Phedone Zapier integrationAutomate Phedone with Zapier.

The Phedone Zapier integration gives you 9 actions, with no trigger and no search. Phedone reads the text of a ticket or a review and hands back a reason, a language, a rating or a summary; another app has to start the Zap.

Overview

What the Phedone Zapier integration is for

A Zap is the automation you build on Zapier: one event that starts it, then one or more steps that run each time. Phedone is a language-processing tool for support teams, and on Zapier it only plays the second role: it reads a piece of text that another app brings, then returns what it found in it.

Three results justify the setup. Tickets that sort themselves: Detect Contact Reason picks the reason of each message from a list you write, so two kinds of request can go to different people. A first answer drawn from your own help content: Answer Question pulls the passage that answers the customer out of the answers text you provide. Reviews ranked by mood: Estimate the Star Rating turns a written review into a score from 1 to 5.

What Zapier does not do here matters just as much. Phedone has no trigger, so it can never start a Zap; a help desk, a form or an inbox has to. It has no search either. Summarize French only handles French text. And Analyse a Textual Content returns its insights without keeping the text in your Phedone account.

This page reads Phedone as Zapier lists it (implementation PhedoneCLIAPI@1.3.4, read in October 2026). For a broader view of the tool, see the Zapier review, and for another way to wire the same flow, Make vs Zapier.

Vocabulary

Zapier vocabulary, in plain words

Seven terms, one line each. The rest of the page uses them without a reminder.

Zap
Your automation on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time the trigger event happens.
Trigger
The event in an app that starts the Zap. Phedone has none, so this event always comes from another app.
Action
What the Zap does once started. Every Phedone operation is an action: it reads text and returns a result.
Task
The unit Zapier bills. One task is one action your Zap completes successfully, and your plan counts those.
Polling vs instant
A polling trigger is checked by Zapier on a timer. An instant trigger is reported by its app when the event happens.
Filter
A step that lets the Zap continue only when the data meets a condition you set, for example a value you pick.
Connection
Your Phedone account linked to Zapier once, then reused by every Phedone step in every Zap you build.
Cost

What a Phedone Zap costs you

Zapier bills each action that succeeds. The trigger of the other app costs nothing, and a Phedone action that fails is not counted.

  • Free plan100 tasks a month, unlimited Zaps
  • Steps on the free plan2: one trigger, one action
  • Phedone triggersNone, another app starts the Zap
  • Reserved for paid plansNo

Phedone is not reserved for paid plans, so it runs on the free plan: 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps. The catch is the two-step cap. A help-desk trigger plus one Phedone action already uses both steps, so sending the result to a chat, a sheet or back to the ticket takes a second action, and the Zap becomes multi-step, which needs a paid plan. Chain two Phedone actions and each ticket costs two tasks. How fast the Zap starts depends on the trigger app, using the grid below when that trigger is polled.

Connect

Connect your Phedone account

  1. 01

    Open the Apps page

In your Zapier account, go to Apps and click + Add connection. Type Phedone in the dialog and pick it. You need a Phedone account before you start, with access to whatever the Zap will read.

  2. 02

    Sign in to Phedone

Click Add connection. A new tab opens on Phedone: sign in with the account your team will use for the analyses. Every Phedone step of every Zap then runs through it.

  3. 03

    Grant access

Allow Zapier to reach the account. If the account belongs to a colleague or a shared workspace, make sure it has the rights your Zaps need, or the actions will fail.

First Zap

Your first Zap: route each ticket by its reason

GoalEach new ticket gets a contact reason from Phedone, and only the reasons you choose go on to a message for the right team.

  1. 01

    Start from your help desk

Build the Zap: pick the app where tickets arrive and its new-ticket event. Phedone has no trigger, so the Zap always opens on another app.

  2. 02

    Test the trigger

Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent tickets of that account; pick a real one, since the next steps map their fields from it.

  3. 03

    Add Detect Contact Reason

Add Phedone with Detect Contact Reason. Map the ticket text into the required text field and type your own list of reasons, the ones your teams already use.

  4. 04

    Filter, then send

Add a Filter step from the plus icon: the reason returned, a text rule, the value you route. Then add the message action of your team chat.

  5. 05

    Test and publish

Test each step and read what Phedone returned before going further. Then publish to switch the Zap on. With four steps, it needs a paid plan.

Actions

The 9 Phedone actions

Phedone gives you 9 actions. For each one: what it does for you, when to reach for it, and what to watch out for.

1

Analyse a Textual Content

Action

In Zapier“Analyse a textual content and get insights without storing it in your Phedone's account”

Runs the processings you pick on a piece of text and returns the insights, without keeping the text in your Phedone account. Both the text and the list of processings are required.

When to use it
you want several readings of one ticket in a single step rather than one action per question.
Watch out
since nothing is stored, map the result into a later step or it is lost.
2

Detect Contact Reason

Action

In Zapier“Detect contact reason of a message, from list of reasons that you define”

Reads a message and tells you which of your own contact reasons it matches. You write the list; Phedone picks among it.

When to use it
tickets land in one shared inbox and must reach the right team without someone triaging them.
Watch out
the list is required and decides the answer, so keep the reasons distinct and few.
3

Detect Used Languages

Action

In Zapier“Detect main language and detailed portions of text by language”

Finds the main language of a ticket and splits out the portions written in other languages. Only the ticket text is required.

When to use it
an international support team assigns tickets by language, or a mixed message needs translating before anyone reads it.
Watch out
paired with Translate Textual Content, each ticket costs two tasks.
4

Extract Products

Action

In Zapier“Extract products from a textual content”

Pulls the products mentioned in a piece of text, so a ticket says which item it concerns without anyone reading it through.

When to use it
product managers want every complaint about their range in one sheet.
Watch out
a ticket that names no product returns nothing useful, so test on a few real messages first.
5

Extract TouchPoints

Action

In Zapier“Extract touchpoints from a textual content”

Picks out the touchpoints a customer refers to in a text: the moments and channels of their journey that the message is about.

When to use it
you want to see which steps of the customer journey generate the most contacts.
Watch out
the official description stays brief, so check the output on real tickets before building reports on it.
6

Answer Question

Action

In Zapier“Extract answer to a question from a textual content”

Finds the answer to a customer's question inside an answers text you supply, such as the content of your help center. The ticket text, the answers content and the language are all required.

When to use it
agents want a suggested reply in the ticket before they start writing.
Watch out
it only extracts from the answers you give; a gap in that text means no answer.
7

Estimate the Star Rating

Action

In Zapier“Estimates the rating express in a textual review from 1 (negative) to 5 (positive)”

Turns a written review into a score from 1, negative, to 5, positive. The review text is the only required field.

When to use it
comments come in without a star rating and you want the unhappy ones flagged first.
Watch out
a filter on that score needs a number rule; a text rule never passes.
8

Summarize French

Action

In Zapier“Summarize a french textual content”

Writes a summary of a French text. The text is required, and an optional setting asks for a longer summary.

When to use it
long French email threads must reach a manager as a few lines.
Watch out
it handles French only; other languages need Translate Textual Content first, which adds a task.
9

Translate Textual Content

Action

In Zapier“Translate text from a defined or automatically detected source language to another language”

Translates a ticket into the language you choose, from a source language you set or one that Phedone detects on its own. The text is the required field.

When to use it
customers write in a language your agents do not work in.
Watch out
send the translation somewhere with a later step, or the Zap does the work for nothing.
When it breaks

When a Phedone Zap breaks

Zapier attaches no help article to Phedone and records no limit of its own. What breaks comes from the general rules of Zapier, applied to the app that starts the Zap.

  • Old tickets are never analysed

A Zap only reacts to what happens after you switch it on. Tickets already in your help desk never reach Phedone; running them through is a separate job.
  • Writing back into the ticket

If the trigger watches updated tickets and the last step writes Phedone's result into that ticket, the Zap sets itself off again and burns tasks fast.
  • A bulk import held back

Migrate a whole ticket history into a new help desk and its trigger returns a huge batch at once. Zapier's flood protection can hold that batch back.
  • A rating filter that never passes

Filter rules are typed. The score from Estimate the Star Rating is a number, so a text rule on it never lets anything through.

FAQ

Phedone and Zapier: the questions people ask

01Is the Phedone Zapier integration free?
Yes. Phedone is not one of the apps Zapier reserves for paid plans, so it works on the free plan, with 100 tasks a month and unlimited Zaps. The limit is the two-step cap: one trigger and one action. Since Phedone has no trigger, a free Zap is another app's trigger plus one Phedone action, and the result has nowhere to go. Sending it to a chat, a sheet or the ticket takes a second action, which makes the Zap multi-step and needs a paid plan.
02How many tasks does a Phedone Zap use?
One task per Phedone action that succeeds, and nothing for the trigger of the app that starts the Zap. A Zap that detects the language of a ticket, then translates it, costs two tasks per ticket, plus one for any action that sends the result elsewhere. An action that fails is not counted against your plan. Zapier also notes that a few apps and actions take more than one task when they complete, so compare your plan's count with your real runs.
03Does Phedone work in real time?
It depends on the app that starts the Zap, because Phedone has no trigger of its own. If that app's trigger is instant, the app reports the new ticket to Zapier itself and the Zap starts right away, whatever your plan; the editor shows a lightning bolt. If it is a polling trigger, Zapier checks it at the interval of your plan: 15 minutes on Free, 2 on Professional, 1 on Team and Enterprise. Phedone then runs its action within that same Zap.
04What do you need to connect Phedone to Zapier?
A Phedone account, with rights on anything that is not yours but that the Zap must use. On the Apps page of Zapier, click + Add connection, search Phedone, click Add connection, sign in to Phedone in the tab that opens and grant Zapier access. Every Phedone step reuses that connection. Before building, prepare what some actions require: your list of contact reasons, or the answers text and its language for Answer Question.
05Can Phedone summarize tickets that are not in French?
Not directly. Summarize French only handles French text, as its name says. For a ticket in another language, a Zap can run Translate Textual Content into French first, then Summarize French on the result. That chain uses two Phedone actions, so two tasks per ticket, and with the step that sends the summary somewhere it becomes a multi-step Zap on a paid plan. Test it on a few real tickets before switching it on.
06What if the Phedone operation you need is not in Zapier?
Start with Analyse a Textual Content: it applies several general processings to a text in one step, so it may cover a reading that has no action of its own. Beyond that, the integration offers 9 actions, all described on this page, and no trigger or search. Whatever it does not list cannot be built from the Zapier editor; that part has to happen in Phedone itself or through a different automation tool.
07Zapier, Make or n8n for Phedone?
Judge it on criteria rather than a ranking. Operations first: on Zapier, Phedone offers 9 actions and nothing that starts a Zap, so list the analyses your scenario needs and check each one in the other tool. Then the starting app: the speed of the Zap depends on its trigger, not on Phedone. Finally the cost model: Zapier bills every successful action, and its free plan stops at two steps, so routing or sending a result means a paid plan.
