What the Pledge Zapier integration does
Pledge is a fundraising platform that companies, nonprofits and individuals use to raise money for causes in their communities. On Zapier it works one way: it reports what happens to donations and fundraisers, and your other tools react. All six triggers are instant, so the Zap starts without waiting on a scheduled check.
Three results people build with it. A donor list that keeps itself up to date: New Donation adds a row to your tracking sheet or a contact to your CRM, and Updated Donation follows when a donor's name is corrected. Clean books when money goes back: Refunded Donation tells your finance tool or your treasurer that a gift was returned. A team that hears about every campaign: New Fundraiser, Updated Fundraiser and Deleted Fundraiser post the news in your team chat so nobody promotes a page that changed or no longer exists.
Now what Zapier cannot do. There are no actions and no searches: a Zap cannot create a fundraiser, record an offline gift or look up a donor in Pledge. Updated Donation only covers a change to the donor's name, nothing else, so any other edit to a donation goes by without a Zap. And events from before you switched the Zap on are not sent over.

Zapier vocabulary in one minute
Eight words you will meet in the editor, one plain line each. They all come back below.
- Zap
- The automation you build on Zapier: one trigger, then one or more actions that run every time the trigger event happens.
- Trigger
- The event that starts the Zap. Once the Zap is on, Zapier waits for it. Pledge offers six, all about donations and fundraisers.
- Action
- What the Zap does once started: the step that writes or sends something for you. With Pledge, it always happens in another app.
- Task
- The unit Zapier bills: one action your Zap completes successfully. Your plan's count is a count of those.
- Polling trigger
- A trigger Zapier checks on a timer, asking the app for new items at a fixed interval. None of Pledge's triggers work like this.
- Instant trigger
- A trigger the app reports itself, the moment the event happens, so nothing waits for a check. All six Pledge triggers are instant.
- Filter
- A step that lets the Zap go on only when what arrived meets your condition, and stops it quietly otherwise.
- Multi-step Zap
- Any Zap beyond one trigger and one action. A filter or a second action makes one, and it then needs a paid plan.
What a Pledge Zap really costs
Pledge is not a premium app, so it works on the free plan. Zapier bills tasks, and the Pledge side never costs one.
- Pledge triggersFree, never counted
- Action in another app1 task each when it works
- Action that failsNot counted
- Free plan100 tasks a month, two-step Zaps only
All six triggers are free: Zapier never counts a trigger, only an action that succeeds. Every Pledge Zap therefore costs whatever its actions in other apps cost, one task each when they work, nothing when they fail. A donation logged in a sheet costs one task. The free plan gives 100 tasks a month and two-step Zaps only, so adding a filter, for example to keep gifts for a single fundraiser, means a paid plan. The interval grid below does not apply: Pledge triggers are instant on every plan.
Connect Pledge to Zapier in three steps
- 01
Open your connections
In Zapier, go to the Apps page of your account and click + Add connection. A connection is your Pledge account linked once, then reused by every Zap that starts on Pledge.
- 02
Pick Pledge
Search for Pledge in the dialog, select it, then click Add connection. You need an existing Pledge account before you can go any further with the setup.
- 03
Sign in and grant access
Log in to Pledge in the tab that opens and allow Zapier in. If the fundraisers you want to follow were set up by someone else, make sure your account can see them.
Your first Pledge Zap
GoalLog every new donation in your donor spreadsheet, and only for your main fundraiser.
- 01
Start on New Donation
Build: choose Pledge as the app that starts the Zap, New Donation as the event, then the connection you just made, so the Zap listens to the right Pledge account.
- 02
Test the trigger
Run the test. Zapier brings back the three most recent donations of your account, so you map the next step on a real gift rather than an empty sample.
- 03
Add the filter
From the plus icon, add Filter and keep only donations for the fundraiser you track, with a text rule. The filter makes the Zap multi-step, so it needs a paid plan.
- 04
Add the spreadsheet row
Add your spreadsheet as the action and map the donation details from the trigger into the columns. Test once and read what came back.
- 05
Publish
Click Publish to switch the Zap on. Each donation that passes the filter then costs one task, the row; the trigger itself stays free.
The six Pledge triggers
6 events start a Zap when something happens in Pledge, and 6 of them are instant: the app calls Zapier straight away, whatever your plan.
Deleted Fundraiser
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a fundraiser is deleted.”
Fires when someone removes a fundraiser from Pledge. It is the cue to tidy up everything that still points to that campaign in your other tools.
New Donation
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new donation is made.”
Starts your Zap each time a gift is made on Pledge. This is the trigger most Pledge Zaps are built on, because every thank-you or donor record begins here.
New Fundraiser
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a new fundraiser is created.”
Kicks off a Zap whenever a fundraiser is created on Pledge. Useful when several people can open campaigns and you want to know about each one without checking the platform.
Refunded Donation
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a donation is refunded.”
Reacts when a donation is refunded in Pledge. It keeps every list built from New Donation honest, because a returned gift should not count in your totals.
Updated Donation
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a donation's donor name is updated.”
Triggers when the donor name on an existing donation changes. Its reach is narrow: a corrected or changed name, nothing else about the gift.
Updated Fundraiser
Instant triggerIn Zapier“Triggers when a fundraiser is updated.”
Goes off each time an existing fundraiser is edited on Pledge. Pair it with New Fundraiser and Deleted Fundraiser to follow a campaign through its whole life.
When a Pledge Zap breaks
Zapier links no help article to Pledge. What goes wrong here comes from Zapier's general limits, applied to donations and campaigns.
Three cases to know before you publish. When one appears, the Zapier troubleshooting page is the place to go next.
Past donations are never sent
A Zap only reacts to events after it is switched on. Gifts made before stay in Pledge, and moving that history into your sheet or CRM is a separate job.A big giving day gets held back
If a campaign brings in a huge batch of donations at once, Zapier's flood protection can hold them back instead of running every Zap at once.No loop back into Pledge
A Zap that writes where its own trigger watches restarts again and again. No step can write into Pledge, so a Pledge Zap cannot fall into that trap on its own.
