PetPocketbook Zapier integrationAutomate PetPocketbook with Zapier.
PetPocketbook Zapier integration: 3 triggers (the events that start a Zap, the automation you build in Zapier), 0 actions and 0 searches. All three triggers are instant and follow your client families, and the app runs on the free plan.
Beta app Zapier still marks this integration as beta.

What the PetPocketbook Zapier integration gives a pet care business
PetPocketbook is the back office of a pet care business, from dog walkers to groomers: bookings, invoices, the team and the client file live there. On Zapier it only speaks in one direction. It tells Zapier when a client family is created, removed or updated, and other apps do the rest.
Three outcomes are within reach, all built on families. A welcome sequence: Family Created starts a Zap for each new client household, so the next step can add them to your newsletter or send a first message. A clean exit: Family Removed lets you take a departed client off your mailing list or out of a shared sheet. A synced address book: Family Updated pushes changed details to the other tools that hold a copy of your clients.
What it cannot do: there is no action, so no Zap can write anything into PetPocketbook, whether a booking, a family or a payment. There is no search either. The three triggers only cover families; bookings, invoices and staff never start a Zap. Zapier marks the app as beta, so this list may still change. And families created before the Zap went live are not sent.

Zapier vocabulary, the short version
A few Zapier words come back on every block of this page. Each one gets a line here.
- Zap
- Your automation on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time the trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The app event that starts a Zap. With the Zap switched on, Zapier waits for it. PetPocketbook has three.
- Action
- What the Zap does once started: the step that writes, sends or moves something. Here it always runs in another app.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. Your plan is counted in tasks.
- Instant vs polling trigger
- Instant: the app tells Zapier the moment the event happens. Polling: Zapier checks the app at a fixed interval set by your plan.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap go on only when what arrived meets the condition you set, and stops it otherwise.
- Connection
- Your PetPocketbook account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every PetPocketbook trigger in your Zaps.
What a PetPocketbook Zap costs
The three PetPocketbook triggers never cost a task. What you pay for is the action in the other app, once it succeeds.
- PetPocketbook trigger0 tasks
- Each successful action1 task
- Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps
- Filter or second actionPaid plan
A new family sent to your newsletter is 1 task; with three actions, three. A failed action is not counted. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and two-step Zaps, one trigger and one action, which is enough for a family trigger followed by a single step. A filter or a second action makes the Zap multi-step and needs a paid plan. The interval grid below concerns polling triggers; all three PetPocketbook triggers are instant, so it does not apply.
Connect PetPocketbook to Zapier in three steps
- 01
Open your Zapier apps
Go to the Apps page of your Zapier account and click + Add connection. You need a PetPocketbook account, plus access to any client records you do not own but want the Zap to read.
- 02
Find PetPocketbook
Search for PetPocketbook by name in the dialog, select it from the results, then click Add connection. A new tab opens on the PetPocketbook side for the sign-in.
- 03
Sign in and allow access
Log in to PetPocketbook in that tab and grant Zapier access to the account. The connection is saved, and every PetPocketbook trigger in every Zap can reuse it.
Your first Zap: welcome each new family to your newsletter
GoalWhen a family is created in PetPocketbook and meets your condition, it is added to your Mailchimp audience.
- 01
Set the trigger
Create a Zap, choose PetPocketbook as the app and Family Created as the event, then pick the PetPocketbook connection you added.
- 02
Test on a real family
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent families of the connected account, so the mapping is done on a real household.
- 03
Add a filter
From the plus icon, add Filter, then set the field, the rule and the value. This makes the Zap multi-step, so it needs a paid plan.
- 04
Add the subscriber
Add Mailchimp as the next app, pick the action that adds a subscriber, choose your audience and map the family's details from the trigger.
- 05
Test and publish
Test the action once and check the audience in Mailchimp. If it looks right, click Publish. Every new family that passes the filter is now added on its own.
PetPocketbook triggers
3 events start a Zap when something happens in PetPocketbook, and 3 of them are instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.
Family Created
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new family is created.”
Each new client family set up in PetPocketbook reaches Zapier and starts your Zap with that household's record. It is the natural first step of any onboarding you run outside the platform.
Family Removed
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a family is removed.”
When a client family is removed from PetPocketbook, Zapier hears about it and your Zap can clean up behind it. It is the counterpart of Family Created and keeps your other lists honest.
Family Updated
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when family details change.”
Any change to a family's details in PetPocketbook starts this trigger. It is what keeps a copy of your clients elsewhere in step with the platform.
When a PetPocketbook Zap breaks
Zapier ties no help article to PetPocketbook and lists no limit of its own for it. What goes wrong comes from Zapier's general rules.
Three cases explain most surprises. For anything else, start from our Zapier troubleshooting page.
Existing families never arrive
A Zap only reacts to what happens after you switch it on. Families that were already in PetPocketbook are not picked up; moving them is a separate job.Family Updated runs too often
Each change to a family's details starts the Zap again. Several edits in a row mean several runs, and each completed action takes one task from your plan.A bulk import is held back
If a mass import of clients suddenly sends a huge batch through a trigger, Zapier's flood protection can hold those items back rather than run them all.
