What the Pipebooster Zapier integration does for a sales team
The Pipebooster Zapier integration turns the job moves Pipebooster spots in your contact base into automations. When a contact changes employer, gets promoted or has outdated details, Zapier receives the event and passes it to the tools your sales team already uses.
Three results teams build with it. A warm lead at a new company: Employer Changed starts the Zap when a former customer joins another firm, and an SDR gets a message to reach out while the move is fresh. A congratulations that lands on time: Person Promoted fires when a contact takes a new role in the same company, so the account owner can follow up. A cleaner CRM: Contact Invalidated flags details that no longer work, and the next step marks the record before anyone emails into the void.
All three triggers are instant: Pipebooster tells Zapier about each event itself, so the polling interval of your plan never comes into play.
What Zapier does not do here: Pipebooster has no action, so a Zap cannot add a contact to Pipebooster or ask it to check someone. There is no search either. Everything after the trigger happens in another app, and events from before the Zap was switched on are not replayed.

Zapier terms in one minute
Seven words do the heavy lifting on this page. Here they are, in plain English.
- Zap
- The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time that event happens.
- Trigger
- The event that starts the Zap, like a contact changing employer. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it.
- Action
- What the Zap does once started: post a message, update a CRM record, send an email. Pipebooster offers none itself.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills. Each action that completes successfully is one task, and your plan counts those.
- Instant trigger
- The app reports the event to Zapier the moment it happens. All three Pipebooster triggers work like this.
- Polling trigger
- A trigger Zapier checks on a timer. Pipebooster has none, so the waiting time of your plan never applies.
- Multi-step Zap
- Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A filter or a second action makes one, and it then needs a paid plan.
What a Pipebooster Zap costs
Pipebooster is not a premium app: it runs on the free plan as well as the paid ones.
- Any Pipebooster trigger0 tasks
- Each successful action1 task
- Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps
- Trigger speedInstant on every plan
None of the three triggers costs a task. A job change arriving in Zapier is free; you pay for what the Zap then does. Posting the alert in a chat tool is one task, and an action that fails is not counted. The free plan offers 100 tasks a month with two-step Zaps only, which fits one trigger plus one alert. Want to alert sales and update the CRM in one go, or filter out contacts you do not care about? That makes the Zap multi-step, so it needs a paid plan, and each extra action adds one task per event.
Connect Pipebooster in three steps
- 01
Find Pipebooster
Go to the Apps page of your Zapier account and click + Add connection. Type Pipebooster in the dialog and select it. You need an existing Pipebooster account to go on.
- 02
Sign in
Click Add connection, then sign in to Pipebooster in the tab that opens. Use the account that tracks the contacts you care about, or one with read access to them.
- 03
Grant access
Allow Zapier to use the account. The connection is stored once and shared by every Pipebooster trigger, so a second Zap on promotions reuses it without a new sign-in.
Your first Pipebooster Zap
GoalWhen a contact changes employer, the SDR team gets an alert in its channel and the CRM record is updated.
- 01
Choose the trigger
Create a Zap, pick Pipebooster as the app that starts it and Employer Changed as the event, then select your Pipebooster connection.
- 02
Test with real moves
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent job changes on the account, so the next steps are mapped on a real contact rather than on placeholders.
- 03
Add the alert
Add the chat app as the first action and write the message with what the test brought back. Name the contact clearly so the SDR knows who to call.
- 04
Add the CRM update
Add the CRM as a second action and map the contact. This second action makes the Zap multi-step, which means a paid plan, and one more task per move.
- 05
Test and publish
Test both actions, check the message and the record, then click Publish. From now on each new move starts the Zap by itself.
Pipebooster triggers on Zapier
3 events start a Zap when something happens in Pipebooster, and 3 of them are instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.
Employer Changed
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a contact changes employer.”
Starts the Zap when one of your tracked contacts leaves for another employer. For sales, that is a champion who might bring your product into a new company, and the next step can hand them to the right rep.
Contact Invalidated
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when contact information (like email) is invalidated.”
Fires when Pipebooster finds that a contact's information, such as an email, is no longer valid. It is the housekeeping trigger: it keeps your team from writing to someone who left.
Person Promoted
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a contact changes position within the company.”
Runs when a contact changes position inside the same company. A new title often means a new budget or a new say in buying decisions, which makes it a good moment for the account owner to check in.
When a Pipebooster Zap breaks
Zapier links no help article to Pipebooster and no app-specific limit has been recorded. These cases come from how every Zap behaves.
They tend to show up long after publishing, not during the test. For a Zap that has stopped, there is a Zapier troubleshooting page.
Past job moves never arrive
A Zap only reacts to events after it is switched on. Changes Pipebooster recorded before that stay out of the Zap; bringing them over is a separate job.A big import floods the Zap
If a large contact list is loaded and many changes surface at once, Zapier's flood protection can hold the runs back. The second action needs a paid plan
The free plan builds two-step Zaps. An alert plus a CRM update, or a filter on top of the trigger, makes the Zap multi-step and it stops being free.
