer's record.
Two limits to know first. All four triggers are polling triggers, checked every 15 minutes on the free plan. And there is no search step, so a Zap cannot look up a customer by name or email; the customer identification has to come from an earlier step. No action updates or deletes either. The BSI Make integration covers the same app on Make.
Zapier vocabulary in one minute
Eight words carry the page. Each one is explained once, here, then used without a reminder.
- Zap
- The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run each time the trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The BSI event that starts the Zap, like a new customer being ready. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it.
- Action
- What the Zap does after it starts: here, the step that creates a lead, a customer, a communication or a task.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills: one action that completes successfully. Not to be confused with a BSI task record.
- Polling trigger
- A trigger Zapier checks on a timer, asking the app for new items and keeping what it has not seen. All four here.
- Instant trigger
- A trigger the app reports itself, the moment the event happens. BSI has none, so each Zap waits for a check.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap go on only when what arrived meets your condition, and stops it otherwise.
- Multi-step Zap
- Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A filter or a second action makes one, and it then needs a paid plan.
What it really costs you
BSI is not a premium app, so it runs from the free plan. Zapier bills in tasks, and only completed actions are counted.
- Free plan100 tasks a month
- Free plan ZapsTwo steps: one trigger, one action
- BSI triggersAll polling
- Premium appNo
The trigger never costs a task, and neither do Zapier's checks on BSI, however often they run. Each action that succeeds counts once: a Zap that creates a task and logs a communication uses two tasks per run. A failed action is not counted. The free plan gives you 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps, limited to two steps and checked every 15 minutes. Add a filter, for example to act only on some leads, and the Zap needs a paid plan.
Connect your BSI account to Zapier
- 01
Open the Apps page
In your Zapier account, go to Apps and click + Add connection. A connection is your BSI account linked once, then reused by every step that touches BSI.
- 02
Find BSI
Type BSI in the search box of the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. You need an existing BSI account, with access to the customers and records you do not own yourself.
- 03
Sign in and grant access
Sign in to BSI in the tab that opens and grant Zapier access to the account. Every BSI step in your Zaps can then reuse that same single BSI connection.
Your first Zap: a high-priority task for the leads that matter
GoalWhen a lead is ready in BSI and meets your condition, Zapier creates a high-priority follow-up task on the same customer.
- 01
Build: pick the trigger
Create a Zap, choose BSI, then
New Lead. Fill the required URL (Entwurf/Live) field with the value your BSI account uses. - 02
Test the trigger
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent items of the connected account, so you map the next steps on a real lead rather than a blank sample.
- 03
Add the filter
Add a Filter from the plus icon: the field to check, the rule, the value. A text rule for text, or the filter never passes. This makes the Zap multi-step, on a paid plan.
- 04
Add Create Task, then publish
Add
Create Task, the same URL, and the customer identification from the trigger. Tick High priority. Test the step, then Publish.
BSI triggers on Zapier
4 events start a Zap when something happens in BSI. Zapier checks for them at the interval your plan allows.
New Lead
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new Lead is ready”
Starts a Zap when a new lead is ready in BSI. It is the hand-off point between the marketing side of BSI and whoever works the opportunity next.
New Communication
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new communication is ready”
Fires when a new communication is ready, the record of an exchange with a customer. Other tools can follow the conversation history without opening the CRM.
New Customer
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new customer from BSI is ready.”
Runs when a new customer from BSI is ready. It suits anything that should happen once per account: a welcome, an onboarding task, a record in another system.
New Task
Polling triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new Task is ready”
Triggers when a new task is ready in BSI. Your team's to-do list in the CRM can feed the tools people actually check during the day.
BSI actions on Zapier
BSI gives you 4 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.
Operations index
Create Lead
ActionIn Zapier“Create a new lead”
Files a new lead in BSI. Beside the URL, it needs the customer identification, so the lead hangs on an existing customer.
Create Communication
ActionIn Zapier“Creates a new communication”
Logs a communication on a customer's record. The URL and the customer identification are required, which ties the exchange to the right account.
Create Customer
ActionIn Zapier“Creates a new customer”
Adds a new customer to BSI. Only the URL (Entwurf/Live) field is required, which makes it the easiest BSI action to set up.
Create Task
ActionIn Zapier“Creates a new task”
Creates a task linked to a customer. URL and customer identification are required; High priority is optional and flags the urgent ones.
When a BSI Zap breaks
Zapier attaches no help article to BSI and the source lists no limit specific to the app. What breaks is what breaks on any Zap.
Four cases explain most surprises. If one of them blocks you, the Zapier troubleshooting page is the next stop, and the Zapier training covers the editor step by step.
Existing customers never come through
A Zap only reacts to what happens after you switch it on. Customers, leads and tasks already in BSI stay out; moving that backlog is a separate job.A Zap that keeps setting itself off
New Task feeding Create Task, or New Customer feeding Create Customer: each created record is new, the trigger picks it up and your task count drains.A bulk import held back
Import a large customer file in one go and a trigger suddenly returns a huge batch. Zapier's flood protection can hold that batch back. The same record will not run twice
On a polling trigger, Zapier remembers what it has already seen. A lead it picked up once does not start the Zap a second time.
