Ovoform Zapier integrationAutomate Ovoform with Zapier.
The Ovoform Zapier integration gives you 1 trigger, 5 actions and 0 searches. The one trigger is instant, so a new form entry starts your Zap right away even on the free plan, and the actions build, copy and adjust forms for you.

What the Ovoform Zapier integration does with your forms
The Ovoform Zapier integration connects your Ovoform forms, surveys and quizzes to the other apps you work in, without code. A Zap (the automation you build on Zapier) waits for a new entry on a form, then carries out a job for you, in Ovoform or anywhere else Zapier reaches.
Three results justify the setup. Answers that travel on their own: New Entry hands each submission to the next step of your Zap, so a sign-up, a quote request or a quiz result reaches the right tool without an export. Forms produced on demand: Create Form opens a blank form with the title you pass, and Duplicate Form copies a form you already polished, handy when every client or every event needs its own copy. Choices that stay current: Update Question Options rewrites the options of a dropdown, multiple choice or ranking question from data kept elsewhere.
The best news for a free plan: New Entry is an instant trigger, reported by Ovoform itself, so the plan's checking interval never slows it down.
Now the limits. There is a single trigger, so nothing starts a Zap when a form is created or changed. Ovoform offers no search step in Zapier: Find Responses is an action, placed like any other. Nothing deletes a form or an entry. Custom API Request (Beta) is there for calls the standard actions miss, and it is still labeled beta. For other platforms, see Make vs Zapier and n8n vs Zapier.
Zapier words you will meet on this page
Seven terms, in plain words.
- Zap
- The automation itself: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time the trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event in an app that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is switched on, Zapier waits for that event.
- Action
- What the Zap does after it starts: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you in an app.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. The count on your plan is a count of those.
- Instant vs polling
- An instant trigger is reported by the app the moment it happens. A polling one is checked by Zapier on a timer set by your plan.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap carry on only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
- Connection
- Your Ovoform account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every step that touches Ovoform.
What an Ovoform Zap really costs
Zapier bills tasks, and a task is one action that succeeds. The New Entry trigger itself costs nothing, however many entries arrive.
- Tasks on the free plan100 per month
- Steps per Zap on the free plan2 (one trigger, one action)
- Cost of the trigger0 tasks
- Ovoform on the free planYes, not a paid-only app
An action that fails is not counted, and a Zap with three actions eats three times what a one-action Zap eats. The free plan gives you 100 tasks a month for two-step Zaps only: one trigger, one action. Adding a filter or a second action makes it a multi-step Zap, which needs a paid plan. Ovoform is not reserved to paid plans, and the interval grid below does not touch its instant trigger at all, whatever plan you are on.
Connect Ovoform to Zapier in three steps
- 01
Open your connections
In your Zapier account, open the Apps page and click + Add connection. In the dialog that opens, search for Ovoform by name and pick it from the list of results.
- 02
Sign in to Ovoform
Click Add connection. Ovoform opens in a new tab: sign in with the account that owns the forms your Zap should watch or change. Your own Ovoform account is the one prerequisite.
- 03
Grant access
Let Zapier reach the account. If the Zap will touch forms someone else owns, make sure your account can read and edit them first, or the steps using them will stop.
Your first Zap: copy a template form for each qualified request
GoalEach entry that passes your condition gets its own copy of a template form, with no manual duplication.
- 01
Pick the trigger
Start building: choose Ovoform as the app that starts the Zap, New Entry as the event, then select the form to watch. That form field is required.
- 02
Test the trigger
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent entries of the connected account; pick a real one so the next steps are mapped on actual answers.
- 03
Add a filter
From the plus icon, add a Filter step and set the field to look at, the rule and the value. A text rule only works on text, a number rule only on numbers.
- 04
Add the action
Add Ovoform again, choose Duplicate Form, and pick the template in Form to Duplicate, the one required field. Map nothing else for now.
- 05
Test, then publish
Test the action and check the copy in Ovoform. Then click Publish to switch the Zap on. The filter makes it multi-step, so a paid plan is needed.
Ovoform trigger in Zapier
1 event starts a Zap when something happens in Ovoform, and one of them is instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.
New Entry
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new entry is received.”
Each submission received on the form you choose starts the Zap and hands over its answers, so the next steps can file, forward or react to them.
Ovoform actions in Zapier
Ovoform gives you 5 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.
Operations index
Custom API Request (Beta)
ActionIn Zapier“Makes a custom HTTP request to the Ovoform API, for advanced calls the standard actions don't cover.”
The advanced option: a request you build yourself toward Ovoform, for the calls the standard actions do not cover. URL and Method are required.
Create Form
ActionIn Zapier“Creates a new blank form in Ovoform”
Opens a brand-new blank form in Ovoform. The only required field is the title you want it to carry.
Duplicate Form
ActionIn Zapier“Duplicates an existing form.”
Copies a form you already built in Ovoform, so a model you polished once can serve again. You choose the source in Form to Duplicate, which is required.
Find Responses
ActionIn Zapier“Finds form submissions by email, phone, or other text”
Looks through the submissions of one form by email, phone, name or any text. You set the form, the question to search in and the search query.
Update Question Options
ActionIn Zapier“Updates choices for dropdown, multiple choice, and ranking questions.”
Rewrites the choices of a dropdown, multiple choice or ranking question. Form, question and options are all required, with one option per line.
When an Ovoform Zap breaks
Zapier attaches no help article to Ovoform and lists no limit specific to the app. What breaks is the general behavior of Zaps.
Three cases cover most surprises. For a Zap that still misbehaves, see Zapier troubleshooting.
Old entries never come through
A Zap only reacts to what happens after you switch it on. Entries collected before that are not picked up; moving that backlog is a separate job.The Zap keeps firing on itself
A Zap that writes into the very place its own trigger watches sets itself off again and again, and burns through your task count fast.A sudden wave is held back
When a trigger suddenly returns a huge batch, after a migration for instance, Zapier's flood protection can hold it back before anything runs.
