PageCrawl.io Zapier integrationAutomate PageCrawl.io with Zapier.
The PageCrawl.io Zapier integration gives you 1 trigger, 1 action and 0 searches: react the moment a tracked web page changes, and add new pages to track from your other tools. Two operations only, so this page tells you exactly what they do and what they cost.

What the PageCrawl.io Zapier integration does for you
PageCrawl.io watches websites and notices when a page changes. The PageCrawl.io Zapier integration connects that watch to the rest of your apps. A Zap (the automation you build on Zapier: one starting event, then one or more steps after it) can act on every detected change, or hand PageCrawl.io new pages to keep an eye on.
An alert where your team already reads. New Change Detected passes each change to another app, so a pricing shift on a competitor's page or an update on a supplier's terms reaches the right people without anyone checking the site.
A watch list that grows by itself. Track New Page adds a URL to PageCrawl.io from another tool, so a page logged in a spreadsheet or a project board gets watched without a trip into PageCrawl.io.
A record of every change. Pointing New Change Detected at a spreadsheet or a notes app leaves a running log of what moved on the pages you care about, useful when someone asks later when a page changed.
What Zapier does not do for PageCrawl.io: there is no search step, no action to stop tracking or edit a page, and no way to read a page's history through the Zap. A Zap also never sees changes detected before it was switched on. Still comparing platforms? See Make vs Zapier.
The Zapier vocabulary, in plain words
Seven words come back all along this page. Here they are once.
- Zap
- The automation you build on Zapier: one starting event, then one or more steps that run every time that event happens.
- Trigger
- The event that starts a Zap. With PageCrawl.io there is one: a change spotted on a page you track.
- Action
- What the Zap does once it has started: the step that writes, sends or moves something for you, like adding a page to track.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills. One task is one action your Zap completed successfully, and your plan is a count of those.
- Instant vs polling
- An instant trigger is reported by the app the moment the event happens; a polling one is checked by Zapier on a timer. PageCrawl.io's is instant.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap carry on only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it right there otherwise.
- Connection
- Your PageCrawl.io account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every PageCrawl.io step in every Zap you build afterwards.
What a PageCrawl.io Zap really costs
The trigger never costs a task: a change reported by PageCrawl.io is free. Only an action that goes through is billed, and a failed one is not counted.
- Free plan100 tasks a month, unlimited Zaps, one trigger plus one action
- PageCrawl.io on ZapierWorks on the free plan
- New Change DetectedInstant, the interval grid does not apply
- Filter or second actionTurns the Zap into a paid multi-step Zap
Each successful action counts on its own: a Zap that sends a change to two different apps uses two tasks per change. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and builds two-step Zaps only, one trigger and one action. Add a filter or a second action and the Zap becomes multi-step, which needs a paid plan. PageCrawl.io is not reserved for paid plans, and since its trigger is instant, the interval grid below never slows it down.
Connect PageCrawl.io to Zapier in three steps
- 01
Find PageCrawl.io from the Apps page
In your Zapier account, open Apps and click + Add connection. Type PageCrawl.io in the dialog and pick it. You need a PageCrawl.io account first, with access to the workspace whose pages the Zap should handle.
- 02
Sign in to PageCrawl.io
Click Add connection. PageCrawl.io opens in a new tab: sign in with the account that owns the tracked pages. The Zap only reaches what that account reaches.
- 03
Grant Zapier access
Approve the access Zapier asks for on your PageCrawl.io account. That is all: every PageCrawl.io step of every Zap reuses this connection, so you sign in once and not once per Zap.
Your first PageCrawl.io Zap: widen the watch when a page moves
GoalWhen a change shows up on a competitor's offers page, PageCrawl.io also starts watching a second page of that site you have picked in advance.
- 01
Pick the trigger
Start building: choose PageCrawl.io as the app that starts the Zap and New Change Detected as the event, then select your PageCrawl.io connection.
- 02
Test it on a real change
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent items of your account, so you build the next steps on a real change instead of a blank sample.
- 03
Add the filter
Add a Filter step from the plus icon and fill its three boxes: the field to look at, the rule, the value. A text rule fits a page address, since it only works on text.
- 04
Add Track New Page
Choose PageCrawl.io again with Track New Page. Type the address of the second page and select the workspace that should hold it.
- 05
Test, then publish
Test the action once and check the page now appears in PageCrawl.io, then click Publish. Each later change on the watched page adds that page again, so keep this Zap for a one-off. The filter makes it multi-step: paid plan.
The PageCrawl.io trigger
1 event starts a Zap when something happens in PageCrawl.io, and one of them is instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.
New Change Detected
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a change is detected on the page.”
Starts the Zap each time PageCrawl.io spots a change on one of the pages it tracks, and passes that change to the next steps. It is the reason most people connect PageCrawl.io to Zapier: turning a quiet change on a website into a message, a row or a ticket somewhere useful.
The PageCrawl.io action
PageCrawl.io gives you 1 action. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.
Operations index
Track New Page
ActionIn Zapier“Adds a new Page to track”
Adds a web page to the list PageCrawl.io watches, from the address you give it and the workspace you pick. From then on, that page can fire New Change Detected like any other.
When a PageCrawl.io Zap breaks
Zapier links no help article to PageCrawl.io, so the failures to plan for are the ones every Zap shares. With only two operations, they are easy to see coming.
Read these four cases before switching anything on. If a Zap already misbehaves, go to Zapier troubleshooting.
Past changes are never picked up
A Zap only reacts to what happens after it is published. Changes PageCrawl.io detected before that stay in PageCrawl.io, and moving that history is a separate job.A Zap that feeds its own trigger
Track New Page adds pages that can then fire New Change Detected. A Zap that adds pages on every change can snowball and burn through your tasks fast.A burst of changes gets held back
When a trigger suddenly sends a huge batch, after a bulk import of pages for example, Zapier's flood protection can hold those items back.An instant trigger still has to be tested
Instant does not mean checked: run the test, pick one of the three recent items Zapier brings back, and map from it before you publish.
